could be interesting if DK comes out and says that the Board are actually doing a good job so far & their plans for the future are viable.....

What do folk do if King side of the story supports the Boards statement??? If King is happy with things (for now), surely that implies that whatever the board is currently doing, it is heading in the right direction??? Obviously, if King contradicts the Board statement, its all out war....

Which makes sense.....however, what if his current plan fails??? What if the only option is to buy shares.....will he be willing to do that??? or will it provided a convenient excuse to skulk back to Jo'berg....

The only way for Kings trust idea to work is if its done in conjunction with the club. ST monies are paid as normal, but the cash is put into the trust by the club. The trust is then managed independently.

my thoughts exactly....many fans are blindly following King based on a substantial investment he made 20-odd years ago. King has wealth, he is also a fan, but before folk blindly follow, they should know exactly what his plans are, and how he hopes to implement that plan. What is King's log term goal for the club??? Simply saying that he "wants to compete with Ceptic again & stop 10 in a row" isn't enough IMHO - that is just playing to the fans. How does he see the setup of the club?? How does he plan to increase revenue??? These are the really important questions. If his plan is to simply throw money at the team, then eventually we will be back in the same position we were 3-4 years ago.....

Should Rangers get the plaudits for their League One success?
Darthter replied to a topic in Rangers Chat
They have still convincingly won their division - expected or not and that should be celebrated. Is it as prestigious a title as winning the top division, of course its not, but it is the competition we have been playing in this season & we've won it. -
On paper we are more than strong enough to take the Scottish cup.....unfortunately, the game isn't played on paper. I think, if we get by Albion rovers, the match against Utd should be interesting. If we can get by them, there is no reason why we can't win. If we were to win the Scottish cup, would the SFA/SPFL look at applying for special dispensation for us regarding playing in Europe???

The big question being....Would Cenkos take us back???

I reckon it was either Ally or Jig that gave him the dead leg..... -
So who's to blame if the quality of statements/spin etc coming from the club doesn't change???

So Mr Black.....what the big plan then??? When are the performances gonna get better??? We hear this line all too often from the players & the management. Rather than constantly saying what EVERYONE knows, how about just going out & doing it???

The players all respected Fergie & were willing to go out & try and play to the best of their abilities. Whether that respect was gained by yelling, or by a quiet conversation, he knew how to get the best out of his players. Can the same really be said of McCoist??? Have the current Rangers players shown that they have a pride in their playing??? They generally appear to be doing the minimum to get by in a game....this approach has caught them out on several occasions, Sunday being the latest. Sometimes a right good bollocking works, other times it doesn't - it is up to the manager to decide the correct strategy to get the most out of his players. These players are earning a fantastic wage, to go out and play well. There is a high expectation for them to do that. How many times have the management or players come out & said "we need to play better/faster/more attacking" or "that was kick up the backside we needed", then proceeded to play in exactly the same way as before.

for a lot of players, they are only interested in getting their pay cheque at the end of the month. I think a lot of them know that if the team plays badly, it's the manager that takes the flack, which in a lot of cases is 100% wrong. In our case, not only are the players not playing well, but there are obvious tactical flaws. There appears to be minimal leadership or guidance from the manager & his team. If the players are not following the managers instructions, then there should be repercussions ie dropped. If the players are following the managers instructions, then the blame is squarely at his feet. If players aren't playing well, they shouldn't be picked - again falls @ the managers feet.

Sir Alex Ferguson earned the respect of his players. I would imagine that the players knew there was a line that just wasn't crossed - if you did, you'd feel his wrath full force. The players probably $hit themselves after a poor result, as they walked back to the dressing room. Compare that with McCoists comments after yesterdays game.....publicly McCoist doesn't seem too bothered about the result, that then filters down to the players who then believe that its OK to play like that for a team like Rangers. Does nayone believe that McCoist locked the players in the dressing room for a right good bollocking??? As for Law (and others), they came to the club with a lot of promise, and have shown glimpses of that promise from time to time. I believe that Law & Black should be a convincing midfield pairing (on paper). Then add in a couple of pacey wingers like Aird & Temp and we should be onto a good thing - but we're not. Is this down to player attitudes, training tactics or something else - it is McCoist job to determine the problem and fix it. McCoist has now had nearly 2 seasons in the lower leagues, yet still hasn't worked out how to break down the opposition defence. Players like Law, Temps & Shiels should be demolishing these defences. Nicky Clark (although injured), tore these same defences apart last season, yet our team of SPL grade players are apparently incapable of doing it.

What is the waiting list like for season tickets??? If 5k were to put their money into this trust.....could the club simply say "F**k em' we've got plenty more folk willing to take up your tickets", and sell them regardless. I would say that there needs to be agreement from the club that any renewing ticket holder will have their renewal honoured. What guarantee can Dave King offer to existing season ticket holders that their renewal will be honoured???
-
One thing I don't get with the Trust thingy.... If fans are paying their season ticket money into this independent trust, how do they actually get their season ticket??? The club aren't gonna give out tickets, If they ain't got payment for them. Can whoever is running the trust guarantee that see person who puts the money in will get their season ticket when funds are released??? I'm not a season ticket holder, so it doesn't effect me....but just wondering.

Well let's ditch the monkey & deal with the organ grinder.....King's mum for Ibrox

Kieran Prior has thrown his weight behind Dave King
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Things looking better for King IMHO.....he now appears to be grabbing the bull by the horns, and forcing things forward. If he can gain support from various high end investors, he may be able to force through change. -
WTF..... Are they REALLY saying (in a roundabout way) that they encourage the general behaviour of the Green Brigade & their terrorist supporting ways and that the Offensive behaviour act has "acted as a barrier" to this????

I don't agree.....I think both sides are spinning the facts for their own ends. King implies to the board that he's willing to invest, but tables nothing concrete - this gets spun into "I've offered investment, but been refused". The board know that King's implied investment, but having received nothing concrete can say "we have received no offer of investment". Neither side is lying, but neither being 100% truthful.

This was the meeting where King met with Easdale last year (October?) and Easdale seems to be denying such an offer was made. That seems extremely unlikely to me. too me, that doesn't read as a firm offer of investement.....its saying, "if you have another share offering, I'll buy into it in a big way" rather than "I'm wanting to invest £5m into the club (example), how can I do that?"
-
So King only invests....he doesn't do loans???
-
There's every reason to mention King in all this.... He's been saying for the past few weeks that he wants to invest, but is being ignored. Up steps a fan with some wealth, and apparently plants a properly structured proposal on Somers desk - no show boating. Where was King's formal offer??? All credit must go to Mr Letham for his actions.
