And what exactly will ANY of that achieve???? They will still produce the same stuff anyway.
-
so...what does anyone propose happens??? The bottom line is that pundits and personal columns in the press get round any accusations by saying it is personal opinion & not that of the broadcaster/publisher - case closed. Ban them & they talk/write about it anyway, possibly with a more bitter slant. Include them MORE??? Feed them exclusives etc & hope that they take a more favourable view - it may work, but it will pi55 of the fans. I hear a lot of moaning about the press, but so far NO ideas on how to effectively tackle it.
-
These guys are paid to give their opinions - a ban won't stop that. If anything it may make them more bitter. It's a tricky one.....they will still spout their mince whether they are allowed in or not.
-
Remember, this isn't an official CLUB statement......c1872 have no power to ban anyone or restrict access. they are simply presenting the views of a very large number of fans.

All depends on what someone is willing to pay for him (or any player). We all know that players move for silly money down south, however when those clubs come shopping up here, they pay a fraction of the price. £1.5m is nothing to clubs in the EPL....but how many want to sign Garner??? How many ECL teams want him??? If we want to unload & only one team is offering anything (eg. £500k), what's the best option??? Supply & demand.....
-
Good statement....and exactly why C1872 should be 100% independent of the Club. They can name names, with less repercussions. The media are unable to directly attack the club over any comments made by c1872 as there is no directly connection.

Because he has don't very little to warrant a £500k price tag, never mind, £1.8m..... Bottom line is that we paid WELL over the odds for him in the 1st place. The decision would need to be made as to whether to keep a hold of him & hope that he can do the business, or cut our losses & move on....I favour the latter.

Pedro has mentioned several times, that he came in early in order to assess the squad etc.

It's a case of taking it a step at a time. We have achieved out main goal of getting into the Euro draws, we now need to see how far we can ride that wave. There should be more funds available this season for players, so the squad SHOULD improve considerably. This will then provide the boost for next season, and another step up.

Trying to put a positive spin on it...MW provided the club with another stepping stone, which allowed us to finish 3rd in out 1st season back in the SPFL. It is evident now that the current squad is NOT capable of doing much better than that. PC now needs to build on that again to assemble a squad that is firstly capable of really cementing that position as an absolute minimum, but secondly (more importantly) pushing us into a much more comfortable 2nd place & ideally pushing Ceptic an awful lot more that anyone did this season. Next season I would expect us to be pushing for 50% of the points from the OF games and keeping that points gap to a much more realistic figure. It's all about building step by step....if we try to run before we can walk, the results could be disastrous.

I think the main problem is that the players themselves are simply not good enough. They ARE good enough to show the required quality on occasion, but not to do it consistently. This being the case, no manager will be able to improve them. Comparisons have been made to when Brenda arrived across the city.....the main difference being they already had decent-good players, it's just that they weren't performing - they had spent notable cash sums over the years on those players. Our situation is different. We have a very constricted income streams & therefore are very restricted on the players we can bring in. Over the past few years, the standard of player has increased, and hopefully will take another step forward this summer window. Simply being back in the top flight will have increased our revenue stream again, which allows more cash for players. PC needs to bring in Quality over quantity. Any players that come in must offer a much higher level of consistency that what we currently have. Everyone says that the league title is a marathon, not a sprint.....we have shown this season that we can perform in the odd sprint, but overall, we're more geared for middle distance running - That MUST change. We have shown that we can beat the rest & give Ceptic a scare or two, now we must be able to do it consistently & renew the oppositions fear of playing us. Another thing that PC must ensure is that any new players understand the game & have a technical competency - PC likes detail & technical analysis.....if the players are unable to grasp what he's talking about & how he wants them to play, they it simply won't work. The players need to fully understand the theory before implementing the practical. A player can have all the tricks etc, but it's useless if he cannae tie his own shoe laces.. Last nights game simply highlighted that our current team does not have the overall skill level to maintain the higher standard required. Windass & Tav have certainly come across as players who are below the standard required - they can show glimpses of brilliance, but are unable to maintain consistency. Tav was outstanding last season in the Championship, which I believe is close to his level. Windass would have probably been the same. Garner, IMHO, is a waste of space. I have seen nothing from him that indicates he is going to be regular goal threat. Jury's still out on Dodoo for me. I thought the young last have come in, done well & will hopefully be given the chance to improve and show PC that they can be part of his plans going forward. They have definitely NOT been any worse or inconsistent that any of the players they have replaced. Young Barjonas look positive.

I'm sure Waldo played as a CB @ Hearts for a while....I'm sure I read/heard somewhere that it was his preferred position (but probably wrong)

I find it amusing how the media interpret interviews.... Based on the bits in bold (above), PC has merely stated that he likes the look of Ryan Jack, but is also looking at 6 or 7 other, similar players.....How does that equate to him being a definite target??? Maybe a wee bit of deflection - point the media towards RJ, then sign someone completely different???
-
Out main concern for nest season is beating the rest. It then predominantly comes down to the OF matches. We have simply dropped too many points to other teams this season, where as they haven't.
-
No need for the club to apologise for one or two fans behaviour.....a swift & decisive statement condoning the action, affirming the clubs stance on racism & immediate actions against the perpetrators should have sufficed.
-
I would disagree (slightly).....we do need to bulk up the squad in order to maximise chances for the Euro qualifiers. However, these may not be any big name/money signings. IF we manage to negotiate the qualifiers & get into the group stages we will then be guaranteed £Xm from the competition - this would effectively allow the board to authorise a bigger spending budget based on guaranteed income & lure of Euro matches.
-
Typical fans....They complain when one manager doesn't have a plan B......then complain when a new manager tries to implement plan B & Plan C. My impression of PC is that he is very technical with his approach to the game. He appears to be trying to get players to play & move in a very specific manner & to see spaces & opportunities. The flaw in this plan is the many of the current players do not seem to be able to firstly comprehend what he is trying to do & secondly (as a result of point 1) are unable to effectively execute it on the park. Essentially, many of the players are more used to playing with purely their feet & not their heads. Hopefully PC will be able to bring in more "intelligent" (in a footballing sense) players who can see & understand clearly the technical requirements. They may then be able to pass that on in a more practical sense to the others. If this way of playing works and is implemented long term through the academy, we will then be in a better position to produce real quality players that can go on to play at the highest level.

How can wealthy ex-Gers players help put money back into the club?
Darthter replied to 917's topic in Rangers Chat
That is what is happening, and why we haven't splashed multi-millions on players - there isn't the infrastructure to back it up yet.
