  1. Rangers will always be Rangers to most fans, it doesn't look like it to Naismith and Whittaker and others on what they saying and doing with this no history rubbish. We have no money and they decide to walk away free when they could've helped, that's not much of a true supporter in my eyes sorry. It's not like they haven't been paid handsomely while being at our great club in the past and when being out injured for long periods and that goes for both of them. If they can't do this to help the club they say they love when IMO they could easily do and still leave to go on to another club, they are not much of a true supporter to me. I won't hate them but I have lost some respect for them after yesterday.
  2. He's not done himself any favours by saying what he did has he? I am very disappointed in what he said yesterday, he could have handled this so much better and at least think about Rangers just a little bit more than what he has.
  3. Seen this on FF... The following Guidance Document has been sent to all â??Well Society members ahead of the ballot on the â??Newco Rangersâ?? application to the SPL. It is not loaded to sway influence, nor is it designed to scare or panic â??Well fans into one vote or the other. It represents the Boardâ??s honest view with the information they have at hand on some of the risk and uncertainty surrounding each possible outcome of the vote on July 4th. Guidance Document Risks and Uncertainties to Motherwell FC Finances Although there is continued speculation on various NEWCO scenarios, there is, at present, only one issue to be determined, namely whether the application by NEWCO for transfer of the SPL share currently held by Rangers to the NEWCO, should be allowed. It is this scenario we put to members/shareholders in this ballot. This document seeks to set out the information and scenarios currently available to the Board to allow members and shareholders to cast their vote with maximum available information. We have written it as objectively as possible but require the obvious disclaimer that there remains very significant uncertainty particularly on the revenue impact of all scenarios. Current Trading In the financial year 2010/11 we made a profit of £541k. For financial year 2011/12 we do not yet have audited accounts, however, we expect a loss of circa £500k on the basis of income of £4.3m and costs of £4.8m. This loss was notified with our annual accounts last year. It is a result of our decision to maintain our football department budget at last year levels, increased performance related pay, increased cost due to Well Society launch, alongside lower revenues from Cup income, no European income and, crucially, our failure to secure a player trade in the previous 2 windows. It should also be noted that each league position, other than 1st and 2nd, is worth approximately £85k in revenue in SPL distribution and that our distribution obviously varies depending on performance. The flexibility of our cost base to adjust in the face of losses in income is limited. Our main cost is staff and, in particular, football department related. As always, the balance which requires to be struck is cutting costs to meet expected income while maintaining performance to the level where higher income can be achieved. As things stand our budget for expenditure for 2012/13 is £4.5m including a football department budget of £1.8m for players and a further £0.8m on other football activities subject to upside risks on the basis of performance. Clearly, a substantial portion of those costs relate to contracts which are binding on the Club and cannot be renegotiated at this time. It has been, and remains, irrespective of the NEWCO vote, essential that the Club identify, develop and trade football talent on terms that suit both player and club alike. The Board will always therefore consider competitive offers for our players if it is in the interests of all. We currently trade with no debt save a long-standing loan to our majority shareholder Mr John Boyle of £340k which is subject to a generous affordability repayment schedule. We have also benefitted in recent years from the generosity of Mr Boyle in making funding available to assist the Club cash flow from time to time. This is no longer something which we can rely upon, or expect. Europe The potential net income from our European qualifications is very difficult to predict but is likely to be a minimum of £250k on the basis of past experience. This estimated minimum amount has already been included in our budget forecast for 2012/13 as guaranteed income. In the event of us progressing successfully through the first round of fixtures there is significant upside to this. This is not an equation any Board can rely on for planning purposes at this stage. POTENTIAL IMPLICATIONS ON REVENUE â?? NEWCO DOES NOT RE-ENTER SPL 1. SPL distribution Last year this sum was approximately £1.56m or 36% of our total income. The main risk to this income comes from the existing or pending sponsor/TV contracts that themselves allow SKY SPORTS and other commercial partners to review in the event of the absence of Rangers or Celtic. Depending on the assumptions made this could mean a loss of income of around £600k. This is our best estimate however there are risks around this number dependent on negotiations with broadcast partners. 2. Gate Income Last year our cash income from gate receipts was £1.64m comprising £670k season tickets, £970k fans pay at gate. Of the pay at the gate cash income Rangers represented £300k or 31% while Celtic represented £285k or 29% while the other 9 SPL clubs totalled £300k or 31% of cash income (an average of £26k per game) The potential predictable loss of income from no NEWCO is around £275K (Rangers income minus average SPL other). In addition to this we would expect our commercial revenues from hospitality and sponsorship to reduce but the potential here is unknown. Our best estimate is that hospitality would be reduced by £40k. We do not anticipate a loss of other gate receipts under this scenario indeed it is possible that we may see a modest rise in attendance (which we do hope to encourage in any event) if we are successful in our marketing initiatives and the fans of all clubs, but especially our own â?? improve support in the face of the challenges this scenario provides. 3. Sponsor Income It is difficult to assess this impact which last year comprised around £275k of cash income (advertising and sponsorship). While the loss of the Rangers fan base will be a negative to any commercial contract we have to balance that with the upside of European competition and, other things being equal, the marginal relative increase in our ability to compete successfully in all competitions. 4. Player Trading We do not anticipate that this scenario has a net impact comparatively but do note that all clubs look likely to be reducing their headcount and costs in the coming year which could have a negative market impact. That said it places a premium on the best talent. POTENTIAL IMPLICATIONS ON REVENUE â?? NEWCO ENTERS SPL 1. SPL distribution Last year this sum was approximately £1.56m or 36% of our total income. We do not anticipate a risk to this sum in the event of NEWCO re-entering the SPL. 2. Gate Income Last year our cash income from gate receipts was £1.64m comprising £670k season tickets, £970k fans pay at gate. Of the pay at the gate cash income Rangers represented £300k or 31% while Celtic represented £285k or 29% while the other 9 SPL clubs totalled £300k or 31% of cash income (an average of £26k per game) While we do not anticipate a loss of gate receipts from NEWCO fans under this scenario it is very possible that we see a significant loss of income from fans of other clubs and our own depending on the general view of the â??integrityâ?? of the game. This is impossible to judge at this stage but the numbers above give us the chance to draw our own conclusions. 3. Sponsor Income It is difficult to assess this impact which last year comprised around £275k of cash income (advertising and sponsorship). Again the risks in this scenario seem balanced. 4. Player Trading We do not anticipate that this scenario has a net impact comparatively but do note that all clubs look likely to be reducing their headcount and costs in the coming year which could have a negative market impact. That said it places a premium on the best talent. Conclusions The information above is written as objectively as possible given the uncertainty we face in making this decision. The Board is of the view that whatever decision is made on the NEWCO vote by the SPL clubs, the financial position of Motherwell Football Club will suffer. On a purely financial basis, a â??Yesâ? vote would likely preserve commercial revenues, however the impact on gate receipts is unclear. The risks presented by a â??Noâ? vote are slightly easier to quantify insofar as gate receipts are concerned, but even then are extremely uncertain given we do not yet know what the SPL commercial partners will decide. There are clear risks to the financial stability and very future of this Club presented by the current situation. In the event of serious financial difficulty, the Board will have to look to the members, shareholders and supporters to further step up their support for the club and the Well Society. This is likely to be in the form of increased prices, higher attendances and further Society memberships and contributions. The potential target for this we estimate should be at least a doubling of the existing sum raised by the Society of £320k cash in the bank with a total of £368k pledged. It should be noted that these events also mean that these sums may be required to ensure the Club can continue to trade in the transition and not to meet our strategic goal of generating a £1.5m strategic reserve which we will require to generate over and above the sums required to trade through any transition. It is clear that if we are unable to replace significant amounts of income lost under either scenario, the club could be facing an insolvency event. Following new rules recently introduced at SPL, this would lead to a 21 point deduction, being one third of last yearâ??s total. Whilst other clubs could also be in the same position, their points deduction would be lower. The Board will of course keep all of our members, shareholders and supporters fully informed of the state of trading and the requirements on all of us.
