That's still 3 names that can be "disposed of" fairly easily - any immediate pay-off involved would be minimal I would imagine. They may also be on decent cash.
-
Remember that a number of players contracts will be running out @ the end of the season eg. Cribari & probably a few others.... Also, there is nothing in the reports stating that Ally HAS to cut the playing budget.....it is simply under review (along with every other cost dept.)
-
if they have all been bought (or sold) by a single person/group, and they cross certain threshold's it would need to be announced.

you can't compare Stranraer's wage bill directly to ours....it's comparing apples & oranges in the same bowl... A more accurate comparison is the % to turnover. Are we not still turning over about £20m per year??? The fact is RANGERS ARE NOT A 3rd TIER CLUB.....they are a European well respected & renowned team, currently working their way up through the league structure due to adverse business practises.

We don't seem to make a profit from ANY player we sell (with a few exceptions...)
-
another right back/right mid...... Granted not an area of the team that are currently particularly strong, but I would think there would need to be a couple of players off loaded bringing in someone else. In saying that, from memory, has a few of the younger plays not put in some decent performances @ RB??? The big question will be...is he better than what we have??? If he is a Lee Wallace-type player, then he would be an asset - pace, attack minded & can put a 1/2 decent ball into the box.....yet still defend.

Cribari's contract runs out this summer. I can't see a particularly promising future for Perry. Jig can't play forever. There's 3 from the 6 with "limited" futures....there is space to keep Luca & for him to get a regular game.
-
Would like to see more of Luca & Heggarty over the rest of the season - Possibly giving Jig (or Mohsni) a rest every couple of games.

Keep in mind, that this appears to be getting investigated from 2 fronts.... 1 - There is the Euro Commission which is investigating other clubs for dodgy deals/State Aid 2 - The Gov enquiry into the banks lending & close links with the Labour party etc While the Gov enquiry doesn't involve Ceptic directly, it does involve the banks dealings with them. If it is found that the bank were "naughty", it wouldn't look at all good with the Euro Commission.... The big question being.....Does Liewell/Ceptic have the connections etc to sweep both investigations under the carpet - methinks they will need a bigger carpet!!!

The bit in bold's the key - What they DID for us.... Miller was a rather average striker until his last 1/2 season with us when he was banging in the goals - then left to get more money!!! If we want them @ the club, get them coaching the young strikers rather than playing. as for Temps, McKay & Shiels....I never said they were strikers. I said they could play in a more attacking role. As for Nicky Clark....13 league appearances, 8 goals - not a bad start. Daly....21 appearances, 18 goals - Can't fault that. Clark will score goals, I have no doubt of that. Given the right formation, Temps, McKay & Shiels will also score. We don't need Miller or Boyd. As for needing men, not kids to compete with Ceptic - by the time we are in the same league, the youngsters that we are playing just now will have a good number of 1st team appearances under their belt - possibly in the region of 100+ each. They will have been battered black & blue in the lower leagues & won't be afraid of a physical game, and will hopefully have developed into the type of players required. We have to move away from the constant buying policies of the past. Over the past 2 seasons, we have had to rely on these youngsters and for the most part, they have not let anyone down. How are players supposed to develop when they can't get 1st team experience. We don't need to bring in strikers who are approaching the end of their top level careers.

Why do we need Miller??? We have Clark, Daly & Little as out & out strikers, we also have Shiels, McKay & Temp who can all assume an attacking role. By bringing Miller (or even Boyd), it is just creating another wage to sit on the bench. The club must look forward rather then backwards. While I don't doubt that Boyd would score goals (less convinced by Miller), both players have had their day @ the club. If they are looking to bring anyone in, it should be young, fresh talent that have a future & potential resale value.

Hamilton v Morton 28th December 2013 by Willie Vass

according to Wikipedia, cole had his contract terminated on 28th Aug for misconduct. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darren_Cole -
Yet by strengthening the team, this would undoubtedly lead to an increase in costs, which many folk are complaining is far to high for the current league standing as it is....you can't have it both ways!!! As for cost cutting, I would say this needs to be done away from the playing side. I'm sure there are plenty of areas that could be streamlined. As for Wallace, Somers & Crichton....I hope they all stay, if only to give a period of stability to the boardroom. This is a must if we are to attract fresh investment. King will possibly invest once the stability has been achieved.
-
Would you be saying that if we weren't winning games???
-
a good whack of our 1st team are either experienced SPL players, or are easily of that quality: Bell Foster Jig Wallace Law Black Temps Daly Little Then you have Perry & Hutton who have some Top tier experience. We need to maintain the current 1st team to have any real hope of competing in the top 2 tiers. The championship next year is looking like its gonna be a good league with a high level of competition.
-
Remember there is more to the clubs wage bill than the playing squad.... Granted the players will be on the highest wages, but the club need to look at all its other staffing costs & procedures to see where areas could be streamlined. Cutting the playing budget could be a bit of a false positie - yes it will reduce the wage bill quickly, but it also reduces the teams ability to win games, which therefore reduces potential income opportunities.

very decisive.....and also well in line with the BBC report...

In fairness, being suggested for a position & actually being a representative can be 2 completely different things....

He may well be referring to the non-playing cost structure....

I say Coisty will slot him in @ either RB or left wing....

Maybe they aren't as confident as they are making out in public.....

That is the key if they want to regain ANY trust from the fans......
