  1. Probably where they make most of their cash from....
  2. but the modern/current association of the term is on a religious basis. So, rather than wasting time & effort trying to convince the authorities etc of it's potentially proper meaning.....just remove it altogether. If it's not there, there is no need to debate it's origins or meaning. What significance does that particular word/phrase have to the players on the park??? Are they going to feel less inspired if it is changed to something else??? I think it is time for some to realise that certain battles are just not worth fighting....its time for the lyrics to be updated to something that is more relevant to the team & less divisive across supporters.
  3. It's true that nothing beats "Hullo Hullo" being belted out by 40k fans. What is also true is that football authorities at home & abroad believe it to be unacceptable to sing. That being the case, why not just change the words - remove the parts that the authorities deem to be offensive. If nothing "offensive" is being sung, folk can try & complain, but ultimately there is nothing to complain about..... Remove any religious connotations & make it about The Club....
  4. I wonder if the Florida trip was almost a last throw of the dice for Dalcio - a last chance to prove that he's got something to offer. Wouldn't surprise me if his loan is cancelled once the team return. From what I saw of last nights game, he was useless.

  6. I'm sure the Beatles might have something to say as well about the use of their imagery....
  7. I do agree with that, however, if the Club start "flooding" the info marketplace with positive stories but nothing (or very little) is reported in the MSM, then it gives the club solid grounds for complaint ie. you reported x-number of untrue stories, but didn't mention y-number legit stories. If we complain about the false stories, the media could simply respond by saying "then give us something else to report on..."
  8. I think in the recent "Admin" case, and others like it....The club simply issuing statements saying the rumours aren't true, won't have ANY effect on the situation. I think the rumours need to be combated with positive reports & statements from the club. Ones like bringing in 3 new youth coaches, really pushing the Florida Cup thing, the ongoing improvements @ Auchenhowie etc. Really highlighting all the good things that are going on at the club, get that into the media & papers. That way anyone doing their research on the club will be hit with multiple, ongoing positive reports which effectively shoot down the various negative reports....
  9. Obviously our results are vital in the 2nd half of the season....however, Ceptic are not doing overly well themselves - they have been dropping a fairly substantial amount of points through multiple drawn matches. As long as they continue to do that, the gap will certainly not widen....but gives us even incentive to draw closer.
  10. I think the manager will have the ultimate say in who he WANTS to sign. That will be reported back to the DoF who will present the board with a 1,2,3-type list of targets. It then comes down to the Board & DoF to negotiation who they can get.
  11. The manager doesn't deal with the board...he deals with the DoF. Between them, they decide on new signing etc. The DoF then puts it to the board & takes care of the admin & negotiations. Freeing up the manager to look after tactics & training etc. The DoF is the conduit between the manager and the boardroom - between trackies & suits (if you will)
  12. In general, I'd agree with That....but a lot of what is going on isn't about the odd dubious decision. It's blatant "mistakes" That are coating us points & in some cases posing a risk to player safety.
  13. That's no excuse....our players should be training harder, longer & more intensly than everyone else.
  14. Nobody else find this very concerning??? Professional players, physically struggling to complete a full 90min game of football...
  15. The key for me is to be pro-active with the ball....players constantly moving into space & making the opposition do the running about. Lately we have been far too reactive & slow moving the ball. Player are getting the ball, then waiting to see what the opposing players do to get it back. We also need to be pressing high & challenging for every ball....get right in their faces and not give them a seconds peace. The less time we give them on the ball, the more likely they are to make mistakes.
  16. No he wouldn't....his form, skill etc would disappear the second he signed....that appears to be the norm for the past few years.
  17. I felt we were VERY reactive yesterday....even when we had the ball, we were never in control - simply responding to whatever Killie did. As a result we were unable to build any momentum etc. I think this is something that goes deeper than just the manager. It points to flaws throughout the entire process personnel, training, nutrition, team building, recruitment, match preparation etc. The same issues have been there from McCoist, McCall, Caixhina an now Murty.
  18. The manager should ALWAYS have the final say.....
  19. RANGERS have agreed a three and a half year contract with Declan John to make his loan deal permanent. The 22-year-old jumped at the chance to head to Ibrox on loan in the summer as he looked for regular first team football. The full back has played 14 times since arriving and scored two goals against Hamilton in only his third match for the Light Blues. In the absence of regular skipper Lee Wallace, John has become a fixture in the side at left back. The former Cardiff City defender is a Welsh international with two caps for the senior side, and will now remain at Ibrox until the summer of 2021.
  20. For me, it's more a case of looking forward, not backwards. Naismith had his spell at the club and jumped ship. He did well when he was here, but would he do well again??? There have been many examples over the years of players joining us to see out their careers, all the while receiving generous pay packets and at times giving little in return. From memory he's also quite injury prone - certainly been out for a large part of this season with ankle ligament problem. 32 apps (5 goals) for Norwich since signing in Jan 2016 - thats not a whole lot of games.
  21. I would like to think that more information was disclosed during the meeting, but the minutes/summary are disappointingly presented. I could fully understand the answers as noted, if C1872 was just another run of the mill supporters association, but it's not. It is a major shareholder in the club and as such it deserves much more detailed answers.
  22. I think it's normally just the managers assistants that tend to leave. Specialist coaches - GK, Fitness etc tend to stay.
  23. I would say that is as much, if not more to do with the environment & the coaching staff than the individual. Players are (primarily) sign based on their ability, if the player can't display that ability at our club, it's not because he has suddenly lost it. I would very much doubt that a pro-footballer wouldn't relish the opportunity to play in front of 50k fans on a Saturday afternoon. Look at how many teams over the years have changed Manager/backroom staff, then without changing players, turn into a match winning side - again Ceptic are a good example. Not because they suddenly brought in a whole raft of £3-4m players, but because they got the backroom/off-field stuff right. If players trip over the ball with us, then join a rival team & suddenly run rings round our players - in the same, if not more hostile environment as before, than again that's not a fault with the player.
  24. I disagree.....Player funds & better quality players are not the problem in the SPFL. We were just humped by St Johnstone.....we've also been humped by Hamilton....do these teams have better players than us??? The player pool that we have is more than capable of being competitive in Scotland. I believe we've dropped 16 points at home this season, and only sitting 5pts behind the league leaders. What we are lacking is cohesiveness & consistency - exactly what Ceptic brought in with Brenda. They haven't brought in a raft of new players, many of them are still from Delia's time, yet he has them playing consistently and cohesively. I believe that the longer the recruitment goes on for, the more pressure the Board will find themselves under. They have said they will take their time to get the right person in.....after 2 months, he BETTER be the right person, otherwise I think it would be justified for heads to roll. Also I think that ANY manager appointment should be initially until the end of the season (with options to extend notably longer)....we don't want to be in a situation where the new man turns out to be a dud & we're faced with a heft pay off.
  25. Disappointed in the RFC board....it's been 24hrs now since the Invincible's run was ended, and not a word of apology from Rangers (coz it's obviously our fault). I'm sure the compliance officer will find something to fine us for :roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2:
