RFC negotiate new 12 month retail deal with Sports Direct
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
so....if Rangers' desperation for cash, they managed to "cobble" together a deal that removed SD's financial dominance from the old agreement & managed to get a deal which is much more heavily weighted in favour of us....all on the back of potential law suits from Puma AND SD.....yet we came out on top despite our desperation's....:roflmao2: Why can those in the dirty end of town not just accept "oor boys done good", and we're well on the way to giving them a right good kick up the arse!!!! -

King mentioned that the SD deal is for 1year, which ties in with the Puma deal. They will monitor the deal & assess market accordingly. -

I fear that folk may be over-analysing this.... Possible way forward....both RFC & SD order stock directly from Puma. SD sell through their outlets, RFC through theirs. SD provide logistic and retail assistance where/when required and also a little bit extra from Megastore sales to sweeten the overall deal for them. Ultimately, the proof of the deal with come via the next applicable accounts. -
I partially disagree.... I think pre-season games are ONLY about performance.....They are about how the team is building towards the start of the season etc. The manager will be looking to see players that are hungry to play & keen to show they they should be 1st pick. It's about the team working together as a (eh) Team. The manager will be wanting to see these performances increase with every game they play, building them up so that they are ready for competitive action. As with most things, if the Team gets the preparation & performance correct, then results will follow.
-
With these kind of games, the end scoreline is virtually irrelevant. What is important is HOW the players are playing on the pitch....are they playing according to PC's instructions etc?? are they working together?? are they putting in the required effort?? Get all that in place and the result will follow.

Excellent...Looking forward to seeing what the lad can do for us!!!

Officially, Pena & Herrera have signed, pending work permits. We don't know for certain about Morelos, but it does look like he's signing - as far as I'm aware, there is nothing stopping him training with us, whether he's signed or not...he just can't play in formal games. As for the squad....does PC take a calculated risk possibly in including the 3 in his squad submission for round 1??? Can they be formally included if they don't 100% have their work permits & what if they still don't have it fully finalised before the 1st game. That would mean 3 squad places wasted as they wouldn't be able to play. or....does PC leave them out of the R1 squad, and utilise what he has currently available???
-
When is the deadline for new signings for early stage of Europa league...is it not today??? How will the signings of Pena, Herrera & Morelos work, given that their work permits don't appear to be 100% finalised yet???
-
Think he was more saying that Gualds position is already well covered & would rather utilise his (self-imposed) loan limit with a different position.
-
Regardless of the score....how did the team(s) perform???
-
Why should they HAVE to disclose a fee??? Its a business transaction.
-
Good....complete waste of money imho.

Too many IFs in those statements for me.... We should pay what he is worth now....not what he could be worth, or what he may do in the future. There is no way that he is worth £1m....I could understand it if Hearts had a good run in Europe of he finished top Scot goalscorer, or he was a regular international....but he's not any of those, and he's in his final year of contract. £250k MAX for me.
-
TBH, I haven't see the lad play....but entering last year of contract....mid-table Scottish team......player unproven at higher level (latter stages of cups, Europe etc).....we shouldn't be offering any more than £250k TOPS We should hold off until Dec & get him on a pre-contract....if we miss out, so be it.
-
How on earth can a team like Hearts command a fee of £1m for any of their players......yet ANY our players are lucky if they get valued anywhere £500k??? Talks of Garner going for £500k, Windass fro £250k etc. I always believed the fees were initially derived from a players remaining contract, wages etc. I would be telling Hearts to stick their player if that is their valuation. IF we paid that, we would NEVER be able to recover near that in any sell on deal.

Is Aberdeen's "Cycle" coming to an end??? We won't know that until we see the team play & how they do in the league. As PC pointed out, their team has been quite settled over the past couple of years, but they have lost a number of 1st team regulars already this window. The key for McInnes (if he stays) will be gelling a new squad back together. You could argue that we are in the same position, given the number of signings, but I would argue that we have brough it a higher quality of player than Aberdeen will, so hopefully will gel together better/more effectively.
