  1. Exactly....all the reports I have read have been very positive. This has been backed up by his interviews/press conf. Same goes for SDoW.....came across very professional & dignified. Any new manager is a gamble......even if we brought in Mourhino, Benitez or the like, there would be no guarantees they would succeed. So far Warburton & Weir appear to going about things the right way - I have been impressed.
  2. Most important thing....Players who actually want the ball & aren't feart of it!!!
  3. I've very little knowledge of his past success or how Brentford played etc, but I am getting a very good impression of him. From the interviews so far, he comes across as VERY professional & articulate - I don't think he'll take ANY shit from the players. The same goes for the way the Board have behaved recent;y. All in, I am getting a very professional feeling again from the club - certainly much less of a media circus!!!!
  4. Wilson would be an excellent signing IMHO.... He's 23, yet has a massive amount of experience Inc. European. While he didn't play much @ Liverpool, just being in & around that setup will have helped him develop. He's also had a good strong season @ Hearts, while captain of the side. I think SDoW would be a massively positive influence on young Wilson, and could see him develop into a fantastic player.
  5. "Oh what an atmosphere....." Nae worries about Big Bella....we let Jig go a couple of weeks back!!!
  6. On Paper, Warburton/Weir look like a good bet.... How many folk on here had actually watched Brentford, BEFORE they were linked to the RFC job???
  7. McGregor is one of the few players that did well last season IMHO. A Pairing of McGregor & Wilson under Weir's supervision, could be a very good & longterm pairing...
  8. Gary Ralston appears to have other ideas/info....
  9. If Warburton wasn't the first choice....Who was??? and why didn't we get our 1st choice??? Also, what other options did Warburton have, that made him settle for us???
  10. I think McCall could bring an element of success to the club, but I don't think he can bring the level that the fans expect. He has done a decent job over the last few months & there has been a shift in attitude & performance from the players - just not quite enough. We want/need to get back to a level where clubs are feart of playing us due to our skill/speed/fitness/dedication etc. Clubs should be scared of playing @ Ibrox. I don't think McCall is the man to ultimately deliver those ends.
  11. I don't think a potential manager's success/failure in England is the more accurate of yard-sticks to measure them by......we are not playing in England!!! The game up here is completely different. We need to identify a manager who has the skills required to carry out the task - squad/player development, tactical awareness etc.
  12. Did the provocation merit the reaction??? If you did that in the street, you'd get the jail!!!
  13. "B---A---L---L.......sorry Jig no idea"
  14. I think McCall has to go about things as if it's business as usual - that includes identifying potential signings. I think ANY manager will have an idea of players they would like to bring in. If McCall doesn't get the job long term, his list will be passed to the new guy, who will no doubt add his own names.....
  15. What's wrong with having a league of x-number of teams with the team at the top winning and 2 teams at the bottom being relegated. Why the need to complicate things??? No game is meaningless if the clubs have any ambition - they should all be wanting as high up the league as possible, and be fighting till the last kick to improve that position. With Smiths idea....what about the teams at the bottom of the top 8??? They can't be relegated, they won't qualify for Europe, and they can't win the league - how is that "non-meaningless"???
  16. Does this mean that Black & Simonsen get discounts????
  17. The photos that were posted a couple of weeks back, showed the keepers strip with all white socks, but outfield with red/black.
  18. The report is talking about MASH, not Sports Direct - 2 separate entities. While MASH hold 55% of SD, I'm sure there are also plenty of other financial interests.
  19. I can understand paying a fee if the players actually help get promotion. So far this is only looking likely with Vuckic. One of the loanees has admitted that he can't play under ANY circumstances, and the other 3 are either injured or recovering from injury. Paying ANY fee for 2 players who haven't even set foot in Glasgow is ridiculous, and should be challenged by all means necessary.
  20. IMHO, the only reason for the fans not showing up is the quality of play on the pitch. The league that we are playing in is not a factor. I feel that even if we were in the top division, playing the same "style" of play, there would still be thousands who wouldn't turn up.....people are bored watching how the team has been playing. Once the on-field performance returns to a decent entertainment level, the crowds will return!!!!
  21. I'm sure I read/heard that King wasn't planning on bank-rolling the club, certainly on an ongoing basis. He wants the club to bank-roll itself.
  22. If he wants to buy a ticket like everyone else, he's welcome back.
  23. They may of struggled at times, but surely that's part of learning the job??? If we had persisted with more youngsters, they would have had a good deal of experience & more suited to the top leagues.....
  24. Is that not a bit drastic.....gie them a sound kicking maybe....
  25. TBH, I don't want to hear ANYTHING from the board unless its about something that has been done. We've had more than enough updates about what needs/is going/should happen over the past few years.
