  1. But what if the next guy is not any better do we just keep getting rid of them after a bad result, albeit a major one? I can't see anyone else coming in at present and doing much better TBO with that team unless they are super miracle workers and motivators they won't get much money to buy their own players now. It's like players it's a big gamble but I would say getting someone new in right now would set us back further. WS should have went out after last season at the top? that would've been the time but not so close to the start of the new season. He will get another season IMO.
  2. If we can get in better then I would be happy for him to go. There's not much money left for anyone to bring in who they would want to so they would need to work with the duds Smith has brought in.
  3. Stoke City are reported as preparing to come back in for Lee McCulloch and test Rangers' resolve with a £2m bid. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.2419815.0.0.php
  4. It was always going to happen, Rangers get the 5% they wanted, the away team puts the ticket price up so they don't lose out and the fans are the only losers here as usual. Surely Rangers realised teams would do this to the fans to cover the hike? A disgrace how they are treating the fans.
  5. OK I can see why but I can't see why would sign him for another year then let him go after a few games costing us a small fortune probably! Back up at best certainly not a first team starter.
  6. The record saying a few are going and hopefully Carlos staying. I don't understand though why we would swap Boyd for another defender as it says.......or why we would sign Weir and Dailly then get rid of them. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/2008/08/07/exclusive-rangers-euro-flops-set-for-axe-as-sir-david-murray-orders-mass-clearout-at-ibrox-86908-20687280/
  7. i'm sure they questions will be asked m8, along with many others and if not why not...
  8. I emailed the RST to see what they are doing and Stephen Smith replied saying he has already written to Martin Bain asking to meet asap and get some answers......
  9. Arch rivals Celtic are now odds-on across the board at no better than 5/6 with Sky Bet. Smith is also only 5/1 with bet365 to win the SPL Sack Race, with the firm's spokesman Steve Freeth saying: "It's not very often you see an Old Firm manager near the top of the betting for the Sack Race, but last season's UEFA Cup finalists are already out of Europe and Walter will start the SPL campaign under pressure." And William Hill have even started betting on who will succeed him as next permanent Rangers manager, offering Billy Davies as the 7/2 favourite followed by 4/1 Ally McCoist, 6/1 Graeme Souness, 8/1 Dick Advocaat and Michael Laudrup, 10/1 Brian Laudrup and David Moyes, 14/1 bar. "Although it's early in the season and Rangers had a good campaign last year, missing out on a lucrative Champions League place in such a disappointing manner is sure to start speculation about Walter Smith's future at the club," commented Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
  10. Smith was today locked in talks with chairman Sir David Murray, and chief executive Martin Bain, to see where Rangers go after their Kaunas humbling. And a planned Q&A session with supporters this Friday morning will provide the first opportunity for answers. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.2418664.0.0.php
  11. we may see a few players coming on loan now...........
  12. Smith is saying there has been a problem with the players desire etc since they came back for pre-season. Is it not his and his management teams job to get that sorted out? And of course they have not done this.
  13. great suggestion but doubt that would ever happen and WS will be here for a while yet.
  14. makes total sense to me ............
  15. I actually agree with that................
  16. I heard WS and Dailly talking on the radio, WS saying it's not good enough but really didn't sound that bothered to be honest, but then Dailly saying we played OK, put in a good shift, created chances and that the players done their best. I wonder how many players are actually hurting like the fans this morning, not that many I guess. These players are picking up thousands each week and giving nothing back not even much commitment, it makes me sick they should be ashamed to call themsleves a Rangers player. I am really not looking forward to going to the games this season, first time ever for me.
  17. sadly it has been needing this for years
  18. the players on the pitch had no idea what to do with the ball apart from lump it up or pass it backwards. It's bearable when you're winning easy enough but that was an utter joke in every aspect from tactics to players performances. apart from one or two the rest should be embarassed wearing a Rangers jersey. I really can't see us winning the league with that team or management even if our rivals are not that good either.
  19. They are both past it and can't be fully fit (i think Weir has looked after himself just a bit more than Albertz) which is probably why Albertz is retiring now (or maybe he has no desire left or simply can't be arsed) and Brian had niggling injuries when he gave up years ago but both probably still have more skill than McCulloch and Adam will ever have but IMO could never show it for more than a few mins these days which is no good is it, they would never even last 45 mins if that these days! I know what you are saying but these two wouldn't get a game for any other top level club so why should we have them back? It does show you how far our standards have dropped since these players were here and they never broke the bank to get them here either....
  20. sad but very true..........
  21. No problem son, it's not long until the schools go back anyway so can learn how to write :box: It does help in forums as well as talking about football if you can write does it not......... It wasn't meant to be nasty but I never added any smilies
  22. Why do you start every word with a capital ?
  23. why has he travelled with us if we have accepted this bid? as has been said if we go out tonight he would be fav to go but not until that happens and hopefully it won't.
  24. better at right back i think m8

    Two Names

If I was to pick I would also pick Maloney TBO as he is better with a dead ball but none of them are good enough IMO for us. A few seasons ago Charlie was one of or even the top scoring midfielder in the SPL and scored some cracking free kicks but has done nothing since, maybe like a few others it's all went to their heads and they think they've made it but he's went backwards in terms of ability and that's saying something. Don't these guys practice? They should be forced to practice IMO. It's not just him but anyone who takes free kicks or corners for us are dreadful, we never have anyone at the front post and they always go there as we can't get past the first defender. Beasley is the best corner taker for us IMO.
