It is a possibility but I'm sure the other teams will be thinking the same as us. We could easily go through and maybe even to the final then it's 50/50 whoever we play, even Bayern IMO, as it's a one off game, but the teams who are left are no mugs and if we don't play well could easily be out next round. It's a great draw but i'm not getting too carried away just yet.

Chris Burke is in in Danger of missing Sunday's CIS Cup Final but Jean-Claude Darcheville is in the squad and should play at Hampden. Burke suffered an ankle injury in training at Bremen's Weser Stadium on Wednesday night that ruled him out of the second leg of the UEFA Cup Round of 16 tie when Rangers famously secured their place in the quarter-finals. The flame-haired winger is now in a race against time to prove his fitness for the Hampden showdown. Smith said. "Chris went over on his ankle in training on Wednesday night. He will get treatment today and tomorrow and we hope that he will be OK but at this moment his is doubtful". Rangers are already missing Daniel Cousuin, Nacho Novo, Stevie Naismith and Charlie Adam for the final but Darcheville should be back. Smith added. "Darcheville trained with us today and we expect him to be fit for the final". http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1265301,00.html -
Best draw possible IMO.........

Gretna's SPL match against Aberdeen at Pittodrie will go ahead despite the club entering administration. The club's future is in doubt after benefactor Brooks Mileson withdrew his financial backing following illness. Gretna's administrator David Elliot said on Thursday only 10 players were willing to play on Saturday. But the club said on Friday that a full squad would travel to Pittodrie and it thanked everyone for their messages of support and goodwill. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/7295175.stm

He didn't have the best of games m8, but as you said he was always trying and getting forward when possible but there wasn't a lot on most of the time and the ball went back to them under no pressure quite a few times and not just by Barry, he was chasing shadows a lot but done more running than others. As is normal he is always the first head on the chopping block when he has a poor/average game for him. Not many have mentioned Hemdani, Adam, Dailly who are all midfielders as well and who all also didn't have great games. He did look tired in the 2nd half but no wonder, he didn't get much help in there last night IMO.

Barry always gets picked out first just like boyd does up front. Barry was no worse than Adam or Hemdani last night IMO.

cup tied m8 -
saying what I have said in earlier posts if BF needs to be rested/dropped then next wed against thistle is the perfect opportunity. If we can't beat them without him then there's something wrong and we have a few big games coming up after this!!

Good preview m8. Adam is suspended. I think we might go with: ____________________McGregor__________________ Broadfoot______Weir____________Cuellar______Papac _________________Dailly/Hemdani__________________ Burke_______Davis_______Ferguson______McCulloch__ ___________________Boyd/JCD____________________ Or if all fit I would like to see: ____________________McGregor__________________ Broadfoot______Weir____________Cuellar______Papac ____________________Thomson__________________ Burke________________Ferguson______________Davis ___________________Boyd_____JCD_______________ No point in playing the long high balls as wilkie and dods will lap that up..... -
With very young/old players I agree but someone who is just 30 I disagree totally m8.
-
True but I don't think there is anyone better in our team IMO where he plays. Hemdani has also been playing poorly IMO and has Adam, and Thomson is just back from injury, who else is better? BF has to be in our midfield for the rest of the season IMO.
-
What has rooney being rested got to do with BF? He is our best player IMO and captain and should be playing every game.
-
I would not say every game but most yes I agree. But IMO that still doesn't make him a better player, he is playing better yes and has the potential to be yes but better not for me yet, although I do hope he does or will in the future. On his game IMO BF is still a better player at present and they do play different roles. It is however great to see we have another midfielder who is playing well and can play along side BF and as you say outshine him just now, we have needed that for a while. I just hope we can sign him permanently at the end of the season as him, BF and Thomson look a very strong midfield to me.
-
Is or was? You can't say he IS a better player than Ferguson just now as he has only been here 5 mins and not done that much in the game as yet....... He WAS better last night by far yes and has the potential to be as good or better than BF of course.....
-
He is team captain and on his game the best midfielder we have IMO......... I'm sure most captain's have a say in team selection, some of the time anyway......... Saying that he was poor last night but never hides....I would never drop him in such important games.

0-0 draw tonight fantastic indeed
-
a scoring draw for me..........
-
there'll be plenty of more of transfer talk till the end of august i suppose i hope this one is not true either as i've not been impressed by what i've seen of him ........
-
i'd play boyd, with burke on the right and lee on the left, might not be pretty but as has been so far this season very effective indeed........... it might be hard to pick the midfield as you now have 5 there, but i think it will be barry, davis and thomson............. and depends if we pick up any more injuries on thursday..........
-
i agree here, they will be helped out till the end of the season anyway.
-
get him to f**k.............:moon:
-
miller isn't any better than what we have IMO, I would never want him back at Ibrox...............£2m would be better spent elsewhere and on better players.......
