Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
johnnyk replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
put yourself forward then, sorry but i really laugh at people who claim they could do better than people in these jobs, c'mon really it's not FM2012..... -
so it's ok as long as some of it's true....ok.
-
easy to say now but i do agree actually, but it hasn't happened so we need to get on with things . I don't think McKay or any other youngsters would've been anywhere near Weiss's level and still isn't, he has a while to go and hopefully keeps improving but he can't be expected to play every game just now as he's just in the first team. I still don't believe we can reply on young players playing every week for us nor do we have enough of them at present but that's just my opinion. i think we'll need to agree to disagree on this
-
In your opinion. We really need players now, we are not in a great financial state, we can't reply on youngsters to play every week until we are back in the back in the SPL. I don't think it's a bad idea getting loans in but that's just my opinion all you keep saying is it will hold back younger players but nothing else to back that up. Do we have a stack of young players good enough and ready to play for the first team every week for the next 3 or 4 seasons, I don't think so unless you know different?
-
lots of stuff even if it's untrue, what's the point in that?
-
but we won the league so what point is there really?
-
Sorry but leggo is one man I don't believe, has he got anything he writes right? most of it he makes up IMO and he just bores me and I rarely read his stuff now.

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread

no but this is/was their cup final and at home with all their players playing well and ours not. we will improve and win the league easy, I am not worried about our early form, if we don't improve in the next few months then i'll start worrying but we will also have the odd bad result/game in that period but i fully expect us to win the league easy enough but as usual it doesn't seem to be enough for some fans and I am not aiming that at you I am looking forward to Saturdays game as I expect a few goals and us to win easy and hopefully we will play some good football as well, the away ties are not going to be easy as people think but we should win the majority of them. -
but he didn't did he some other players underachieving did not help either, the impostor Webster, James Beattie, selling Kenny Miller....... a lot of our fans liked him and I thought he did OK given the media pressure he was under and shite they wrote and said about him all the time, and other players wanting to make a name for themselves against him etc he was hated up here by everyone expect us, well most of us
-
If we were in the SPL I would agree with you but we are in div 3 and if these players can help us up the leagues and dare I say it they might even bring some of our youngsters on with their EPL experience then I think we should sign some of them, certainly not 9 but a few wouldn't do us any harm at all in our present state.
-
but do we have enough quality youngsters at Rangers just now and for the next few seasons at least? what happens when some youngsters don't improve and play badly and the fans get on their backs which would happen? I want to see young players coming through the ranks as much as anyone else but we need a bigger squad asap and we can't just produce quality youngsters good enough to play for us at the drop of a hat can we?
-
I don't think youngsters can/should play every week and we don't have enough quality youngsters coming through to play in the first team yet, we either need to buy/get in free players or get loans in now. 2 year loans would be a good idea but will players want that?
-
I think we all know we really need players in as some others will go soon i'm sure, we won't spend much on fees for new players so loans are ideal and if they can help us get up the leagues then i'm not against it, as long as it doesn't totally stop our younger players getting some game time.
-
so you never enjoyed winning trophies with this crap we play? the fans can't decide what system we play, we all want better football but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. it's been discussed for years on here with the usual split down the middle, i'd take winning leagues and trophies over silky football any day. maybe this is Ally's way, if fans don't like it then i'm sure they can stay away or protest or something, I hope/wish we improve footballing wise but I will continue to watch and back our team all the way back up the leagues no matter how we play, I wish more could do that same but that's wishful thinking
-
but were you saying this when we were winning leagues? i doubt it, the way we play has not happened overnight we have playing this style for years and mainly it's been successful. it may not be pretty but most fans dont moan after titles and cups have been won which is what we want to happen right?
-
that's your opinion but it's happened for how long after one bad result or performance the reaction is always the same. someone has to be blamed, players get slated as does manager and now coaches, it'll be the scouts next then after another 4 or 5 nil win then we forgive, then a few weeks later another bad result and the slating starts again zzzzzz
-
So we never had any problems last season when he was manager? I love/d Walter but the football he played the last few seasons and probably more was mainly poor to watch but it did get results. We were doing well last season under Ally and our coaches until our of the field problems started with Whyte and if we didn't have these problems I believe we would've won the league. We are in division 3 with a new team, new players and young players playing for the first time, we've lost all our best players and good youngsters as well but we will get better, but to say it shouldn't be hard I just don't get it, how much harder do you want it? Fans who expect top notch football in div 3 and for us to win every game easy are not right in the head IMO.
-
I don't know him personally but the one thing I would never say about Durrant is that he does not care about Rangers, I hope he stays.
-
why is durrant getting a hard time here? a lot of players have been coached elsewhere, was that his fault as well? as soon as we drop points or don't play great there is always an overreaction, and I must admit I have been guilty in the past but this isn't going to be fixed overnight and fans better be prepared for a long hard road back to the top and we need backing not slagging of coaches and players just now.

We will drop points IMO, I hope not but to say we should not drop points or else our manager should go is a bit much. We are playing youngsters are we not, players who are not fully fit yet and new players who have just joined us, the next few months will be the best time for teams to play us but we will/should get stronger and better. But all it takes is one bad game from us (it happens) and one great game from even a div 3 team and we could draw or even lose.

Is the tide starting to turn for Charles Green?
johnnyk replied to Anchorman's topic in Rangers Chat
I don't think on this site there is many that are actually against Green apart from a few , most have given him the benefit of the doubt from the start. He has got us back on track and letting Ally build a decent squad for the next few years. He is doing and saying all the right things and with the crowd last night and season ticket sales going well a lot of fans are not so against him now. I think FF has a different view though
