The January Transfer Window Rumours and Deals Thread

I'm glad that he's getting those chances to miss....it shows that he's getting into the right positions etc. I'm sure you'll find that most successful strikers miss the majority of their chances. The more chances he gets, the more he will actually put them away. -

Hopefully the club will be sitting down with Morelos & talking over his future plans - if both parties are open & honest, in works best for everyone. If he states that he would like a move in the summer, then it should be pointed out that if he plays well & increases interest, then the club will actively try & achieve the best deal for him. As it stands, he is under contract for another 2 years(??) so if the club don't want to sell him, theres nothing he can do about it (other than "withdraw his labour", but that just hampers his future options. I think we will struggle to bring anyone in to replace him, given the time scale. Therefore, I'd be telling everyone, he's not for sale....or stick a completely ridiculous value on him - £50+. Fact is, he's a very important player for us and his goals could proving vital in the latter stages of the league & cups. -

I would like to see Morelos stay....regardless of the money offered for him. He's going a great job for us, and by rejecting £6m+ offers, it shows that we are in a strong position & that we value the player an awful lot more. Also, by holding onto him just now, it gives more time to identify suitable replacements & hopefully drive up Morelos' price tag. -
I read one report saying around £300k.....
-
DK always maintained the investment was over a 5yr period. (I think)
-
Can't see that happening or certainly not very often. In current form, Morelos will be no.1 pick, most likely with Cummings being brough on later to provide that freshness...
-
From what I saw on Wed, Cummings is a MUCH better prospect for doing that than Miller.....
-
If he moves just now, we'd still get a fee for him.....

one comment did make me chuckle....

How many teams from the lowest tier regularly produce players that go on to bigger/better things??? Even when we were in the lower leagues, our players were not considered for Scotland call-ups due to oppositions they were playing. The sustained, guaranteed extra cash for these wee teams will be a godsend for them, maybe even enabling them to improve their setups which will allow them to produce/attract better quality players, which in turn proves a better challenge to the B-sides, which in turn produces better players - The Circle of Life.

First game I've been to in a while....and did it in some style - Corporate Hospitality in the Argyll suite!!! Thought the new guys did very well - Martin was solid in defence, with both Murphy & Goss putting in good shifts as well. Windass played very well also, but I think Murty should instruct Windas, Murphy & Candeias to be more direct in their running. There were multiple times when they received the ball in space, started running then basically stopped & passed squarely. The problem these days is that most players can't tackle, so when faced with a pacey player running straight at them, they either don't know what to do or they make a silly challenge resulting in a free kick/penalty. Windass, Murphy & Candeias should be driving towards the box at EVERY opportunity and putting the opposing defenders under pressure which they will struggle to cope with. Morelos is a handful for defenders - very physical & won't shy away from a challenge. All willing to run down every ball. Had a couple of clear chances which he didn't convert....but at least he's getting them in the 1st place. He certainly wasn't happy when subbed - made his way straight down the tunnel until grabbed into the dugout. Cummings looked keen, but a wee bit ineffective (more to do with general play at the time I think). Appears to be much less physical than Morelos, but seems faster and will prove to be tricky for defenders to keep track of. I think our biggest problem was after the 2nd goal. We lost a lot of control & allowed Aberdeen back into the match & allowed them more chances (fortunately saved VERY well by Wes). This may have been more of a result of the delay for the Aberdeen keeper than anything else. The concern obviously being that better teams would have capitalised more. All in an good performance.... -

Was heading straight down the tunnel until someone grabbed him into the dugout. -

Having a sell on clause is a great way to potentially bring in considerably more cash, for doing nothing - look at the windfall Ceptic got from that defender - something in the region of £9m. -

I don't think the club would do much to stand in his way. They could push for £1m+, if they really wanted to....I'm sure Bruno's reputation spreads far & wide and could still command that level of fee regardless of his age. However, the number of clubs willing to pay that would decrease. Realistically £500-£750k would be a decent return. -
How exactly did Rangers "botch" the signing of McInnes??? From what information is publicly available, Rangers made an approach to Aberdeen & were refused permission to speak to McInnes. Does the "botched" part come from the fact that the club didn't operate within the media's preferred time frame???

but we are the rank & file....we will over throw the monarch and so the cycle begins again....

I will have the pleasure of enjoying Corporate hospitality for this game Looking forward to it.

Getting a high price tag out there for Morelos is excellent - something we have sadly not done in previous windows/seasons. We obviously don't want to see him go, but IF he does, it should be for a very tidy profit which will allow us to repeat the cycle. I would say though, compared to the "valuations" for Dumbell-Eh?, £10m is under-rated & an absolute bargain. -

for teams down south, a fee of £3m for Windass should not be a problem. For many/most teams in the Prem/Champ that's pocket change, but they think cause the market up here is so lacking in cash, that they can get away with cut price offers. If I was Rangers, I'd slap a price tag of £5m (min) on Windass, looking to accept anything above £3m for him, They also need to get "increased" figures out into the media. -
Anyone to Rangers = Player Value x 3.....
-
at an absolute minimum.....Using the Ceptic player valuation calculator, he's currently valued at £1.5bn
-
Value est. @ 225,000 Euros = £200,000 A bid of £300k is rather generous then. Killie are simply trying to drive up the price.
-
so...how much does Boyd think Jones is worth??? Hes playing for a team that is fighting to get into the top 6 in the Scottish league. He's really only played for Killie (1 app for Middlesbourgh, 11 apps for Hartlepool (loan) & 1 app for Cambridge Utd (loan)) Scored a grand total of 6 goals Had 1 app for N. Ireland (as a sub) To me going in around the £300k mark is rather generous. I can't see anyone paying over £500k.

Clyde SSB was amusing last night.....Killie fan on complaining about our bid for Jordan Jones - claiming that we always steal Killie players - Naismith, Bell, Boyd. Demanding that Rangers should just pay the asking price & be done with it, rather than "forcing" Killie to take a cut price deal. Then there was a Ceptic fan demanding that Fraser Wishart take off his "Blue tinted glasses" after he commented that he doesn't see Ceptic doing much in this window. The guy was livid as if Wishart was having a serious dig at their club, even when Wishart tried to explain that he felt that they didn't need to do anything or would struggle in this window to bring in players that were better than when they current;y have. Again.....more interested in what we are doing, rather than their own team.... -
by footballs governing bodies!!!! by persisting in using the current wording, all we are doing is providing ammunition for all the haters. Change the words to something with a direct connection to the club, that can't be deemed offensive, then belt it out all game long. To make it even better....get it "approved" by the authorities.
