but will there be time to register him before the Maribor game??? Looking forward to seeing him in action - mainly coz of the drawn out process to get him. Hope he's worth it!!!
-
Think that would be good for him - providing that he actually gets game time!!! A lot of folk tend to forget that even though Fleck's name has been around Ibrox for a while he's still only 20....
-
Would agree with that...thought he looked comfortable against Caley & did well against Chelsea.
-
To use the Ebay analogy... In truth, its like using the "buy it now" & "Best Offer) options, while the auction is sitting @ zero, with no reserve price and only 1 person bidding on the auction (rangers bid £0). Orebro have set the buy it now price @ £400k (I think). If Rangers wait till the auction finishes, they pay nothing. They have also put in a "best Offer" of £xxk. The seller either holds firm with the buy it now, and risks getting nothing, or accepts the "best offer" price, and at least gets something.
-
IMHO, going in with a lower offer for Bedoya is a sound move. As others have stated, he WILL be a Rangers player come January....the Pre-Contract has been signed, and the permit granted. if his current club wait, they will get zero, zip, nada for him. Rangers are in the driving seat in a number of ways, they are trying to persuade his current club that they are better getting something for him, than paying his wages for the next 6 months, then he walks. It's similar to the Kenny Millar situation. RFC accepted the bid of £400k or run the risk of getting zero at the end of the season.
-
I'm sure I heard on the Radio last night that he was desperate for more game time in order to keep his Scotland place.....something he's not getting too much of @ Liverpool!!!
-
It sounds like Anderlecht got cold feet, and backed out. Maybe they didn't really expect Rangers to stump up the asking price, then panicked when they did. For once, I don't think the blame is on this side!!!
-
I think they could still do with Cuellar....Bartley's on loan, and Weir will be no longer after this season. Getting Cuellar in now, saves hastle next season.....it would also give fantastic options in the centre of defense.
-
Can either of them play in defence???? coz they wouldn't get played on the wings.....
-
Obviously looking forward, Weir won't be part of any plans. Also Bartley in only gonna be here for the season. So long term basing out Central defence around Goian, Cuellar & Juhasz is a good thing. On the winger front.....judging by who is actually playing on the wings (Edu recently), we definately need another winger. It's an area where we have always seemed to struggle over the past few years. If we can get some good, fast guys in who can deliver a 1/2 decent cross - things will be rosey & Jela/Naisey will bang in the goals.

In the world of football, are we now classed as a small club?
Darthter replied to Gazza_8's topic in Rangers Chat
I have thought that many times....it is even more evident when you watch games from Englandshire. The play seems more open & fluid. Up here, when someone gets the ball, they are generally crunched within a couple of seconds. Players don't get time on the ball. -
May just be me.....but I am getting the impression that United just simply don't want to sell Goodwillie to Rangers!!!! Latest rumours suggest that we are near enough matching Blackburn's offer, yet the deal still appears no further forward. I don't think that even if the initial valuation had been met, he would have signed. Goodwillie may want to sign, but if the club don't want to sell him to a particular club, they don't have to.....

St Johnstone 0 - 2 Rangers - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Darthter replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I thought he did well. Not really challenged too much, but looked confident & composed in possession. Think I only saw one slack pass from him. Looked like he preferred to go the simple passing option, rather than spraying it around the pitch all the time. -
I think the biggest problem with the transfers, is the amount of mis-information, or just plain wrong information!!! Does anyone (other than the clubs involved) know FOR A FACT, how many official bids were made for Goodwillie??? Some reports say 4, others say 1 or 2..... There is so much speculation within the press/media, it is VERY difficult to actually know whats happening until its officially announced.
-
I think McCoist will be fine. The season's started early, so I think its wrong to pass judgement on transfer activity so early. Wait until the window closes. I also agree with the apparent transfer policy - Why pay the initial asking price for a player, when you don't agree with the valuation??? If you had £1m at your disposal for a car.....you wouldn't blow it all on a Ford fiesta with a £1m price tag on it....by simply paying the asking price, we may well find ourselves having financial "issues" again. One thing is certain from McCoist....he will give it 100%
-
My concern with Goodwillie, is that if he comes in, there's a chance he'll go straight into the team up front. That would then break up the developing partnership of Jelavic & Naismith. I don't think Goodwillie will enjoy sitting on the bench too much!!! I say let him go, and focus on the other targets....

