It's not that I fear for us next season, just if we don't sign creative midfielder/s it will be more of the same, not good to watch but pretty effective...... -
I never said I was happy with the midfield, did I? I bloody hope we get someone far better than buffel or we're totally buggered! Buffel had more chances than many get, he done next to nothing in his time here. You still haven't given any evidence he done otherwise apart from one Celtic game and one CL game, is that good enough for you for someone getting �£15k or more a week? Re Boyd, he does his job which is to score goals but that's not good enough for you of course, he needs to be an all round striker now. Buffel hardly done his job when given a chance but that is good enough, that really baffles me. He had ability he sadly never showed it enough, goodbye.

He'd still be top scorer if he played half the games the rest of the strikers did IMO m8...........

Early days and it's only a friendly I know, we worked hard and got a good run out which is the main aim but we have no creativeness at all in that team. I hope KM proves me wrong but he is not good enough IMO, velicka done more when he came on than KM done than whole game. Shalke were comfortable all game..... I see we have improved our set pieces at last

If Weir plays anywhere near the standard he did last season I will be very happy to see him as captain. The SPL will be fine but in Europe he might get caught out but a good choice IMO. I'm sure Carlos is just happy to get on with his football and keep playing at the level he showed last season which was very high. Maybe he didn't want the pressure or responsibilty of being captain who knows. Weir is the most experienced and has helped Carlos settle in fine so I am happy with that as I'm sure the rest of the players are.

Danny Shittu has said he is still desperate to join Rangers - despite insisting the club caused the collapse of his proposed switch to Glasgow. (Daily Record) Birmingham have transfer-listed Olivier Kapo and the �£3m French midfielder expects to link up again with former Blues boss Steve Bruce at Wigan. Klos dislocated his shoulder falling from his bike, you can't cover your whole body up!! If the pictures are anything to go by it looks like a slow pace in Holland and nothing else......... Novo must think he's in France though

I'm sure he would have got a decent pay rise by joining us. Carlos is only on �£15k is he not? I doubt Shittu is on anymore than �£10k at Watford? I also here he is wanted for the Nigerian Olympic team so he would miss the start of the season wherever he plays.

He can't win whetever he does IMO. As long as WS is here so will KM and he will mainly be first choice, he won't be sold just to please some fans! I don't think he's anything special and is not worth �£2m but I still hope he does well for us when playing and can score or create chances and help us win.

It's not a great loss IMO, defence is one area where we are pretty well covered. Good luck to him if he thinks he can go to a better team and also earn the money he was demanding. There are plenty more defenders the same quality out there for less as gribz said. I also hope we put this towards a midfielder!!

If we had anywhere near 6 players who could score 15 goals a season even I would sell Boyd, unless he was one of them of course In the past we have had more than one striker taking the burden of scoring goals but we don't have that anymore, nor do we have many midfielders helping the cause getting their share of goals......Boyd is our only striker scoring goals regularly since he's been here.

I don't think anyone is saying Boyd is the best striker in the world or ever have on here! He will IMO score more goals than cousin every season if they play at least the same amount of games no matter what formation we played. You can also see how happy Boyd is when he scores for us, does Cousin even raise a smile? I know some players are like this but come on celebrate a little. Cousin could have been a quality player whoever he played with but he will go down as another who was a wasted talent like so many before him..
