I find it very difficult to get exciting about CG....but then again, there is nothing to get excited about. Providing he does his job as CEO (something which has been poor in recent years...), I will be happy. I want to get exciting about the manager, the players etc, not about the boardroom & what they are doing & who they are - I couldn't care less, providing they do their jobs properly. So far CG appears to be doing his job very well, and long may it continue!!!

At least thats a problem that no-one at rfc will be complaining about......

It's entertaining.....

Can we now expect McCoist to get hammered for speaking out again???? Well said though - especially the part about thanking the SFL & 29 of the 30 clubs for welcoming the club into their structure!!!
-
I get the feeling that some folk are missing the real point.....we are clear to play football!!!! Any sanctions etc that the club have agreed to have ensured that the team can do what it does best - win football matches.
-
In fairness....Bedoya appears to be doing pretty well tale-end of last season, and so far in the games he's played pre-season.

I could have told her that....the question is WHEN!!!

Cannae be any worse than Glasgow other Greek "star"....

Just noticed a small snippet in the DR: Therefore, providing we get our license today, there is no need to rush through teh paperwork for Beattie & Black.

Rangers now appear on the Div3 fixture list as The Rangers FC... http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/football/third/fixtures/

Exactly....they were able to impose fines on the club even though we were in administration - didn't think that was allowed??? I though one of the main benefits of Administration was to protect the entity against further financial penalty???

Should the SPL decide to strip us of the titles gained during the period when EBT's were used, their actions could open up a whole new can of worms. If they decide to go down that route, the simplest resolution would be to declare those titles as void - we don't get them, and neither does anyone else. Case closed, lets all carry on. Should the SPL decided that they want to take a different approach and award said titles to the team that finished in 2nd place, things could get interesting. The first thing I see happening is the new "champions" looking for compensation due to lost European revenue. Naturally, if the "New champs" had taken the RFC spot originally, they would have won the respective Euro cup, and therefore lost out on many millions of ££££. There is also the extra money for finishing 1st in the league. Would RFC have to pay that back, and would the "new champs" receive the extra "due" to them??? Also, there is the cost of having all existing literature re-printed to include the revised dates, the distribution costs of getting the revised issues to fans.....and the most important aspect, the time taken to re-colour in said literature, and the cost of new crayons!!! Most of the points above would also apply to every other team in the league. If all teams had originally finished in their "new" position, it is obvious that all teams involved in European contests would have either won, or at the very least done considerably better. There is also the possibility that an improved league position may have led to the signing of better players - clubs should be recompensed for that as well. What about any managers etc that were sacked due to poor league position - should they then get their jobs back, or at the very least clubs should offer substantial payoffs. Obviously there is only one body that would be ultimately responsible for all these extra costs - RFC!!! It's all their fault after all.

Another golden oldie offers to help out Rangers-windass

If this is the age group of player wanting to play for us, here's a thought..... Why don't we try and get as many of the 9-in-a-row squad back!!! if nothing else, it'll bug the hell out of those shouting about the whole EBT/player contract stuff!!! Mols, Laudrup, Gazza, Coisty, Hately, Durrant, Butcher, Gough, Goram, Wilkins....now that would be a cracking 3rd div squad!!! -
If any were members of the EBT scheme...we should at least get a refund!!!
-
It may be worth agreeing that if the SPL investigation shows that we were in the wrong, that the titles would be voided rather than handed to 2nd place. If it means that we then get our license & can get back to playing football then I'm all for it!!! It would also mean that IF found guilty, Ceptic wouldn't take OUR titles!!! Obviously if the SPL investigation finds us not guilty (no laughing at the back...), the above agreement would be null & void anyway.

...and how much would it cost to completely start again from scratch??? ...I very much doubt that 50k fans would hand over £500 and nothing in return!!! ...where's the money gonna come from???

I am really getting the impression the Sevco just don't want to sell up & move on. The more they knock back bids, the more this view is strengthened. It certainly looks like they are committed in the longer term, to rebuild the club. Once that is done, I'm sure they will sell on for a massive profit!!!

Report on the RFC website....played a couple of short games on the new pitch. McKay bagged a couple of goals - obviously still there & rumour a load of mince!!!

Two new players at Auchenhowie: Beattie and Black
Darthter replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Definitely.....get some young, promising players in & get them earning a reputation (of the good kind), then sell them on for a healthy profit!!! -
Heard a rumour that young Barry McKay has left....anyone able to confirm???
-
The claim is that by using EBT's we were fielding players that we couldn't otherwise afford. How true is this??? Could the club have afforded these players at that time without the EBT, or at the least afforded some of these players??
-
I do recall Kennedy mentioning a newco option, but the point wasn't laboured in any way....I kinda got the impression that he didn't want to mention it too much in case the fans turned against him - at that stage a newco was more of a no-go!!!

This is obviously CG's endgame....he planned this kind of outcome all along!!! Green must go!!! -
Shareholder info - Rangers FC plc to be renamed
Darthter replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
The liquidation of the Oldco could take months (possibly longer....). Changing the name allows the Sevco to take on a more suitable name, similar to the previous. On a slight side note, if Sevco officially become "The Rangers Football Club Limited", will that then match the name above the blue gates @ Ibrox??? -
Very entertaining read.....like a good story book - The knight in shining armour riding on to tackle the vicious overlord. Kinda reminds me of the Lion King.....CG as Scar, Kennedy as Simba, the BBC reporters as the Hyenas, McCoist as Simba's mum (???)
