Something is going right this season.....42 goals in 10 games (nearly double what Ceptic have scores), 10 wins out of 10 games & a team that appear to be showing more grip & determination in each game. Add to the fact that out of those 42 goals, a decent number have come from midfield & defence, shows that the entire team is working hard. The big question is......"Is McCoist the manager to bring back Top League glory???" Right now, I don't think anyone can truly answer that. He has clearly improved since last season, and will hopefully learn many lessons over the coming seasons. Lets just see what happens......

Nobody thought to mention the league table.....it would appear that we are now TOP of the Premiership!!!

doesn't look like its gonna be straight forward. spoke to a couple of places. I would need to initially buy the shares in my name, then transfer into my Dad's name. In order to do that, he would need to sign a form of some sort. I may go down the route of putting together a wee certificate myself to give him on his Birthday, then assist him in actually buying the shares in his own name. Cheers

it will help sway those in the mibae aye, mibae naw camp.....due to the increased media coverage - was the recent meeting with Mather/Stockbridge photographed and given a full page article in the paper??? It's all about perception - McCollco Appear to be working hard, smiling for the photos, doing the interviews & getting the media coverage - to those that are not part of any online community/forum etc their main sources of info are the papers & the radio/TV etc. McCollco seem to be the more proactive in "canvassing" the votes.....

It's all PR....nothing more, nothing less. The minutes tell the fans essentially what they want to hear, yet tell us nothing in reality - "we're here and we're ready. We also have a detailed plan & personnel to take things forward" All this does is help sway shareholder opinion in their favour.

not strictly football related.... How would I go about buying RFC shares??? My Dad's 80th birthday is approaching & as a lifelong Bluenose, I though "owning" part of the club would be an ideal gift. He's still chuffed to "own" part of Ibrox in the form of a brick the we bought him years ago. Cheers

Driving force was maybe the wrong term.....but he was approached by other shareholders to "spearhead the uprising". He & P Murray are the ones actively leading the revolt. The shareholders approached him for a reason. Based on previous comments from McColl I agree 100% that if he took control (unlikely), he certainly would not be a sugar daddy. I believe he would do what CG & M Murray originally stated (& failed to do) - get the club running soundly and within its means as a solid business entity.

So the fact that he's not willing to invest £xxm with probably no prospect of a return shows that he is a poor business man??? He didn't make his millions by ploughing money into ventures where no gain was to be had. Right now, it is his business acumen that is the driving force behind the requisitioner's battle....

I get the impression that a number of folk rate him highly due to his wealth (primarily) and the fact he's a fan - that's all that matters to a lot of people. Apart from that, I get the impression that he is a very shrewd & successful business man who could offer a lot to the RFC board. I also get the impression that should McColl take a place on the board, he will not be looking to invest significant cash any time soon (if at all). He will only invest if there is a sound business case to do so.

at the moment it certainly isn't the shareholders!!! I don't believe any dividends were paid for the years....the only folk benefiting are those who are or have been involved on a daily basis.
-
....or Board with a bonus...
-
Totally agree..... At most a comment stating that things are above board & there is nothig to worry about would suffice. However, if they do find out who is behind each group, and there is no comment that could then start the rumour will working again....

I think the "announcement" that McCollco effectively have a new board ready to step immediately applies some further pressure to the current Dynamic Duo that is the RIFC board. This shows the voting shareholders that the group is organised & ready to assume control. This then kinda weakens the question about are they the most suitable folk to take over - they are the only folk READY to take over. They already have a modicum of trust (balances with a handful of trepidation) and are not completely unknown. If they can get Dave King to officially be part of their group, I think the increase in fan pressure as a result would force the Dynamic Duo into decisive action. As for the Easdales.....there may still be a future @ Ibrox for them. Simply due to the fact that no-one knows what their current or futures plans are. It is possible that they don't want to be in control of the club, just want to have a hand in running it.

Obviously its the East Fife fans topping up the 500 RFC travelling support....

Obviously getting a date where ALL DIRECTORS are free to attend is tricky. Rumour has it that of the 2 initially planned dates, James Easdale is washing his hair on the 1st date, and Brian Stockbridge has a dental appointment on the 2nd.
-
That just opens up a whole new debate.....all depends on whether you see yourself as Scottish first & British second etc - but that's for another day...

How well would this time of formation work against a 4-5-1 for example when the opposition has a number of players in the midfield. I have always believe that players are required to "sit" in the midfield in order to facilitate a smooth transition from defence to attack. In the above formation would you rely on the wingers or the inside forwards to drop back slightly in order to receive the ball from the half-backs??? How effective would this formation be with our current players & who would you play???
-
The most likely route is via another share offering, with DK coming out as the majority shareholder.
-
King has previously stated that he doesn't want to do that - the money goes to individuals rather than the club. If he's spending money on RFC, he wants it to go to the club.
-
Folk need to look past Dave King's wealth - something that doesn't appear to be happening. What is he, as a person & business man going to bring to the Board of Rangers??? What did he bring previously??? McColl on the other hand, while backed by wealth, is more interested/concerned about getting the right people onto the Board to ensure the best running of the club. Maybe once that happens he will invest - ie putting money into a sound business investment rather than an emotional one.
-
That's all very well....but has King actually received a criminal conviction for his tax dealings???? The main difference between the BTC and D King is that There were several charges against King of Tax evasion - which is illegal. Tax avoidance is a different kettle of fish. With the BTC even if we were found 100% guilty, there would be no criminal charge to answer.
