Rangers 3 : 1 Aberdeen - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
johnnyk replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
we all want good football m8 but I took some of your posts as you wanted us playing better/quality football all season with a brand new squad and quite a lot of young players and a new management set up. it takes time for some players to settle and for a team to gel and as I said we all want a better standard but it takes time to get the right players in and some might not be good enough or right for the team or not settle in scotland etc. if that's not what you have said then i apologise for misreading your posts  -
Rangers 3 : 1 Aberdeen - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
johnnyk replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
you keep saying that m8 but he's more than done his part topping the scoring charts for Rangers and in the SPL in those 1 1/2 years IMO. What more can a striker do? it baffles me that people like yourself blame him for not winning a trophy in that time. It's not really his fault other departments in the team were poor during this time. it's another boyd thread so i'll make this my last post on the matter -

has no one missed a pen before m8? he made up for it with a good finish it's unreal to get slagged off for that, he has missed before but never hesitates to take them again good sign IMO....... i'm glad you don't pick the team that's for sure m8 :fish: -

you can't please everyone m8, some fans would rather have a striker who ran his socks off and scored less than a striker who scores more goals.............what makes a good team and even a striking partnership is players with different qualities, boyds quality is scoring goals, someone else should be doing the work for him IMO......... -

johnnyk replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
of course he can and if we got another striker who was better in other departments than him but scored the same amount of goals then i'd be very happy with that, but for me as i've said for a while a strikers main aim is to score goals and he does that more than anyone else we have given the chance....i'm not saying he is fantastic but IMO he is the best goalscorer we have at present and to get the best out of him you need to play with someone along side him who will work hard as we all know he doesn't.... -

he never done much but still scores, same old story what do fans want someone who works hard and gives you half the amount of goals? we don't play to his strengths IMO. we all know he can't play as the lone striker yet WS still played him there. if he plays it needs to be a 4-4-2 .JCD was obviously first choice but then pulled out in the warm up,cousin you would think would be the next obvious choice for that role but WS picks the team. boyd scored, we won with a good comeback it'll do for me........ adam done well but i think his 40 yard back heel to give the ball to them and set up an attack sums him up for me. if he only thought about what he was doing he could be some player, just something missing in his brain for me and always acts like a 5 year old......... -
can't see it happening so i'm not worrying about him TBO........

he's in the same bracket as gerry mcnee and spiers etc for me. i hardly buy papers now but if i do i still don't read their articles as what they say is the only way they make headlines as they are so bad at talking about football/sport. i also do my best not to watch them or listen to them on tv/radio. scottish sport would be a better place without these scumbags.

Papac is fit for tomorrow's game. McCulloch and Hemdani still out. Thomson will be back for Sat's game if he comes through today's game OK. Smith and Webster need a few more games. http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1250704,00.html

Kevin Thomson, Andy Webster and Steven Smith will all be in action this afternoon when Rangers reserves play in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Dunfermline at East End Park. The trio are all on the verge of making a welcome return to the first-team squad and today's game will give the club's coaching staff another chance to gauge if they are back to full fitness after their recent injury problems. Walter Smith is expected to travel to Fife and will be hoping all three some through the 90 minutes unscathed as Rangers prepare for 8 games in 29 days in the month of March. Alan Gow and Thomas Buffel will also feature against the Pars along with some of the club's best young talent including Jordan McMillan, Dean Furman, Steven Lennon and Rory Loy. The game will kick-off at 1.30pm.

On his game Barry is the best midfielder we have IMO and arguably the best in Scotland, but he has not been playing well for some time and should maybe be dropped/rested (he's not the only one) but only if we have players good enough to replace him or players playing better. Hemdani has also been poor and I wouldn't drop BF for him, and I wouldn't even quote Adam and Faye We should maybe see how Thomson and Davis do together when Thomson gets back to full fitness (soon hopefully) and put BF on the bench? Dare I say it we could even try buffel but he's certainly not the long term answer for me no way but maybe due a chance as we have been very poor in midfield recently. The problem is we don't have that many players who can come in and at this stage of the season bringing in a young player could be suicidal so that's a no go as well. IMO Barry has the experience we need and want at this crucial time and I can't see WS dropping him at all and he has a case as we have not got many to come in and take his place.

I can see your point m8 but to say he's the most talented in the squad is wrong IMO, he would give everything for us is wrong and would blast us to the title when we're doing so well getting results without him is wrong but that's only my opinion, i'll shut up about him now  -

what are the facts as to why you believe buffel would make us a better team m8 you asked me how he wouldn't so I'm asking you this 1 game against celtic and in europe and a league cup final is not enough for me.....:fish: -

don't be silly m8, WS plays too defensive and doesn't play the best formation or players he can/has. that's why we're doing so badly this season  -

again last night IMO you would never have seen buffel at all..... it's all if's and but's tho but that's my opinion so I say go with what we have why change it if it's getting results for now? this stage in the season is all about getting results simple. we need a quality midfielder or 2 but ones who are a whole lot better than buffel but again only my opinion........... -
Maybe he is he a goth or something? it sure is a mess .........

he did play a lot of his games there m8, i can't understand where you are coming from saying this at all....he did play on the wings but also played centre and didn't impress me there....I honestly wish he could produce what we know he can all game every game but I don't think he can..... you like him, I don't, another one we can 'chat' about if you make the RST dinner -

but there's nothing really to say he will m8 that's my problem. He has been here a while now I can't see him going from a very inconsistent player (or consistently poor IMO) to being a consistently good player we can relay on every week and I mean going to the likes of Aberdeen, Inverness etc midweek in the pissing rain. If you can tell me how he will do that then great go ahead m8... -

not in denial m8 i've seen him play since he's been here and he's not for me, he has skill as we've all said but i'll definatley get that dvd to you sooner rather than later but i probaby won't be able to fill up a dvd......... goal against celtic, goal in europe hmmmm what else is there :fish: not bad for his time here is it
