they are scum and don't give a toss about anyone but themselves as we all know. looking back to the jan game where we kindly agreed to postpone the old firm game for an ex selik 'squad' player who left them years ago we were in a no win situation with not only the scum fans but most of the country, I really wish this game had been played and even at the time was pissed off it never was just to please others, no one likes us anyway whatever we do right or wrong. if this was the other way about i'm sure they would be all for it and i doubt we would be saying we are off to play overseas so stuff the extension but i doubt we would want to help them too much either!!

I think he's a decent player and was our best player last season yes, but not been the same player this season, to be honest he has been very poor. In europe he done well defensively yes, but for the SPL is far too defensive even for WS tactics IMO He gives no threat at all going forward and rarely gets in the box or has killer forward passes. I for one would not like to see him, thomson in the same team for a 3 man midfield as they are too similar and a waste of a player IMO, i'd have thomson over him every time with 2 more attacking minded midfielders. I know dailly has only been a short time but has outshone hemdani big style, he's defended well and done more getting forward than hemdani could ever do IMO. if we could get £4-£5m for barry take it but we need to buy a top quality replacement, thomson, davis, barry or another would do for me. as said he was our best player last season but that wasn't too hard was it and what did we win in that time? I'm sure someone said the same about another player who was top scorer but got pelters as he was in a team winning nothing at the time :fish:

I don't believe a word he says........

burke can go to get rid of the big wages he is certainly not earning....£500k-£1M? buffel can go as well to get rid of even bigger wages that he also is not earning. £500k? Still can't believe some fans want boyd to go, if we bring in better quality players to play beside him he would score for fun IMO even in the so called BIG games, but unless he plays regularly it would be best for everyone if he left although I certainly hope he stays and plays. £3-£4M Hemdani can also go for me, decent player but we don't need any more defensive midfielders than what we have so can go for me. £1M faye is on loan so send him back down south quick, very big waste of money again on him.........£0 I'm not fussed either way if cousin stays or goes. £2-£3m

DUP MP Gregory Campbell has tabled a parliamentary motion calling for the life of Northern Ireland footballer Sam English to be commemorated. English from Aghadowey, near Coleraine, was one of the up and coming stars of Scottish football when he moved to Rangers in the 1930s. He had marked his arrival at the club with a blistering run of goals. He would go on to set the club record for the most goals scored in one season - a record that stands to this very day. Over at Celtic, John Thompson was making a name for himself. At 22, he was already a star goalkeeper. He had been signed at just 17 years of age, and he was, in the words of football historian Robert McElroy, "graceful, athletic, very brave and courageous". The two men faced each other on the pitch on 5 September 1931 in a match which would end in tragic circumstances. Home turf for Sam English - Celtic travelled to Ibrox for a derby that was as hotly contested then as it is today. Disaster struck just five minutes into the second half. The two men met outside Thompson's goal for what everyone agrees was a 50-50 challenge. "I have seen the grainy black and white film of the incident, which shows a loose ball with the two players going for it," Mr McElroy said. "It's actually John Thompson's forward motion in diving towards the ball that his head struck Sam English's knee". John Thompson was rushed to the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow, where he died later that day. Celtic's manager at the time, Willie Maley, mourned his young star, writing after his death: "Never was there a keeper who caught and held the fastest shots with such grace and ease. "In all he did there was the balance and beauty of movement wonderful to watch. Among the great Celts who have passed over, he has an honoured place." For Sam English though, things were never the same again. Although he put 44 goals into the net for Rangers that season, he was taunted and jeered by away crowds everywhere he went. An official enquiry cleared him of any blame for John Thompson's death, but still the jeering went on. At the end of 1933, he left Rangers and headed south to Liverpool, where the taunts followed him. He gave up professional football aged 28. But some are determined that 100 years after his birth, he should be remembered for his achievements on the pitch, and not for a brilliant career cut short by tragedy. Mr Campbell, a life-time Rangers fan, has tabled a parliamentary motion calling for the life of Sam English to be commemorated. "He is a person of whom I would have thought people should be proud and his memory should be cherished," he said. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/7313835.stm

I really don't expect many fringe players to start, on the bench probably but I think most starters will be from our usual squad. _____________McGregor__________ Broadfoot_Cuellar_Papac__Whittaker Novo____Davis___Thomson___Adam ________Boyd ______Naismith____

Nocho Novo and Stevie Naismith are set to be unleashed on Partick Thistle tomorrow night as Rangers aim to take further strides in the Scottish Cup. Charlie Adam is also likely to be brought back too as Walter Smith sets his sights on a slot in the semi-finals. Novo, Naismith and Adam were all ineligible for Sunday's CIS Cup Final triumph - with Nacho and Charlie suspended and Stevie cup-tied. So they are all certainties to be in the squad - and even the starting line-up - as boss Walter Smith aims to reach the last four. He said " All of these lads come back into the plans and it's important that all of the squad maintains a level of match fitness with so many big games coming up. We are certainly not going to make changes just for the sake of it and it will be a strong first team we put out. We can't take anything for granted and if we need a warning we only need to look at what happened last season when Rangers lost at home to St Johnstone in the CIS cup" http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1268069,00.html

I'm sure Walter will have a list of who he would like or wants to sign. It all depends on who will leave and how much money we might get back and how much wages it frees up, and how much money will SDM give him to spend on top of that. there will be so many rumours between now and the end of august I just don't believe any of them until they actually sign. and why make these public as it might harm our chances of getting the player we want if another team see they are available and can bid higher than us and offer more wages. for me the papers/press jump on any rumour they hear from anywhere but a lot of fans read the papers etc and probably believe the stories. a few rumours will be right but most will be wrong.

As you say some fans will never be happy no matter what. some fans want us to play like Barcelona with the players we have and in the SPL where you get virtually no time on the ball and compete against the top teams in Europe who spend millions and have the best players in the world. they also slag of players who do well against every other team apart from the 'BIG TEAMS' don't you have to beat the 'SMALL TEAMS' to win things? end of the day it's up to WS and his team to get results and so far on his return he has done that yet still the fans complain. this time last year if you said we would have done what he has achieved and be where we are no one would have believed it but here we are doing fantastic and they moan about his tactics and team selection instead, so fickle IMO, just remember where we were this time last year and what we had left to play for.

and they have qualified for the last 4 major tournaments.
