getting in Stokes' way obviously
-
That makes the whole incident crystal clear....why on earth did Jack have his throay in that position??? Clearly Stokes was at great risk of finger ligament damage or maybe breaking a nail.....

<Pedantic Mode ON> There are NO British teams.....RFC are a SCOTTISH TEAM - they play in Scotland, within the SCOTTISH FA. As are Hibs, Ceptic, Aberdeen etc. <Pedantic mode OFF/>

But didn't we get a player sent off (2nd yellow) for celebrating a goal with a fist-pump in the centre circle, directed towards our own fans??? Unless I'm mistaken, the Hibs fans were no where near the full direction the Lemon was gesturing.....

BREAKING NEWS Rangers v Hibs games under investigation following reports that Hibs fielded an ineligible player. Early reports suggest questions have been asked as to whether John Beaton's details had been properly registered with the SFA/SPFL in time for the match. Speaking after the full time whistle, Hibs manager Kneel Lemon, stated that he thought Beaton has a fantastic game and his performance was a major factor in his tems win. Mr Lemon is hopeful that Beaton will maintain that level of performance throughout the season. Peter Liewell commented the his bhoys performance was also top drawer. In other news, Rangers face a hefty fine from the authorities after starting the game in excellent fashion. Mr Liewell also comment "We can't be having that kind of behaviour from them - that kind of play just makes a mockery of the game in this country and we will clamp down heavily before it gets out of hand. Gers boss Petdro Caixhina also faces a fine for simply breathing.

Regardless of who our manager is, there are always folk looking for his head after a defeat.
-
We got beaten....I can live with that. I would say that credit must go to our players....they kept fighting till the end, and even pulled a goal back then a couple of decent chances to equalise. I think if it wasn't for the sending off, it would have been a fairly comfortable win & it certainly bodes well for future games. It was always going to be difficult with the Ref's performance. Just seen the Jack clip again....His initial tussle with McGeoch (I think), was nothing, the hibs player didn't even register anything happening. Then there was a coming together with Stokes....with Stokes leading with the head - Jacks head DOESN'T move. Jack moves away, followed by Stokes, who again is leading with his head. If ANY red cards should have been shown at that point, it should have been to Stokes. I am confident that any appeal against the card will be successful.......

The ref has been a joke.... Stokes on Tav, was nothing short of assault. Try that on Buchanan St, and you'll get lifted. Jack was never a sending off - he didn't do anything to warrant a yellow, never mind a straight red. on the flip side, plenty of Hibs players deserving of yellows for consistent fouling. Getting a win will be difficult, but would be an outstanding achievement considering its 12v10....

Our fullbacks shouldn't be a problem - if they maintain their positions. However, with the better quality CB's we now have, cover should be less of a problem than last couple of years.

Wallace won't play, but if Hodson plays like he did the other, Waldo won't be missed. I think we may see Jack & Rossiter alternated fairly regularly, if both continue to play well. Windass will start - he has earned it. Up front I think it will be Miller & Morelos starting. I felt that Morelos offered a much greater goal threat than Herrera has done so far....and we need goals if we want to win matches. From what I have seen of Miller & Herrera together, they are too similar in their play - they will cause chaos for the opposing defence, but don't tend to offer a consistent scoring threat. Morelos on the other had, was right in the thick of ANY goal-mouth action, looking to stick the ball in the net. Overall, I think that IF we maintain our pressing game etc & do it for the whole game, we will run out comfortable winners.
-
I think we may have that with Herrera.... Compared to Morelos' performance last night, I don't see Herrera as an out 'n out scorer.
-
Absolute minimum!!! Starting price @ £10m
-
Morelos scored like 46 in 62 games in Finland - that's a good scoring rate. He's also scored 2 in 4 for RFC, with one of those appearances consisting of about 5mins. Was last night his 1st start??? Miller has never been a prolific scorer, but should still return about 15 goals per season. Herrera...don't know. Possibly a similar player to Miller, but he needs to get a 1st goal on the board & we'll see how he responds.

one & a half good performances, does not equal success!!! However, the signs are very promising!!! The most important thing for PC to do, is to ensure that the team are consistent from game to game. There is no good being excellent in one, then flop in the next - the team must maintain performance levels. I think that was evident last night....PC did not let the players ease off, even at 5-0....he kept shouting, directing etc pushing for another goal and to maintain the pressing & general level of play. There is a LOT of football to be played between now & May....lets just see how PC gets on.
-
I got the impression from PC's presser that Pena is maybe struggling to settle here....maybe language, maybe more.
-
First & foremost....we MUST win - doesn't matter if it's by one goal or 10. If we can control the whole game like we did the 1st half against 'Well, it won't be a problem. the team will settle & hopefully bag a few goals for a comfortable victory. I would definitely like to see what Herrera & Morelos can offer as a pairing. Maybe drop KM to the bench for this one. As for Niko, great that he's back in the squad, but given Windass, Jack & Dorrens performances last week, who would you drop to get Niko in??
-
They SHOULD be made more prominent, otherwise it's a pointless, box-ticking exercise.
-
Totally....Their readers will already have read the original article and formed their "educated & factual" opinions - how many will even see, never mind actually read the retraction???
-
All footballers....."Oooo, I've got to play 3 games of football in 12 days....how will I cope"
-
The Special Forces use exercises like this all the time....as JohnMc says, it's about the psychological benefits rather than pure physical. Take the participants to breaking point, then push them past it - thats how you get to the top of yer game. I've seen videos of Chris Hoy doing exactly them same thing -on the bike then collapsing off & throwing up. Nowadays, it's all about numbers & statistics. Get the players up to a certain fitness level (as defined by computer), and keep them there...no need to push them any further. However (IMHO) as a result of this, we end up with the excuse "The players were tired". For any professional player, 90min of football should not be a problem, at whatever stage of the season. They don't have that mental fortitude to carry on/push themselves, so they stop.
-
A story WILL be made out of it though, that's the problem. It's not difficult for the SFA to stand their ground & a token response is all that's required - maybe even throw it back at them..."Are you REALLY questioning one of Scotland's leading QC's??" The whole thing needs dealt with once & for all by the SFA & SPFL, otherwise it will fester on & on. Ultimately, both bodies have made their position clear already, but a direct response shutting down this guys "issues" is definitely required. I also think that the RFC lawyers should be looking closely are is accusations & taking action is needs be.
-
These sort of ramblings MUST be dealt with. Official complaint(s) should be lodged with the SFA by the Club & Club1872 (and possibly by fans as well). I can kinda understand why the SFA haven't responded - hopefully coz they recognise it for the pich that it is - however, some kind of response should be issued. They should point out that they are not a Publically owned body, and as such have zero requirement to make public ANY internal documentation etc and that the LNS investigation was independently run & completed to the highest of standards.
