The reality is that they have two near on identical offers on the table - one has Ibrox as security, the other doesn't. One offer should be dismissed immediately, but we probably all know which one it will be.

Now is the time for King to come out with a clear vision for the way forward. We know he has the finances to move things forward....couple that with a clear & achievable roadmap, and they will get the required 51% nae bother.
-
The biggest difference between this egm & the last attempt is that the good guys have at least 30% of the vote.....last time, they had just over 5%.
-
That'll be in 5 weeks, 6 days time then....
-
Definitely a better offer - to normal people/business. If you don't have to secure your main asset (and one of only 2 real assets remaining) Hopefully a large turnout tonight @ the demo, will force the boards hand - then again they may have wanted Parkco to increase the loan all along....
-
What's the latest from the Park camp??? Last I heard was £6.5m loan (to be converted to shares, with 2 on the board (& possibly 2 off)....
-
Could it not be "donated" to Buy Rangers/Ranger First, who can then use it to increase shareholding???
-
Possibly....but if a formal 30=% offer was made, there may be shareholders willing to cut their losses.
-
Would it not be in the interests of King/3B's to declare they are working together. By doing that, they would have 30+% and would have to make an offer for the rest of the shares. While, some won't sell, I'm sure there are others that will. If the get to the 51%, then they can clear out the boardroom without worry. Ok, by doing the above, it would probably mean less available cash for immediate investment, but if it gets decent folk back in control, surely it would be worth it???

12/01: American businessman Robert Sarver pulls out of running
Darthter replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
What appears to be the case is that folk are writing of potential high net worth investors, because "something ain't right". Just because we haven't heard of Sarver before, does that mean he wouldn't have run the club well??? How many million/billionaires are out there that we haven't heard of, that may think nothing of dropping £30m into RFC??? If we are not going to accept anyone we don't know, we are left with all our eggs in the King/3B's basket. -

so, following your line of thinking, we can only accept offers/takeovers from wealthy folk that are Gers fans & are currently known to the fan base??? As has been stated before, RFC shares represent a potentially lucrative payday - providing the club is run properly, the share value will increase, providing a nice little profit. Ultimately that is why many folk initially invested. Sarver is a business man - and apparently a very successful one - who was tipped of about a business opportunity & took what he believed to be appropriate action. In case anyone has failed to notice, we've not exactly had a long line of million/billionaires desperate to invest money in the club.......Being sceptical/wary is only to be expected, but at what point do we actually turn round and say "ya know what, this guy looks ok..." -

My guess would be that the Easdales had a wee chat with each other & decided that the 26% that they represent would not support the takeover, so rejected it. -

This is worrying, but not totally unexpected.... Here was a potential buyer, who has already provided proof of funding, yet the current board didn't even bother entering ANY negotiations. I get the impression that they were never going to accept his offer. In the mean time, the cash reserves are very quickly running out. Hopefully King/3 Bears can pull something oot the hat!!! -
Dave King's arrival in Glasgow imminent?
Darthter replied to aweebluesoandso's topic in Rangers Chat
It'd be a worthwhile trip IMHO.... -
Financial stability - with enough cash to last (initially) until the end of the season. Get sensible investment/sponsorship lined up to provide security moving forward The manager/team need a lot of sorting out, no doubt about that, but the immediate to short term financial future is imperative - if that means sticking with McDowell & another season in the championship then so be it. Mass clearout at the end of the season - if any of the players who are out of contract really want to stay, get them on vastly reduced contracts/wages. Build a team for the Championship based on our current youth, with the odd experienced player (not Jig).

1st possible reason - Why Not??? 2nd possible reason - There is still a lot of potential for investors to make money from trading shares - IF THE CLUB IS RUN PROPERLY. Assuming things are run correctly, the share price should increase as the success of the team increases - this presents a rather nice opportunity for shareholders. If Sarver pays 20p per share, then sorts everything out in the Boardroom (initially), then on the pitch, and is commercial interests are run correctly, there is no reason why that share price can't double - £20m investment becomes worth £40m. The problem we have had over the past few years is that those running the show have been doing so for the benefit of the few ie. themselves......plus they've been a bunch of eejits. -
Only if they approve another share issue though.....

That's exactly what I eluded to earlier - The Easdales currently control 26% of the voting rights. If they don't like something, they have the power to block it - most major decisions eg new share issue, requires 75% of the votes.

The biggest concern is the 26% controlled by the Easdales. I don't think it is any coincidence that they have remained at that figure. Most (any) major decision has to receive 75% approval from the shareholders....by holding 26% the Easdales can effectively veto ANYTHING they want!!!

so we should just give away all our promising youngsters (or any player), and not pursue payment????
-
Most probably right....however, by getting McCoist's wage off the monthly bill, that will free up a sizeable amount of cash (approx £65k per month for Ally alone (Pre-tax).
-
with the reports that young McLeod is being sold for approx £1m.....would folk find it acceptable to use the cash to pay-off McCoist & the rest of the management team???

If we don't get a new management team ASAP
Darthter replied to Ser Barristan Selmy's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm sure they will......statement released right after the game about giving the "new" manager time.
