  1. Ya know times are bad when were using Romanov as an ownership example....
  2. There has been a fairly vocal portion of the support recently who've made it clear that they didn't want his involvement. He apparently wanted to save the club, but some support wanted another savoir - we can only hope that there is one!!! IMHO the "yank go Home" banner would have sent a very clear message to Mr Miller, and I don't blame him for pulling out. He wanted to save the club, not start a civil war!!!
  3. Think it was more a general comment on newspaper marketing TBH!!! It's a sensational headline to a nothing story.
  4. I think it was probably guess work on the media side....makes for scandal when he DOESN'T fly out for the meeting!!!!
  5. Apparently McCoist hasn't spoken to Miller for a few days, and neither party has any immediate plans to travel for a face-to-face.
  6. Possibly a lot of posturing in the media, but when it comes down to it, they don't have the bottle to carry it through....
  7. Here's a thought - pretty far out I know.... The delays to the voting etc....maybe the SPL (and maybe some of the other clubs) are actually encouraging this to happen in order for Rangers to get a buyer in place before the outcome of the proposals etc. They can they issue a relatively mild punishment with the promise (and rules in place) that if it happens again TO ANY TEAM, they will be hammered.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pope himself pitched up & bought the club!!!
  9. if he was, it took them 10 years to work it out!!!
  10. Very positive to hear Perry's comments. With that attitude, he could be at the heart of that defence for a LONG time!!!
  11. yeah...coz Johnston & Miller were such poor servants to the club!!!
  12. what about Kenny McDowell...did he not come from "them"???
  13. It may be the case then that you can only get a CVA agreed if you are the owner??? My understanding has always been that the preferred bidder would get a CVA approved in principle, then once they knew that was agreed & deliverable, the ownership could change hands and the CVA process completed. Then again, I'm nothing but s simple IT man trying to piece together information....not a financial expert!!!
  14. my understanding is that a CVA is not deliverable under the conditions of the BK's bid ie. not enough cash for the creditors pot, they wouldn't agree to it. I don't believe that Whytes shares are directly connected with a CVA being agreed.
  15. I don't believe TBK's CAN raise their offer without greater financial backing....
  16. There was a thread about this a while back....
  17. Sponsorship - yes!!! Sale/lease - NEVER!!!!!!
  18. A spokesperson for Collyer Bristow said they were delighted to be working with Mr Miller....

    Concerns

Questions were asked of Whyte, he just either told folk what they wanted to hear, lied or refused to answer the question!!!
  20. The actual prediction may be a bit of a long shot - crystal ball needs a bit of a polish....but the point being if the club is competing as before will folk care about the oldco??? I agree with Max Rebo's point that most fans are primarily concerned with the football side of things. I think that while to team is playing/performing etc the oldco will be forgotten about pretty quickly and no-one will be bother whether it's liquidated/merged or whatever!!!
  21. I think one of the first things Mr Miller (or any new owner) will do is renegotiate the players contracts. They will be unwilling to remain at the current level but hopefully most will agree to a reduced wage compared to what they were on (but more than now...). I think we would do pretty decently with some of the young guys coming through. Perry has shown he can handle 1st team action, as has Ness, McCabe, Hutton, Cole etc.
  22. Crystal balls at the ready.... In 6, 8, 12 months time, the Rangers newco is up & running with the same team/strip/stadium/manager etc. The league is under way and our quest for No.55 is in full flow. We're sitting top of the league with a small lead over 2nd placed Motherwell ( ) and we're still in both domestic cups. Will any of the fans still care about the "oldco"???

    Concerns

Making an offer is one thing.....carrying it through is something completely different!!! Reports in the media have pointed to HMRC having issues with Whyte - they possibly don't trust him to make good on any deals/offers!!!
  24. It is difficult without knowing the full details, however the signs IMHO are positive. Miller has a proven & transparent history of taking not just a struggling company (or 2), but a struggling industry, and turning it into a successful venture. If the DR report is correct, Mr Mill hasn't bothered with the £500k fee....he's just whapped £11m into a holding acount - if that's not a good sign of intention, I don't know what is. His ongoing plans will be interesting though!!!
  25. According to the DR this morning, Mr Miller has already transferred £11m into a holding account!!! Source: Daily Record 04/05/12
