someone was talking earlier in the thread about C1872 remaining independent of the club as a reason for the resignations.....If total independence from the club is required, is it not wrong that c1872's address is at Ibrox???

Aberdeen have simple benefited from a mis-firing Rangers team. Will be interesting to see how the table looks AFTER the next 2 meetings of the teams. Currently 8pts difference. -

Really quite sad for Hamilton, that more fans couldn't make the long, long journey..... -
Should be a total no-go. We need to be looking at players with a sell-on value, not has beens looking for a cushy retirement - we've been stung with this too often in the past. We don't need to buy old players to get experience - Look @ Danny Wilson. 25 yr old, played 184 pro matches with RFC, Liverpool, Blackpool, Bristol & Hearts. Also with Champ league experience & won 1 Prem title, 1 Scot Cup, 1 League cup, 1 challenge cup & 2 Champ titles. That's a good amount of experience.

Why Rangers should close the gap without spending heavily
Darthter replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
We have shown over the past couple of OF games, that we CAN compete with them...maybe not consistently but more so than expected. When folk talk about the gulf between the 2 teams, they are more often than not referring to the balance sheets. Ceptic have pulled in many millions, yet not spend all that much. Spending doesn't guarantee success - buying the RIGHT players does. This was one are that MW are 100% right about (but failed on the most part to execute). I have said time & time again that we actually have a good squad of players - they have the ability, even the defence. However they simply haven't showed it on a consistent basis. Hopefully Pedro is the next step on the ladder in our progression. From what I saw on Sat, the team worked well & played very well as a team - hopefully then can keep that up, win games & boost confidence - I think a run of a few clean sheets will give the defence a massive boost. As it stand just now, if spending is being planned, I would like to see Hyndman at the top of the list - he has proven to be an excellent player for us. -

Dave King has promised he WILL back new boss Pedro Caixinha
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If the board pay for targets identified by Pedro, then they are supporting. we were told that MW got the targets he asked for..... Just coz we don't spend 1m, 2m, 3m per player, doesn't mean that the board are not supporting the manager. We will just have to wait & see who Pedro want's to bring in. -
I think Miller brings a lot to the team....as a personality/presence. I've never been convinced of his scoring etc, but I do think he brings a good degree of leadership etc & would make a good addition to Pedro's team.

As with anything, it all comes down to how the thing is implemented. Is it viewed as a fitness & ball winning tool (for the one in the middle) or is it viewed as a tool to develop short, sharp, accurate passing. or is it utilised as both...

I found the HMRC guy VERY difficult to follow - he didn't appear as concise as the RFC guy. Also felt like the was a lot of jumping about his note/evidence/case, not sure where he was, where he was going etc. The RFC guy came across as a lot better prepared - that's not to say his evidence/case was better though....just felt he put it across better. -

The bloke for HMRC is not a good speaker at all.....no idea how valid/good his points are though, but he's a nightmare to listen too. -
Pedro ain't looking for a No.2 , I don't think....more of an adviser who know the Scottish game to assist him to get up to speed. I got the impression that it may only be a relatively short term thing.
-
The whole point that it is someone local, that knows the *current* Scottish game inside out.
-
I would say there are enough folk current;y at the club, with "local knowledge" to fulfil the role....whether that is Miller, Bomber etc, or even member of the current backroom team
-
That's something that they just couldn't get their heads round on SSB last night, after Pedro said that he "believes that we have the best squad". Shuggie Keevans couldn't wait to get stuck in about Ceptics 30+ points advantage etc. Completely missing the point that Pedro want's his players to believe that they are the best & that they are more than capable of beating all before them. If every one of our players truly believe that they can beat ANY opponent, we will do well.
-
I expect a fresh pair of eyes to review the team structure & training methods. I also expect him to build on the work done to date by MW etc. Hopefully Pedro will clearly identify some short term fixes ie. defensive training, finishing etc. Areas that can be addressed with the current players. Depending on how that goes, will determine any new players to be brought in. IF he can get the defence working as a cohesive unit, there may not be a massive need to strengthen - maybe just a bit of backup. I still maintain that our current squad have the ability to really push Ceptic and to take care of the other teams with relative ease....Firstly, the squad need to believe that, secondly, they need to show it on a much more consistent basis - 10-15min flashes of ability are simply not good enough. Ultimately, Pedro must identify who can step up & who can't. Longer term, he needs a clear vision of what he wants his team(s) to look like & perform. Identify weaknesses in the Scottish game that can be exploited to our advantage.

Dave King may have to offer you 20p for your shares

would that not only be the case if they DIDN'T offer the other other shareholders???
