Uncertainity prevails over position of Ally McCoist
Darthter replied to Bears's topic in Rangers Chat
Someone once described this process as being like the Hokey Cokey.....Any reports of Coisty shakin' it all about yet???? -
As I mentioned....there MAY be a bit of an offset with regard money. No Sky money or TV coverage could force the arm-chair fans back to the grounds. This would lead to increased gate money, which MAY take care of the loss of the SKY cash. There MAY be a drop in quality players, but I think the players that would be available, would offer a more level playing field & therefore a more exciting league.

Rangers dropping to the 3rd Div, and therefore Sky pulling the plug may actually be good for the game overall!!! If Sky decide that without RFC in the top league and therefore no OF games, they are going to completely withdraw, that means that the only way for fans to see games is to actually go to the game. This may well lead to an increase in attendances across the country. In the mean time, RFC are taking their travelling support to the small grounds and boosting their coffers. You would think that RFC would work back up the leagues fairly quickly, by which time there is a possibility that the game as a whole within the top echelon would have improved - better quality football, and bigger attendances across the board. Maybe then, SKY would again be interested but this time in a much better product....

Question about liquidation and assets.
Darthter replied to Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose's topic in Rangers Chat
The way I understand things is that after the official vote today, the company doesn't immediately enter Liquidation, therefore BDO don't immediately take over. Once the vote is confirmed, D&P have agreed to sell the clubs assets to CG Consort. That could go through today/tomorrow. After that, D&P then begin the liquidation process, and hand the reigns over to BDO who are left to clean things up. -
Uncertainity prevails over position of Ally McCoist

That all depends on what is on the horizon.... Hopefully, after the meetings etc today, further details/roadmaps whatever you want to call it will be laid out. -
That's why we've invested in Banstead Utd!!!!

It's time Charles Green named his backers
Darthter replied to the gunslinger's topic in Rangers Chat
Nothing is 100% confirmed until the CVA meeting tomorrow. Once the vote has been cast & the result is official, then I believe full details of CG's consortium will be revealed along with some plans for the future. Then, once the asset transfer is complete & the newco is up & running, I think there will be further info regarding board appointments & budgets etc. Obviously, there can't be any detailed plans for the future, until the clubs future with the SPL/SFA is decided. -
Well said!!! The weight has been lifted from the club, years of uncertainty now removed. It's a clean slate from which to rebuild from. However, I believe the club is strong and that the best team possibly will walk onto that pitch next season (against an as yet unknown opposition) and play with pride!!!

Dave King Calls For Fans not to support CVA Deal
Darthter replied to North Rd's topic in Rangers Chat
I may have missed something here..... We are talking about money due to the club for player sales & season tickets. Would this money not normally be used to fund the running of the club? However, everyone seems to be up in arms IF either admins or CG use any of this cash for the purpose it intended.... -
Its been stated that The Green Consortium become the new owners on Thursday, regardless of the outcome of the CVA....I take that to mean that if the CVA is rejected, the fallback of the Newco immediately kicks in due to the legally binding contract (??) that's supposed to be in place. If that is the case, I don't see there being time for HMRC to push for liquidation....

Does he need both eyes to flatten Broonaldo????
-
If Murray park is going to be renamed.....How about seeking a sponsor for it??? Granted it wouldn't bring in anywhere near the amount that a Stadium sponsor would get, but every little helps!!! Any money brought in via the training facility via sponsorship could stay with the facility to fund additional coaching or facility upgrades etc. I think a certain mobile network & crisp manufacturer would work well - The Orange Walkers Training Academy!!!
-
He may well have been on the bench, but he VERY rarely got on...other's being selected instead - often out of position!!!
-
Very valid point...however in Healy's case, McCoist opted to use Jig rather than use Healy!!! Did the young lad McKay not get a nod before Healy?? Not saying its the right thing to do, but when your crying out for a striker/goalscorer, and you overlook the one you've got on the bench in favour of other options, its time to say bye bye!!!
-
There appears to be some unsubstantiated media reports that he's not....I believe the Admins confirmed that everything is proceeding as normal. Can you provide hard evidence that he's NOT met those obligations???? The evidence to support that he has met them is that things are still proceeding, and he's not pulled out or been kicked out!!!!
-
yet....Green is still on course, has issued the CVA, and has met all financial obligations so far!!!
-
I may be wrong.....but is that not what season ticket money is for - to run the club?? The CG consortium are required to provide funding in the interim, until season ticket funds are received.
-
As I said in another thread....Football clubs rely on season tickets in order to function. Over the close season, there is minimal revenue coming into the club, yet costs are still being incurred, wages still being paid etc. If any of that cash was to be used to pay creditors etc, the club would struggle to run @ a basic level, never mind progress. I would imagine any monies received from season tickets will be kept separate from any CVA funding.
-
The panel stated in their conclusion that expulsion or suspension were too harsh, and that a fine wasn't harsh enough (this may have also incl. the cup ban)
-
That's the key....If the consortium are paying millions to keep the club running, it's only right that they have a say in what's going on!!!
-
You could argue that it is part of a "hand-over" procedure..... If the contract is as legally binding as has been stated, Charles Green & consortium WILL be the new owners of the club.
-
His consortium may not own the club, but something tells me that from 1st June, he is now involved in the day-to-day running of the club.
-
I don't think it would have been practical or even possible to issue the cva without actually having the required funds. As for the alledged other bids....there's always been someone else waiting in the wings. CG on the other hand has stepped into the spot light and apparently moved the whole process forward. I think details will still be pretty scarce until the cva is agreed.

I think we require a "lightbulb" moment. When people in charge of the UK game suddenly realise that the grassroots setup in this country isn't up to scratch compared to other countries. This doesn't just apply to football. The UK as a whole like to think of itself as a great sporting nation...yet in how many sports do we really dominate???
-
I think its common place in society now that folk want instant results. In football that means buying in "ready made" players....let someone else do the real work ie. coaching/encouraging from a young age. How many English players play in the top teams in the Premiership??? The vast majority will be from abroad.
