Aye...as per the lease deal = £1 if asked. but comparing what SD are paying for their OWN branded shops is completely irrelevant in this case. The Rangers megastore is NOT a SD branded shop. SD (as a company) are not directly involved in the Megastore lease deal. I also asked the question in the other thread....How much were RFC bringing in from rent prior to the RR lease coming into effect??? Once you know that, any loss of income is clearly identified.

Transfer Rumours and Deals - Winter Window 2016/17

a £50K signing for us, is like a £1-1.5m signing for many championship clubs. English clubs will be sniffing around ANY player that is doing well up here. I reckon that if Waggy bagged a few more goals this season, we could sell him for £1m - with the right marketing etc. Get him scoring a few goals, then "leak" that he's worth £3m. There may be some ridicule in the press etc about the valuation, but it gets the number out there....the English teams come snooping saying "We're not paying £3m", and put in a low-ball offer of £750k, we settle on £1m, and earn a tidy profit. that's how Ceptic appear to operate, and it generally works for them. -
I mention the point again....The store is not leased/rented to Sports Direct. It is leased/rented to Rangers Retail Ltd - a company in which RFC is a majority shareholder & D King & P Murray are both Directors. Any rent that SD pay will go to Rangers Retail & not RFC.
-
How much was the club getting in rent BEFORE the lease??? The club own the building/shop, and previously ran their own retail set up, therefore it is quite probable that there wasn't any rent paid. If there was it would have been an internal paper exercise. That being said, with Rangers Retail (The "new" tenant") technically being a separate company, it could have been an opportunity to bring in some extra cash, since the rest of the retail deal is so poor.
-
It's probably worth noting something about the agreement.... It is between RFC & Rangers Retail- NOT Mike Ashley or Sports Direct, all be it, MA & SD will be the ultimate beneficiaries. Even though RFC are majority shareholders within Rangers Retail, it would still have been advantageous at the time to ensure a decent rent coming in from the property.

don't think we should be bringing in any more "old heads"...got plenty already. Focus should be on young, hungry players that can inject a real sense of pace & intensity. -

Angela??? I would like to see a striker (or 2) with an eye for goal like Boyd and a work rate like Miller....not been overly impressed with Garner so far, and Dodoo never seems to get any game time. Possibly another pacey winger. -
RANGERS could move for Diego Poyet to replace Joey Barton.

Initial Short term contract (end of season max), with possible extension based of fitness recovery & performance level...... If the lad has been out the game for 3-months, there's a good chance that he will have something to prove, therefore hightening is efforts etc. Worth a punt I say. Plus he's only 21 so plenty room for improvement etc. -
MSPs vote against Football Act as SNP suffers defeat
Darthter replied to Bearman's topic in Rangers Chat
I've always felt that the principle behind the act was right - sectarianism and unlawful behaviour should be tackled, however the implementation was a shambles. a full review is badly required. -
no definitive proof....just my understanding (which may be wrong) I believe anyone can sell official merchandise, but only licensed organisations can produce it. RR were licensed to produce the merchandise until the club withdrew that license. At the time of the Puma order, RR were licensed to issue that order - the result being that several thousand strips were produced in accordance with that order. Puma then argued that they have every right to sell those units (as they WERE produced under license, at the time).
-
Is this dispute not over RFC removing Rangers Retail's use of the logos etc??? If Rangers Retail are not allowed to use the badge etc, they then can't produce OFFICIAL club merchandise. Puma used the reasoning that they had fulfilled an order from RR while they had the right to produce merchandise, and therefore were legally able to sell the strips. SD & other retailers are getting their stock direct from Puma rather than RR.....

Something to think about.... Financially (at the moment) the gap between us & them is very noticeable, however our finances will receive a massive boost from this season alone. While they have been raking in the cash from Champ league etc, they haven't exactly slurged on the 1st team - barring a couple of decent money signings who are constantly injured. Also bear in mind that over the course of the season, we only play them 4 times, therefore if we are better than everyone else, we will be snapping at their heels. In terms of the league we need to ensure that we are better than the rest, and let the games against them take care of themselves. At the moment they have a 9-pt gap (with a game in hand).....thats not an insurmountable gap at this stage of the season. All it take is a few injuries & ropey results for them & we're back in the hunt (providing we keep doing well) I think we will give them a run for their money this season, but no change of winning the title. Next season is a different ball-game - it then all depends on how each team works in the transfer market etc. 10-in-a-row.....never gonna happen!!!!

