  1. While I won't go as far as saying he looks a cracking player (yet..), I think based on his display today, he certainly looks VERY VERY promising!!! I thought that he handled the pressure cooker of the OF amazingly well. He sat in MF and confidently knocked the ball left, right, forward and when required backward all with precision - rarely wasted a pass. i liked the 3 man central mid, along with Edu & Davis. All in a top notch performance & I look forward to seeing more of McCabe in the coming weeks!!!
  2. Hopefully a lot of pressure has been lifted from the players - the league is effectively gone and their jobs are safe at least until the end of the season. Added to that, the return of several key players this week - there may be a chance of a good performance...I think Coisty is due a wee bit of payback from the players for the support he's shown them over the past 5 weeks!!!
  3. I do agree that saying the players have conned the fan is harsh.....however a lot he does say about atttitude aint far wrong imho....
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if his explanation is found acceptable by the sfa, and he gets let off completely, probably with an appology from the sfa to top it all of....
  5. As much as i want to.....i can't really disagree with much of what he's saying.....
  6. I read a small section in tue DR the other day saying that the "fit & proper" testing was expensive and time consuming, therefore it wasn't practical to do it for each & every possible case......yet so far, Craid Whyte is the only person to be checked for "fit & proper". Must be a VERY expensive & time consuming process if they can only afford to do it once..... There was also a tiny wee section - no major headlines - saying that a letter had been sent to cfc/lemmon about his comments - he will be asked to esplain them at a later date. What explaining is required??? He openly criticised the refs performance saying the decision was criminal & that the ref has now cost them the treble......
  7. Here's a though.... Whyte (The Pillar of Honesty that he is), had previously stated the the Ticketus deal was secured against one of his companies.....therefore, all we need to do is - NOTHING!!!! If we don't pay up, then Ticketus will go after the guarantee will they not????
  8. My reading of this is that if Ticketus was not part of the BK's consortium, their coats would then be on a VERY shaky peg. However the BK's bid process has now ensured that the contact is enforceable & may therefore scupper any other bids!!!
  9. My reading of this is that the Judge has not said they can't get out of it....just that he won't give them any guidance on how to do it!!!
  10. It'd be nice though....
  11. It would be nice if the Admins were to release a summary of all bids received - without names. This would allow the support to form an idea as to what each camp is offering, with prejudice.
  12. Looks like in this case Fans ownership ain't working!!! Therefore, lets blame the previous guy.
  13. It's nearly as bad as the application to get into the USA....there's a question asking if you are a Terrorist, or have ever been involved in Genocidal activities??? Who on earth would answer "Yes"???
  14. I think the big difference between PM & CW's takeovers is that PM is NOT selling off assets or any revenue streams in order to secure/repay the money from Ticketus. The BK's appear to be using Ticketus instead of a bank loan. Also, PM is being open about Ticketus' involvement. As for the fans support....I believe many are following due to lack of option or information. The BK's are using to media to imply that they are the "Big Boys", and that they're deal is the best. At the moment, they have no competition (media-wise), so many fans blindly follow-on and buy into the concept. As for the fans ownership....I believe it to be a bit of a red herring. At £1k per share, your average fan isn't gonna get ANY say in the running of the club, in reality it'll be the folk with money that snap up a significant number of shares that will wield the power in the board room - the big question being, will there be any real fan representation on the new Board???
  15. and had been there for 9 months....it is feasible that they weren't aware of the previous Credit card scheme, and therefore the need to notify the FSA....
  16. Don't think its an excuse. The admins most likely never new about the previous Credit card scheme, and therefore never knew that had a reason to involve the FSA. this may also be true about the Board (for what it was...)
  17. My understanding was that it was the RFC Board that were @ fault since they didn't notify the FSA about going into Administration. D&P would not have known that RFC ran a credit scheme for a short time about 10yrs ago.....Craig Whyte might not have even known about it!!!!
