So, do you propose that an EGM is called for on the 20th??? Do we continue with the constant bickering & unrest without giving the board a chance to move the club forward??? Whatever the board looks like on the 20th Dec, it will have been appointed by a democratic process & it must be given a chance. I am not saying that they should simply be left to get on with it - a close eye is still required - but if the fans are maintaining the unrest & demands that the board be sacked, further divisions will appear. Also, if the fans are constantly wanting the board sacked.....how do you intend to attract a higher calibre of director??? They MUST be given a change to prove themselves.

Somehow, I don't think that will be the case....I do think that whatever the outcome next week, the resulting board must be given some breathing space by the fans to do what they need to do. At the same time, the "new" board must be productive & be clearly seen to be making some kind of progress. I think it would be good if after the AGM, every member of the new board publicly stated there role within the board, what they bring to that role & an outline of what they plan to do moving forward - they can then be held accountable to those statements. If the goals are not achieved, they should have to provide clear reasoning for that.

Worst case scenario....he doesn't get sold - no bad thing!!! but we would need to stick to our guns £8m+ or he goes nowhere.

They're actually counting on the "best fans in the world" to start the demolition process for them......only too happy to help out are the jovial criacsters

The we are looking to cash in on the likes of Wallace, If asked, McCoist needs to stick a ridiculous value on him - £10-12m if not more.... He may get some stick for it, but it gets the figure out there - repeatedly. The more it is talked about, the more the value gets accepted. Teams down south then think they get a bargain @ £8-9m
-
The £11m figure includes 1st team playing staff (known cost - £7.8m), 1st team coaches/manager (known cost - £1.5m), Youth/reserve playing squads (unknown cost), youth reserve coaching staff (Unknown cost) & may also included other staff directly associated with the playing side of things ie physio's, doctors etc....

This was one section that REALLY stood out for me...the mentioning of "old-fashioned hooliganism" being mentioned in the same breath as RFC SINGLE flare incident. Would using Ceptics use of 18 smoke bombs, three fireworks, a flare and the mindless destruction of numerous seats @ Fir park not be a better example of "old-fashioned hooliganism"???

Exactly.....yet no-one is questioning his allegiances. Granted he didn't appear to get on with CG, but what about CG's puppet masters??? But he is with the requisitioner's, so he must be good....

Can I just check what the folk on here is more important: 1 - The Chairman of RFC takes a few weeks to pour over historic board minutes etc & tries to get to grips with where the club has been going wrong, in order to try & put things right. (Note: this options is based in info from his statement) or 2 - The Chairman of RCF sits & has a cup of tea with a selection of fans reps to go over everyone of the fans gripes about the current board & the way forward. As I said previously, I think some folk need to take a step back from the trenches & look @ ALL the information being put in front of them. Only then can they hope to make ANY kind of informed decision based on available fact. There may be a lot of spin coming out of Ibrox recently, but there is an equal amount (if not more) coming from the requisitioner's side.

I think folk need to take a few steps back from the whole situation. The more I read on here, the more I believe that no matter who is/was appointed to the Board (pre-AGM), they would not be suitable, regardless of who they are, what their background is and who they have heard of or dealt with in the past - If they are not part of the requisitioner's, then they are bad. Mr Sommers is obviously privy to a lot more information than any of us, and based on that information he has openly slated the previous Board members as being unfit for purpose (as the fans have been saying as well). He has also stated that a full review of current contract will be taking place - based I'm sure on his reading of previous Board minutes. The impression that I get from the statement/letter is that he is publicly acknowledging what the fans believe to be true and is committing to sorting it out. Many will argue that MM was out-voted on many Boardroom decision during his time as chairman - I'm sure this is something that will be well documented in the meeting minutes as will any decisions that MM put in place. This gives Mr Sommers a far better view of MM's performance than any fan has. WRT Paul Murray - his many attempts to gain control of Rangers in the past have been well documented. So far, everyone of these attempts have failed (for whatever reason), yet many folk almost see him as the Saviour of the Club.... What I find most disappointing is the instant distrust for any new board members - by all mean be sceptical - but how are they going to change peoples view of the Board & themselves, when they are constantly shot down @ every turn. Until proved otherwise, I believe they should at least be listened too, then given the chance to follow up on their commitments & plans - all the while being watched & questioned (in a civilised manner of course).

Malcolm Murray: Rangers won't survive unless I'm voted back
Darthter replied to j1mgg's topic in Rangers Chat
I really can't see either of the Murrays getting back in. I think folk have too many concerns surrounding their previous stints etc. The other 2 guys, I know nothing about. Malcolm Murray has had his chance and for whatever reasons, failed to impress or follow through on his initial promises of corporate governance - once bitten, twice shy etc etc. Same with Paul Murray...based on known fact, he has talked a good game in the past, but never produced the final goods for whatever reason.- 36 replies

Malcolm Murray: Rangers won't survive unless I'm voted back
Darthter replied to j1mgg's topic in Rangers Chat
MM, Brian Smart, Phil Cartmel, WS....were they not all on the same side against CG, IA & BS My recollection of the board @ the time was it was pretty well split 50/50, which was part of the problem....nothing was getting agreed. I would also have though that in a 50/50 decision, MM would have the casting vote as chairman.- 36 replies

Malcolm Murray: Rangers won't survive unless I'm voted back
Darthter replied to j1mgg's topic in Rangers Chat
Slight flip-side view of that could be....Is Malcolm Murray a strong enough character to be an effective chairman??? I would imagine that the chairman of the company would have the power to dismiss the "lower ranking" CEO??? To balance things a bit, the deck was stacked in CG's favour with regard to other Board members at times.- 36 replies

Maybe I'm too much of a cynic, but I'd believe a word of it will truly come to fruition - they are simply telling the fans (not necessarily the shareholders) what they want to hear in order to gain support. How transparent are they going to make things??? Are they going to alert the fan base to EVERY single deal or contract that is agreed??? Are they going to reveal exactly how much various players/staff are earning & what bonuses they get etc. Are they going to release monthly budget & bank statements so that everyone can clearly see where the money is being spend - I think not. come the annual accounts, will they contain the usual accounting cross-charging etc mumbo jumbo - definately Will they want to completely remove the financial availability of the clubs biggest asset??? They will want to keep some option for raising capital against Ibrox/MP etc. Non-Exec directors fee's waived - what about expenses??? Non-Exec could still receive handsome remuneration for their services.... All shareholders to be treated equally - should happen anyway. What happens if a shareholder (with 1000 shares for example) travels fro overseas for a match - will they be invited into the Directors box?? What if it's Mr Kingsnorth from Laxey? In principle it will not happen - major shareholders will always be treated differently. No long term debt - as others have said, not always a good thing. You just need to compare a Wonga loan to a bank loan - what get folk into the most problems???

Point 8: They are saying that non-exec directors will not get ANY payments unless the team is in Europe - not EXTRA payments Point 3: It is to prevent lucrative contracts going to family members where the director may have a vested interest. If the family member is a direct employee of the club Point 3 doesn't apply I agree with you on Point 2.....I think they are essential saying what a large number of fans what to hear - I'll not hold my breath for fan representation on the board. Regular meetings maybe, but not a board position.
