Look at it this way....the club release a statement as you suggest. The the date mentioned arrives, and there's no pics or conformation....or something arises and the deal falls through. The club then gets pelters for messing up/releasing bad info etc. Best thing to do is wait until its all 100% confirmed/signed. Then announce that the deal is done.

I think with the 2 Mexican, they may hold off until they physically have their work permits. Also get the impression that they headed home pretty quickly, so they may not have any "promotional" photos with strips/scarfs etc.

Unfortunately, we don't know that for sure until we see them play. While it's true that we are paying considerably more than we have the past few years, that is no guarantee of increased quality - £1.8m for Garner???

Can someone please explain how he could agree a deal with ticketus for season ticket money before he actually owned the club.....and how could CW provide proof of funding without receiving the Ticketus money previous to the sale going through???

and hopefully identified players who can understand/adapt to his rather technical way of thinking....

I believe that was one of the reason why AJ was brought in - he was very well connected.....but he still failed to attract the investment, or even the interest required.

I think Wilson is a decent player, but as DB says, we need players above that level who can maintain consistence over the course of a season. PC has identified that failing & hopefully bringing in players of the required calibre to do that. I don't know anything really about the new players, either signed or immanent, but they certainly appear to be of a higher standard than what was brought in over the past couple of years. Time will tell how they work out.

He obviously did enough to earn himself the Captain's armband....and lead the team to win promotion from the Championship.

My only real reservation about AJ.... One of his main roles was to secure investment, and potential new owners. I think it's safe to safe that he failed on both those counts. There were plans to tap into his "sports network" in order to achieve the above, but it was ultimately pointless. On the plus side, he was vocal about selling to CW, and under his guidance the clubs financials were improving (even without the investments).

within seconds of getting to Air on last nights Clyde SSB, a caller pulled out the "Sporting Integrity" card - I nearly crashed the car for laughing. He tried to put his point across very calmly, and clearly.....but underneath you could tell he was absolutely ragin'.

Folk are constantly going on about "transparency" & "fan integration" etc....and now the club is requesting fan input, they get criticised for it. Asking the fan-based & regular visitors to Ibrox, what needs to be worked on allows the club to priorities the work & improves the fans matchday experience.

On paper....Things are very exciting. But I will always be a bit wary until we actually see them play. We have seen many players over the years come in with high expectations/reputations, yet fail to set the heather alight. I think so far though, PC appears to have identified key areas, and is certainly trying to bring in a much higher calibre of player for those spots. This should have a massive impact on the existing fringe players - as demonstrated by Ceptic last year.....they brought in a couple of key, high quality players that lifted the whole team. The way things are going we are bringing in a high quality "spine" that should seen very notable difference on the pitch.

Did PC not comment on that when 1st in the door??? Asked Waldo who the vice-captain was - Miller.....then who??? It was then given to Halliday as Vice-Vice-Captain. PC had said something along the lines that he wanted multiple captains to provide cover for injury/substitution etc, but also to assist leadership on the field - which makes perfect sense.

Lafferty was never a particularly good/prolific player, the 1st time round....and there is ZERO evidence to suggest it would be any different not.

That type of player wouldn't last 5mins in the "modern" game - too many prima donas, who get injured if the wind changes direction.

I think we might go for 2 marquee-type (permanent) signings & push the boat out for them, then followed by 3-4 "smart" signings - guys like Dorrans who are better than what we've currently got, but available for free. A couple of very influential signings can make a massive difference to the rest of the existing players.

Agree....essentially, don't provide them with shit to write about. We are our own worst enemy at times.