  4. I thought the SFL teams could/would have some sort of say? I am asking as I don't know.
  5. Haven't Falkirk and Thistle not came out and said they don't want us or would vote against us going to div 1?
  6. Steven Whittaker: I owe no loyalty to new company. I was loyal to old #Rangers. SW: I've been disappointed with lack of contact from Charles Green. I've received just one email during entire process. SW: it's purely a footballing decision. It's a new company. There's no history there :fuming:
  7. So much for the so called Rangers men in our team, if true they should be ashamed and never welcomed back to our great club if they leave.
  8. all the best zappa.........
  9. Ibrox club set to be given Division One lifeline after talks between league bosses SCOTTISH footballâ??s bosses are on the brink of securing a revolutionary rescue package which will see Rangers play in the First Division next season. SFA, SPL and SFL chiefs were locked in talks last night as a six-hour summit went on past midnight. The meeting was aimed at reaching agreement on radical proposals to deal with the chaos created by the financial carnage at Ibrox. SFA chief Stewart Regan hosted the secret gathering aimed at bringing an end to the Rangers crisis. After days of talks between the three ruling bodies, Record Sport understands SFA chief executive Regan, SPL counterpart Neil Doncaster and SFL boss David Longmuir thrashed out a four-point blueprint to revolutionise football in Scotland. The trio have been tasked with reaching a broad agreement over the future of Rangers as well as reforming the league structure. This is to bring clarity to the current chaos as the clock ticks down to the SPL general meeting on July 4 when the members will vote on the Ibrox clubâ??s fate. But negotiations could now deliver a cast-iron deal which would allow the SPL to offer guidance on a way forward and that in turn would see the emotive vote become nothing more than a box-ticking exercise. As Record Sport revealed this week, proposals are in place for Rangers to go to Division One and common ground has been reached on host of issues. A key part of the plan would see SFL clubs handed compensation payments from the SPL as part of a deal with Sky to broadcast live Rangers games in Division One. Clubs across the country will now get the chance to give historic plans the green light. The four key points on the agenda were: ●Finding a mechanism that will allow Rangers to parachute straight into the First Division next season. ●A guarantee that play-offs are introduced immediately at the top of the First Division for a place in the SPL. ●The distribution of short-term payments to SFL clubs from the SPL to allow Rangersâ?? First Division games to be shown live on Sky. ●A timeline to form one body, the Scottish Professional Football League. Regan has managed to unify both leagues and mediate over the squabbling which has been the stumbling block. Assurances have been made to SPL chief Doncaster that the Sky deal will remain in place but he has been playing hardball over the amount paid to First Division clubs to have Rangersâ?? games broadcast live. Longmuirâ??s battle for a fair deal for the SFL will have huge implications for lower league clubs as they will gain historic capital from a merger with the top flight. Also on the agenda was the SFLâ??s bid to install a strong representation within a new SPFL set-up and a stumbling block has been the SPLâ??s insistence they get a 3-1 ratio in favour of board members. The SFL demanded an even split on any new board which will also include a new chief executive as well as one independent sitting on the ruling panel. Reganâ??s bid to deliver a broad consensus over the way forward also involved discussions over the appellate tribunalâ??s transfer embargo on Rangers. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2012/06/23/rangers-in-crisis-ibrox-club-set-to-be-given-division-one-lifeline-after-talks-between-league-bosses-86908-23899716/
  10. If we go to div 3 then I can't see many staying. McCabe needs to play at a higher level than div 3 to progress IMO like some others also do. If it's div 1 then we might have a chance to keep some but if it's div 3 then we will probably have a team with players from div 1 standard, maybe div 2, with some youngsters who have not quite made it yet, then get better as we move up the leagues. It will be the worst teams in our history but will still be a big part of our history.
  11. They can't have it all once they vote us out which I think they will, what is the point of league with one team winning every year, sporting integrity aye right!! Maybe a chance for them to get rid of some of their bigots and plastic paddys!!