One of these 2 players stared destiny in the eye.....and simply smiled!!!

I think whether Bartons plays for us again is entirely in his own hands. As others have said, if he knuckles down, trains well, respects the team/players/management, and starts to put in suitable performances, then he will play. It is up to him to give the manager headache of whether to play him or not. If he doesn't come up to scratch, its a no brainer for MW.

I agree with Hugh Burns....I don't think the team in general is too far away from success. We dominated play against Aberdeen, however work needs to be done on breaking down the opposition defence & maintaining a locked door at the back to combat counter-strikes. Teams are simply flooding their own penalty box in order to prevent us penetrating, they then hope for that lucky quick break. Think we could maybe do with moving the ball quicker when around the box - either short, sharp passes, or playing an earlier ball in from the wide areas. I truly think that something will click - soon - and we will all be happy again. Yes, we're currently sitting in 7th place....but only 3 points behind Aberdeen in 2nd - depending on results in the next game, we could be back to 2nd or 3rd. No need to panic yet!!!

I've not seen anything from Garner to indicate that he will be a prolific goal scorer for us. With Forester last season, he showed glimpses of potential, but lacked any real consistency. Garner on the other hand hasn't done any of that. It's not as if he's been unlucky and missed a number of chances - you could put that down to being unsettled....he's not getting into positions to get the chances. Kenny Millar is generally not what I would call a prolific goal scorer, but he stretches defenses....makes them work. Again, Garner ain't doing that. In the meantime, Waggy is stuck out on wide, which is probably not his best position. Hopefully, time will prove us all wrong & Garner will start banging in the goals.....but I'll not hold my breath.

what do folk realistically expect Puma to do???? They have received an order/agreement from RRL to produce replica kit - while they were still authorised to do so. Puma have actioned that order/agreement & now have stocks of replica kit to shift. One big question is.....Within the agreement/order from RRL, was there ANY stipulation on WHO was allowed to retail the replica kit??? Essentially, Puma have produced kit UNDER LICENSE, and are now looking to move the products on. Another question which needs answering: Now that RRL are no longer authorised to license official merchandise, is the agreement/order with Puma still binding/enforceable???
-
Heres a thought.... At the time that the retail order/agreement was placed with Puma, RRL still had full rights to issue merchandise. This initial order/agreement may have been for a certain amount of kit, which Puma have duly produced, and looking to distribute to retailers (as they would normally do). It may well be the case now that Puma are not authorised to produce any further replica kits for retail - unless permission is granted from the club. As for shops selling the kit....I would imagine that the club have very little control over this as the stores are simply selling goods which they have purchased from the manufacturer. The stores are being supplied & would be selling fully authentic replica kits (as instructed by RRL originally). If Puma were to continue producing kit outwith the original agreement/order, then the club could raise issue.

in a word.....YES. MW has build a good solid TEAM of players. So far this season, the LC matches have shown a lot of patience & discipline within the team. They have maintained "formation" & playing ethos. They also haven't panicked about scoring - everything is done in a controlled manner. If we keep the ball moving at a decent pace, there is no reason why it can't continue in the SPFL - it's really not that big a jump up from the Championship. We have also shown that our playing style is effective against SPFL team - Celtic & Motherwell
-
Agreed....there are more benefit than simply what he offers on the pitch. IF he was to sign, and play regularly, It would sent a clear message out to other players that this is a club worth playing for. Merchandise sale would go through the roof, if we weren't completely knackered in that area just now.

come on everyone....take off the blue tinted specs. Anyone who saw the last Old Firm Cup match knows Joe's comment to be the truth - Celtic were all over us for the entire game & thoroughly deserved the win, which should have been about 5-0 given how awesome Celtic were. We were the lucky ones to have graced the pitch of such an amazing side. .................... .................... .................... .................... .................... Wait a minute.....was that not the game that WE won??? The match where we had 63% of the possession & played them off the park. Silly wee Joe, must have been watching the wrong match.....
