  1. We certainly don't need them to boost squad numbers, but you can never rule them out completely.
  2. The whole point of a player going out on load, is to get game time.....the parent club wouldn't be overly happy if their player is brought in as backup only.
  3. The same answer applies to both questions: "It's an internal matter & will be addressed accordingly."
  4. cos HMRC change the rules & applied them retrospectively.
  5. A key section in bold.... According to the Supreme Court ruling, I believe it specifically states about the legality of the EBT in use - in that they were 100% legal. The ruling simply means that tax should have been paid. There has been no breaking of SFA/SPL rules, therefore how can sanctions be applied. LNS's commission found that there were some details that were undisclosed ie. side letters, and RFC were fined accordingly for that administrative error.
  6. Didn't know we were competing against the Tax man???
  7. HA HA HA HA....made me laugh..... Nae chance....plenty of folk out there just getting warmed up against us.
  8. ANOTHER point of note..... At the time that the EBTs were in use....they were 100% legitimate. It was only when HMRC changed the rules & applied them retrospectively that a problem arose. Imagine the chaos if the football authorities changed the offside rule & applied it retrospectively.... so again from a footballing point of view, any "advantage" that may have been gained, was completely above board, declared in the accounts & available to every other team if they had wanted. The football authorities have no jurisdiction to pass judgement on legal taxation issues. I would imagine this would change if the outcome had been ruled illegal (which it's not).
  9. ...and what exactly are JJ & Murty's vastly superior qualifications for the job???
  10. Here's another thought.... Can RFC effectively be investigated/sanctioned for a 2nd time over the SAME issue??? The SPL instigated a commission, they returned a verdict & action was taken (fine imposed) - case closed. Now from a footballing point of view, has there been ANY change of evidence/circumstances which effects the SPL commissions ruling. The SPL commission was not ruling on legal taxation matters, the same as the Supreme Court was.....
  11. but was the SFL taken over or completely disbanded with it's previous members joining the SPFL???
  12. According to that list, tax owed on PLAYERS comes to £13.75m (taking out Murray & Advocaat). Given that the amount of cash that was being paid for players at the time, the fact that the club had already paid approx £27m into the EBT scheme, and they had enough cash to shell out £12m on Flo....I would assume that paying the Tax would not have been a problem. In order to ascertain the level of advantage, the SPFL would need to work out what effect those players had on games (IMHO). If RFC won a game 4-0, with one of the goals or an assist coming from a player with an EBT, how does that one player effect the outcome of the match - what advantage does he give??? Also, good luck convincing anyone that Kevin Muscat, Nuno Capucho, Julien Rodrigez or Michael Ball gave us ANY advantage. Would love to see the media scandal (no laughing at the back) if anyone tried to pursue Fernando Ricksen for his tax money.
  13. I would love to see the SPFL's plan for title stripping.... You simply can't just change the record books to say that Ceptic won the league in season xx/yy. There's knock on effects. In the seasons that they perceive us to have gained an unfair advantage, that advantaged applied to ALL games, therefore, points awarded throughout the season would need to be re-adjusted. The end result being that the entire league could look different, What if Rangers beat the team that was ultimately relegated, but with a re-distribution of points turns out that they would have stayed up - who's gonna calculate the difference in earnings for that team. Giving Titles to Ceptic has MANY, MANY more ramifications than scoring out a name in the record books. On the plus side, if the SFA have said there's no further actions.....and Scottish Cups won during the period are safe. Also, who was running the league at the time in questions??? The SFL are no longer in existence!!!!
  14. The overriding belief is that the use of EBTs gave us an unfair advantage over other team....no one cares if the y were evasion or avoidance. Non of them care that RFC still had to she'll out millions to put into the EBTs. None of them care about the millions that were paid in wages & tax.... They (Ceptic) will do everything in their power to get titles stripped, even though they were beaten fair & square on the park.
  15. Aye....the TV companies saw last nights game & ditched the coverage
  16. Not necessarily....he's still young, so they will most likely wanting him out on loan for experience & development. Whether he then is deemed worthy of running out for Benfica - that's up to them.
  17. The current issues at the club are nothing to do with anyone else, the league we're playing in or Association we're affiliated to......none of them have influence over how our players operate on the park. The SFA/SPL don't effect our inability to shoot at the goal, or defend a corner. but if you'd rather blame everyone else, then so be it.
  18. Ok....so PC gets the sack & McInnes is brought in. What happens if he loses the 1st game of the season??? Then poor performance in the 2nd, 4rd etc....Everyone will be saying it's the poor players, they don't have the quality....but they'll lay off the manager for a bit, coz that's who the fans wanted. The season progresses, we scrape through a few rounds of the cups, sit 2nd in table, a couple of points above Aberdeen, Ceptic already have a clear lead and we haven't challenged them at all - 1st OF game a comfortable win for them. What then??? I feel there is something bigger at play than just what the manager & players are doing. Over recent years, we have seen several managers & many players come through the doors, yet the same basic problems exist - shoddy defence & poor finishing. I find it strange that with so many personnel changes, the same issues are inherent in each team....
  19. Different personnel, same old problems - slack defending, poor finishing & all round lacklustre performance. There seemed to be a distinct lack of the forwards to attempt shots on goal. There was a spell at the end where Windass had the ball in the box, in what looked at good position & the commentator was screaming for him to shoot. Instead he opted to pass to someone else and the whole thing fell apart. I have never been one to blame the manager & I ain't gonna start now.....IMHO, the biggest blame lays at the feet of the players. I don't believe that PC's instructions were to go out & play in such a pi55-poor manner. Regardless of whether it's technically still pre-season or not, given the level of players we have & the wages they are being paid, sweeping Progres aside should NOT have been a problem. Giving them some credit, they were well organised & generally played well. The defended strongly & took their chances when they came up.....but we are RANGERS, and the sooner these players realise that, the better. Would be interesting to see some of the team analysis from the game wrt distance covered, passes completed etc. I think it would make some grim reading. So what next....New manager?? I don't think so. Constantly changing the management team would be just as detrimental to performance as plowing on. PC must be given a chance to prove that HIS players have what it takes to succeed. I t could have been argued that at the end of last season, he was working with MW's duds...well now he has recruited (at considerable expense) his own choice of players, so must be given the chance to get them working.
  20. Anyone know of any radio stations (internet/DAB/FM/AM) covering tonight's match???
  21. I think the forward line might change.... PC seemed happy with def & Mid, so may leave that the same as 1st leg. If the forwards are changed, who comes in is the big question.... - Do you put Miller in the centre & bring in Candeias on the wing?? - Do you keep Miller wide & put Morelos in the middle?? - Do you keep Miller wide & put Herrera in the middle?? - Do you put Candeias wide with Morelos in the middle?? - Do you put Candeias wide with Herrera in the middle?? I don't think Miller will be dropped from the starting line up though... Options, Options, Options.....
  22. I've said that for years.....we "buy high, Sell low".
  23. I've just worked out why WATP is classed as sectarian.... We are the PEOPLE.... People follow religion..... Religion causes sectarianism.... Boom - there's your answer!!!
  24. What exactly is sectarian about WATP???
  25. That should apply to ALL players. A match-winner doesn't have to be a piece of sublime skill etc - it can just as easily be a simple pass, or a well timed cross. As I said, If the team start to rely on a single player, they then become lost without them. ALL players should be encouraged to look for Match-winning balls/performances. Ultimately every single players job is to win the match!!!!