  12. Another good idea. Why are these not looked into better by our club, surely we must have someone with good knowledge on things like this or can employ someone to make us money in such ways? If the fans know what they are getting back and they can also help the club I'm sure a lot would be interested.
  13. This is the email I got back today which is not the same as Frankies!!! Thank you for your email. Unfortunately postponing your direct debit payment for the season, is not an option for season ticket holders. You can indeed cancel your season ticket, in writing (or by email) which will in effect cancel the direct debit. You will still have until the deadline of the 2 July to take out your season ticket. If you choose to do this the onus is on you to make payment/reset up the direct debit. I have not cancelled your direct debit if you still wish this to be cancelled please sent an email asking this to be done could you put your rangers number on email. I have since spoken to them and what I need to do is cancel my direct debit and season ticket (which I have done) but later on today or Monday phone the ticket office back up and say I do want my season ticket and set up direct debits again. It will then take 10 days to be put in place so the first direct debit will now be set up for end of July instead of end of June. They said it was not ideal but this is the only way round it just now.....
  14. Never a dull hour these days never mind day or week!!
  15. do you honestly think we will stay in, I just can't see it. I'm sure the voting structure will be leaked like everything else is and clubs could be committing suicide if their own fans found out they were lied to.
  16. Good post and can be achievable IMO. I think it's also a great chance for the fans to have more say in the running of the club if they can pull in the same direction and have someone who can lead the way, easier said than done I know. We could even run a membership scheme with monthly payments where prizes won etc, it would all be hard to start with but if there is a good reasonable plan in place then i'm sure fans would back it and buy into it. If only.....
  17. Willie Miller has recently been sacked has he not? They will vote no, imagine how their fans would take it!! Saying that they are deep in debt around £15m I hear, what a shame
  18. again a rumour from FF......:surprised: The vote planned for 4 July ts to be scrapped as Sky have done a deal and we will play in Div 1 next season!!!
  19. Posters on FF questioning why RFFF are not saying much in public as they say they have put in a lot of money and deserve to know more. They are now saying they want their money back they put in to help !!!
  20. I just got a call from Rangers ticket office saying they have been told it's still business as usual and it's up to the individual what they want to do regarding their season ticket. He said they haven't been told or know anything that hasn't already been said in public. Pretty poor given the situation with the vote coming up etc, there should be more clarity for the fans as to what will happen in different situations. IF we did go down divisions and they still asked for the same price then fine i'm sure a lot would pay this but they would need to give the fans more assurance and more details of their plans for the future before they buy at the higher price IMO.
  21. Just because fans don't get on or have different views doesn't mean we don't deserve our club! There is IMO too many supporters groups who all think they are doing the right thing or have members going along with who is in charge. I just wish there was one official club where say season ticket holders could vote who was on board or something along those lines.
  22. Well done you, I think or hope most will do the same once we find out more after the vote. If we get put down a league or leagues the prices should be reduced accordingly. I want to know more before I renew mine.
  23. that's fair enough BD, i don't go on FF much but you can tell the majority there don't want him and if you say otherwise you get slated. supporters i know who don't use the net are just not sure about him but again would maybe warm to him more if there is more and better communication with the fans, hopefully that will come once we know more after the vote and maybe even know his investors after that
  24. I still think there needs to be more clarity on the season tickets. How can they still ask for them to be renewed when no one knows what is happening or where we will be after the vote as you have said and asking us to renew at the SPL price? I don't think they are reassuring our fans enough and by the looks of it most are still against Green and still think he has no money to back us. Maybe it's the way he or others do business (I am not a business man) but it's not a normal business and the fans and one hell of an income for him so I would've thought they would be giving us more reassuring and communication than they are.
  25. Nothing is coming out the club giving us fans answers at this trying time. No one knows what to do with season ticket sales and again the club has said nothing on this matter which is amateurish as best. More bad news than good keeps coming out the club and again they say nothing. Surely bank accounts as has been said for the newco should've been sorted by now along with other details yet they still expect fans to buy season tickets going to the oldco accounts? Is there any real proof that Green has money in place to back us to the £30m or so he said he would apart from verbal assurances?