  18. Still failing to see clear justification as to WHY the BK's bid is the one to back!!!! All bids have been lodged with the Admins with a view to saving the club - if not, why place a bid??? As for the fans ownership.....at a minimum of £1000 per share, how many shares is Mr Average Joe REALLY gonna get in the club??? I would say that the vast majority of "investors" will get 1 share a piece. Then steps up your really wealthy folk who can afford to purchase in bulk - they are the ones that will get the places on the board, with maybe a token representative of the fans. As for Walter Smith's backing....I think BrahimHendani's thread about John Bennett is a good example here. JB was touted by Paul Murray as one of the consortium members. When asked about it Mr Bennett says his final decision wasn't clear & that PM had released his name too early. With Smith, I could see the conversation going along the lines of: PM: "Hey Walter, I'm gonna take over Rangers!!!!" WS: "That sounds like a great idea" Add in a bit of media spin to the above, and you've got another "backer" Also, with regard to Fans ownership/input....why are you sooooo convinced it is the way forward and will ultimately benefit the club??? All the details of the other bids will be revealed in due course, then we will know exactly how the BK's bid stack up with the rest. Until then I remain unconvinced with PM/BK's offering is the best way forward.
  19. I've got it now....You are Paul Murray aren't you??? From what I have read, Paul Murray is basically downing what Craig Whyte did - He's using money from various places, none of which is his (or his consortium's) in order to fund the initial take over of the club. By doing this he is going to increase the clubs debt further. Then is is going to get the fans to invest more money to help pay off the debt that he's just increased. Granted he has stated the members of the BK's will invest in the share option - that may be £1000 per head, with the rest being raised by the hard working fans out there. I don't think anyone is expecting the next Abramovich to come along and constantly plough millions of £££ in every season, but is it wrong to expect a buyer to actually fund the purchase and the initial running costs from their own pocket??? Having financial backup is vitally important IMHO - The BK's don't have ANY financial clout (from what we know so far). Obviously we also don't know what the state of the other bids are, but at least in Brian Kennedy's case we know he has the financial backing to run the club IF REQUIRED!!!
  20. As I've stated else where.....I would love a large cash injection into the club - clear the debt & get the finances stable for the future. After than, maybe a modest investment in the playing squad. Any further investment should be in the youth ranks, whether that be new coaches or facilities, something needs to improve. This was shown last weekend - the young lads that came into the team (IMHO..) and did a decent job.....they were keen and hungry to play, but they lacked any real quality or finesse (with the possibly exception of Perry). I would like to think that these guys are among the "cream of the crop" of the youth setup. We really should be producing better young players that can slot into the 1st team as required.
  21. We're not going down the "pub team" route again.....Lesser teams would be a more apt description, or "teams we really should beat fairly easily". As for blame...as CumbernaultGers says, its the manager who buys/trains/picks them and its the manager who decides the preferred strategy & tactics, so therefore isn't above criticism. However, the bulk of the blame does lie with the players - they are the ones out on the park playing like 11 blind donkeys with their hoofs/feet tied together. It is up to the manager to pick the team & tactics which give us the best chance of winning the game. Unfortunately those choices haven't worked on a number of occasions.
  22. not just that....the details that they have released aren't exactly filling the fans with confidence. I have yet to see ANYTHING from the BK's that clearly shows why they are the best options. This is confirmed with the members, certainly on here - the majority appear to be backing bids that we know nothing about - one fans forerunner even appears to be from someone who isn't even bother if he wins or not - clearly the media option ain't working well for the BK's!!!
  23. Hate to point this out...but results DO matter!!! This is a results driven business/sport - if you're not getting results, 9 times out of 10 you get the boot. I am not convinced of Ally's managerial credentials yet. He has been a rock off the pitch, but there are a lot of questions needing answered on it. IF he is given the chance again next season, I won't complain, but if the off-field situation is sorted, and the on-field stuff isn't then it will be time for him to step down.
  24. I think the Admins will issue a summarised list eventually - once they are clear what each bid entails. Until then, we wait!!!
