i don't care about your post count, who mentioned that apart from you? i like a good debate but to call players and members names says it all for me........ he is not good enough but he doesn't pick the team does he? o and welcome to gersnet.......:box:

the fans were quite happy to play this way all season long and nearly win us 4 trophies. they were really only disgruntled after we lost out on the main 2 at the last hurdle. I was just saying I don't see why fans get upset over IMO meaningless games nothing else......
  3. if we can't beat them with the team we have then we don't deserve to be there. I think we will get by them easily enough though....

I didn't miss your point and I'm just saying my opinion as you and others are as...... When was the last time we played creative football? it's not gonna happen this season with the players we have and the tactics we play so why do you think it would happen in pre season?

I would like to see you say that to his face m8, he is a big Rangers man who is living the dream, he doesn't pick the team. would you say no if someone signed you and played you for Rangers? He is trying his best and agree he is not good enough for us but it's a bit childish to start calling him names like a 10 year old....unless you are a 10 year old of course?

To be honest I really don't care about friendlies, they for me are just to get the players match fit and new ones used to the formation and other players around them. How many times have we have good results pre season then had bad seasons? I will judge the team on results that matter although I can see some fans frustrations as they are paying money to watch worthless pre season games IMO. What if we won all our games 5-0 then have a rotten start to the season what would fans say? I haven't been to pre season games for years as they are ripping off fans IMO...........

it's good to the see the fans behind the team as usual before the start of the season.............
  8. WALTER SMITH is having to play the waiting game as he looks to bring in the four new faces he wants to strengthen his Rangers squad. SportTimes understands the Ibrox boss is very keen on bringing in Sunderland's Nigerian powerhouse midfielder Dickson Etuhu, while talks are still ongoing over his pursuit of Steven Davis and Glenn Loovens. And the Ibrox gaffer would also like to add Middlesbrough's England Under-21 winger Adam Johnston on loan to his ranks as cover for injuries to players in the wider areas. But no deals could be secured before last night's midnight signing deadline for the second round Champions League qualifier against FBK Kaunas next Wednesday at Ibrox. And Smith will now hope that what he has is enough to get past the Lithuanians - before stepping up moves to bring in new players before the next European signing deadline of August 7 for the third round qualifiers. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.2409459.0.0.php

  10. RANGERS: McGregor; Whittaker, Weir, Broadfoot, Papac; Novo, Hemdani, Thomson, McCulloch; Darcheville, Miller. Subs: G. Smith, Dailly, Velicka, Boyd, Adam, MacLachlan, Emslie, Furman.
  11. At least he's still playing for us m8, after Buffel and Sebo left I was waiting for news about you on here :box:
  12. Boyd missed a first min penalty, that should please some on here
  13. RANGERS' pursuit of midfield reinforcements received a boost today as PSV Eindhoven revealed Mika Vayrynen is up for sale. The 26-year-old Finnish international has moved on to Walter Smith's signing radar following the long-term injury to captain Barry Ferguson. The Ibrox manager was linked to the playmaker just over a year ago and has made tentative enquires regarding his availability - and he has been encouraged with news the Dutch side are prepared to offload the player. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.2405577.0.0.php

  15. I actually agree with you here, what's going on
  16. I wouldn't let Cousin near the first team again, talented or not, he showed his true colours last season for me, first of all ready to leave midway through the season (ok not so bad but shows he doesn't care about us really) then his stupid headbutting not once but twice in 2 very important games and then his atttitude when he got back in the team! No wonder his last team dropped him and got rid on the cheap.......
  17. and the wages he will want, and has been said on here another left sided player when we are short of central and right sided ones....
  18. I agree again Pete, certainly worth a try but will that happen!!
  19. Have you not changed this as I'm sure you used to say we have not won a trophy with Boyd's goals? Now it's the league title. I know we never but what if we did win the league last season and Boyd of course finished top scorer would you have gave him any credit at all? Or would your credit have went to JCD or Cousin who played more games yet scored less goals?
  20. I have also been impressed by him and if we are to play with one up front then fine he seems the best choice IMO. But if we play a more attacking team in the SPL (surely we will with all our strikers) I don't see how Boyd cannot get a start most games.
  21. If the club are saying to him find another club then it would be a free I believe yes just the same as the Buffel situation.
  22. Would be one of the worst bits of business we've done for a long time IMO.......senseless.
  23. I would still say no, another in the Buffel mould, plenty of ability but only show's it when he wants or can be bothered which is no good to us. He had the chance to stay but left for more money stay away please!
  24. SDM surely can't think the fans are that stupid can he? We made how much last season from Hutton and the Euro run but we have spent pennies so far. I hope SDM is making us more attractive for someone to take us over (wishful thinking). Until he leaves we won't move much further forward IMO.

    Schalke!!

If WS thought he was worth it I'm sure he would've played him no matter what and gave Feyenoord the £400k (if that is actually true) and as you say it would have saved us a lot of money from bringing in someone new etc etc. They worked with him every day and obviously thought he wasn't good enough even for any kind of deal to stay on so we got rid, I really don't see any problem in that. How do you know deals were not put to him and he rejected them? He is away and good luck to him, best solution all round.