The Hungarian is delighted by the interest of Glasgow Rangers: "I give myself fully here, but after 6 years, I need a new challenge" Tonight at 20:30, the new Anderlecht gives the start of the 2011 championship - 2012. But within a month, Sporting could have a different face. With or without Lukaku? And what about Jovanovic, Mbokani, Biglia, Suarez? A player is less talked about Roland Juhasz. Exclusive, yet he told the DH: "I feel ready for a transfer." Why this desire to leave Anderlecht? "I begin my seventh season at Anderlecht. I'm ready to play in a new league, with a new challenge. I need a change. In the modern game, players spend only three or four years in a club ... " Are you ready to play all out like Vargas, threatening to use certain laws? "No! Let's be clear: I will not conflict with Anderlecht, where I had no problems for six years. It is a very professional club where there is never any problem of payment. I do not make war in the press, either. If something does not please me, I go to Herman Van Holsbeeck, who has always been very correct. " The Rangers have offered 1.5 million, but Anderlecht wants more or less five. "When I hear this that you pay for defenders, five is too high. I think I'm worth 2 to 3 million. The Rangers will perhaps make a new offer, who knows? " Are there other clubs interested? "Rangers are the most concrete. I'm curious to know if the British football is something for me. It intrigues me. " You understand that - given the tensions Fan Day - Anderlecht can not afford to let his boss and the defense. "Okay, but then there is always an explanation to keep me. When you're champion, is to be as strong as possible in the Champions League. When one is not champion is champion again for the following year. My wish has nothing to do with the previous season. I am 28, the last time to make a large transfer. It's a sportsman and not financial choices. I can always go to Qatar or Dubai afterwards, but I'm not interested now. I'm ready for a new challenge. " Would you like to start one now, or do you accept a transfer in January or June 2012? "If I can leave now and the clubs are doing, I now prefer . ' What is the percentage chance that you will leave? "very difficult question. It depends on the clubs. I'm concentrating on football. I have not had a contract offer from Rangers, but it would be the easy part. " Meanwhile, can you focus on OHL - Anderlecht, for example? "Of course! Even if I had to play in D3 Hungarian, I would be 100% motivated. Anderlecht is not to worry. I give myself fully to the end for this great club. Rangers to trial German international - David Odonkor
Darthter replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
He's a free agent, plus I don't think he's really in a position to command high wages, so probably worth a punt. I would be inclined to start him on low wages with a bonus for games played. The wage can then be increased based on staying fit!!! Think he could be usefull.... -

Any relation to Andy Webster??? -
The biggest problem here was time....I don't think there was sufficient time when you factor in players on holiday etc, and Whyte taking control at the tail end of last season. True, they could have just gone out and paid asking price+, but they appear to want to get the best players they can @ the best prices possible. Don't think there will be any real movement from Englandshire until they have to decide there squads for the season....so longer still to wait. With regards the current squad - it is essentially a triple championship winning squad!!! However, I feel that they are not doing the basics well enough & have no excuse. They shouldn't need time to gel after 4 weeks break. They are professional sportsmen, earning a massive wage, yet they appear like they can't be bothered - not good enough!!!
-
That's basically what happens.....The seller sets their price - possibly inflated, the buyer then puts in lower bids....the two tend to meet somewhere in the middle hopefully. It's the seller that is in the position of power.
-
According to FM....Ortiz is a right sided player. Don't know why McCoist didn't shift him to the right, then put Wylde on for either Edu or McCulloch on the left. I think if Ortiz is on the right, the fans would get a better idea of what he's like!!!
-
Miller did this once.....it was the most goals he'd ever scored in one season!!! Some stats from here Club Date App Gls Rangers 2000–2001 38 11 Rangers 2008–2011 108 55 Bursaspor 2010–2011 15 5 Career total 483 171 I think it would be money wasted and no great loss IMHO....
-
Personally, I think it shows not to believe everything you read in the papers/forums etc... Was there any hint of Ortiz signing before yesterday??? Hopefully there will be more to follow....

Great news for 'Gers fans - Blackburn want Edu
Darthter replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
I find the Edu situation a bit strange.... He comes across as a really nice guy, and you REALLY want him to do well.....but he's never really shown consistently what he's capable of. He'll have a good game, and folk will think "that's is...he's coming good", then he'll have a complete howler. I don't think he will be missed TBH. I would rather have a Papac-like player - someone who comes plays week after week, and just does the job reliably...not always outstandingly, but consistent.
