Looking at it another way.... Mr Wallace may want a challenge - he has approx 5 weeks to show the shareholders why he should be the CEO after the AGM. It may well be that both Mr Somers & Mr Wallace truly believe that they can have a positive impact on the club both in the immediate short term, and for the longer term - they just need to prove that to the shareholders.

The main reason is the Ceptic PR machine is far better oiled than our has ever been..... Ceptic tout their players in the media for ridiculous prices, this then gets taken as a "true" value for the player. Basically we don't tend to talk up our own players enough - a few comments from Ally about McLeod being a £12-15m player would initially draw laughter from certain circles, but it gets the value into the media & into folks heads etc...

Who was the 1st pick??? The DR would have you believe it was the guy from Dundee, yet the official statement would suggest Wallace was the clear favourite.....
-
Both Wallace & Somers appear to be pretty good appointments (on the face of it)....could make the AGM VERY interesting - will shareholders be willing to give these guys a chance??? Would also be interesting to hear some views from the McCollco camp, who've been rather quiet lately.

Was it not Jackson & the DR that initially reported about Craig Whyte, the billionaire with wealth off the radar??? http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/craig-whyte-profile-the-scots-billionaire-1076110

Why would the CEO of a club even consider jacking in his current job to take another one, at albeit a much bigger club, which may only last 6 weeks??? Scott Gardiner must be away of the current goings on within the Ibrox Boardroom, if not how much use is he going to be???

Hugh Dallas was sacked for sending an "offensive" email to a limited number of people.....Rhegan makes a fairly "offensive" reference/comparison on a PUBLIC media web site - will he be sacked???

Craig Whyte links with nominated advisor Daniel Stewart & co?
Darthter replied to the gunslinger's topic in Rangers Chat
DR really grasping at straws here IMHO. As far as I know, Close Brothers are a MASSSIVE firm which AllenbridgeEpic sold part of their company to. Whyte then received financing from Close to least Kitchen equipment - how does that link David Somers to Whyte??? The next link is even worse since it concerns Allenbridge Group (which was sold to Close Brothers in 2011), investing money in Octopus - How on earth does that concern Mr Somers??? The rest of the article is simply the press release....top notch journalism!!! -
Is it worth pointing out that if we didn't postpone the match & got beaten - a large number of fans would claim that it was due to key players away on international duty...

Scottish football's £20m chinese takeaway
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
From my VERY basic knowledge of the deal, it's a maximum of £20m over 10 years.....based on achieving certain viewing figures. It will be interesting seeing the viewing figures for St Mirren v Partick Thistle on a cold, wet & windy January afternoon.... -
except during training - there are always shot of him on him mobile in Willie Vass' photos!!!

As others have said, Temps ain't a striker. I believe the main reason for him cutting in is that he's right footed, out on the left wing - probably can't cross the ball with his left peg!!!!
-
I don't think we should be scared of ANYONE...... Falkirk are a decent team, who should put up a decent challenge, but it is one that we would be able to overcome without too many issues.

ICT are sitting 2nd in the Premiership, 5 pts behind the leaders......Hibs are mid table somewhere - why would you want to change???
-
Pointed out elsewhere that the possible new date is after the original lock-in date - could this be significant???

Ramsdens Cup Final to be held at Easter Road
Darthter replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
I think somewhere like Easter road is fine - it neutral. What I find rather amusing is....do they expect to fill Porkheid with who ever is in the final - Ceptic can't even fill their own ground on a good day. I also find it amusing that Liewell is comparing the Scottish cup final to the Champions league matches - nae difference at all!!! As with the Ramsden's final....it should be played @ a completely neutral venue. -
They may already have someone lined up, but feel they have to advertise on the open market.....
-
It's strange that the original requisitioner's ie. McCollco have not pursued this further. They were desperate enough to block the original AGM, but appear to have gone VERY cold now....

Ramsdens Cup Final to be held at Easter Road
Darthter replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
The final should NOT be held @ Ibrox under any circumstances!!!! For fairness, it should be played @ a neutral ground, somewhere easily accessible to both sets of fans - most likely Edinburgh or possibly somewhere like Almondvale (10k seater) or Falkirk (9k seater) -
I'm sure I heard McCoist say that he likes a narrow formation & this was evident last night. The team setup was predictable & Stenny setup accordingly - and they did their job well. They flooded their defence when required & pushed forward in numbers when they got the chance. This gave us very little room to manoeuvre due to the number of bodies in the penalty area & midfield. I think McCoist brought on the right players in Little & Temps, but I think he withdrew the wrong ones. I would have taken off Peralta & McLeod, with Little & Temps going on the wings - the team needed width to draw some of the Stenny players out of the box & create some space to move. McLeod is not a winger, then again neither is Little, but he was the best option available for that position. Also, having Temps on the left means that he is ALWAYS gonna cut in.....and teams know that. Ultimately though, we won and are through to the final.

After his first few games, he started to get some mild stick coz he hadn't scored. However I was impressed at his work rate - he looked hungry to get involved in the game and while he wasn't scoring he was still VERY productive and clearly and asset to the team. Given a few games together, I'm pretty sure that Daly & Clark will make Jig and Little's scoring last season look pretty mediocre.

The exact same thing will also apply to opposition managers!!!
