  1. Definitely Ceptic's standard has dropped, while ours has risen slightly - Possibly giving a truer account of the quality gap between the teams since Aberdeen are only 10pts behind them. There's no doubting that Ceptics season last year was exceptional wrt points dropped. It is also VERY true that we have a HUGE margin for improvement, where as other teams don't - I can't see Ceptics overall quality improving much over the summer - ours on the other hand.....(fingers crossed)
  2. but what was the points gap this time last season...20+??
  3. As far as the fans are concerned...it was unexpected - not even a hint of a rumour from "those in the know". Disagreement within the Board room is indeed health, but a common reason for directors leaving is when general disagreement moves into "no agreement possible" territory. Given the information, that we KNOW, it is totally feasible that Murray & Scott maybe didn't support the appointment of Gerrard & didn't support the direction the rest of the Board wanted to go. It's not a case of reading "more into this than there is"...its extrapolating the most likely reasons from the information/facts that are available. Hopefully it is to make way for a new investor & everything is good, but so far, there is no facts to support this (yet).
  4. So....the next 48hrs. Sound familiar
  5. On a technical level, I think we have a team capable of winning the league (no laughing).....they have the skill & the talent. However, there are massive question marks over whether they have the mental strength to apply those skills & talents over a full season - the evidence would say that they are not capable. Then again, we may find a change of mentality with a different manager.....
  6. I would argue that there IS basis for thinking there's been a disagreement. - All talk of major investment is purely rumour - 2 directors have walked unexpectedly - It looks likely that we will be appointing a very high profile, rookie manager who will want spending money - One of the most common causes for Directors leaving is disagreement. - What other tangible reason could there be? Hopefully it's not a major falling out, but until we have something tangible to suggest otherwise, disagreement is the most likely reason.
  7. but the fans demand transparency, openness & constant communication from the board. The more info or statements the board put out, the more it is dissected & analysed by everyone.
  8. There always been something about Paul Murray that never "sat" right with me. I don't actually think he's a major loss, in terms of board functioning etc. I was never sure what he actually brought to the table (in a business sense). His background is in money & is a chartered accountant, yet doesn't appear to be directly involved in company finance ie. Finance Director. Hopefully, it IS a major investor who is wanting more control/visibility over the finance side of things.
  9. that 9-game run equates to 24% of the season....which is a significant percentage.
  10. I think the most probably reason for them stepping down is some sort of disagreement within the Board - that tends to be the common reason for resignations. Maybe they didn't support the SG approach/appointment, maybe they don't agree with a potential investment "source" or opportunity. Makybe they didn't agree with letting Murty go. Maybe they just think DK's a d*ck & don't want to work with him.
  11. The look on SGs face when asked if he was going to be the next manager speaks volumes....he couldn't help but smile.
  12. The key to being a successful coach/manager is being able to successful communicate your plan to your team/individual. Manager/coaches don't need long pro careers, to have a sound understanding of the game, but the need to know how to convey the information properly.
  13. be interesting to see if there's any notable changes to line-up or tactics.
  14. Can you blame him....everyone else has have a crack
  15. While I do agree, the principal also works in reverse. One team playing really badly, can make the other look like world beaters....
  16. Maybe we will actually get the caretaker/Janny in next
  17. kinda thought that myself when I saw the result...
  18. don't forget the wages (al be it entitled to) he continued to draw while on "gardening leave", even once DK took over.... Then there was the "forgetting" to cast his vote at an AGM, after agreeing to back the new board.
  19. So, SG is apparently questioning what resources he will have at his disposal....sound like normal negotiations to me. There certainly didn't seem to be anything in Murphys comments to say that he wouldn't take the job...
  20. I'm confused.... After Sunday's result, many folk were wanting Murty out the door immediately. Now that it appears to have happened the club is now "amateur & classless", yet if he had stayed on it would have been poor leadership by the board.
  21. Could it almost be a straight swap for Gerrard??? Gers up the package on offer to SG, with the caveat of an immediate start.

    Silence!

and folk wonder why the board don't issue more statements..... Can't remember what AJ said, but clearly the manager situation has changed since then.

    Silence!

Totally agree....it's a no win situation for the club. Say nothing...everyone criticises Say something....everyone criticises So you've gotta thing, whats the benefit of putting out a statement, when all it will do is give the media & fans (own & others) something else to pick holes in. What I would like to think is happening is that there is discussions & analysis going on behind the scenes as to what happened in that match (and the last OF), and how can the pieces be picked up again for the remaining games. Also, driving home to the players & coaches the importance to the club & fans for a strong finish to the season - 2nd place was the main goal this season. I'd be making it clear to players & coaches etc that if that objective is not achieved then if there are any seasonal/performance bonuses etc, they will not be getting paid out.
  24. maybe that's part of the problem???
  25. playing us or not...Ceptic don't tend to change their line up much - even in Europe, he still stuck with his preferred method of play. I'm pretty sure you'll find that most top team don't tend to utilise wholesale formation changes from one week to the next.
