Sky & Apple are 2 massively successful companies - they must be doing something right. The one thing that they will be not be doing is over spending on critical components required to produce their product. That is where RFC have been failing in recent years - buying over priced components ie players, but with lower priced returns on them. Motherwell on the other hand, have been buying good quality, lower priced components, which ahve produced a decent product, and healthy balance sheet.

Personally, I'm glad that it's someone without any emotional ties to the club - means they can make tough decision based on sound business principles, rather than being let by their heart. The business side of things should be run by "neutral" business people, and the footballing side run by folk who know the club & the game as a whole.

It was opened....that's why the kick-off was delayed.

Maybe they're planning on turning Ibrox into a MASSIVE theme pub....with the pitch as a beer garden....

Sports tycoon Mike Ashley to buy stake in Rangers

That only works if the shops are profitable....otherwise they drain valuable cash from the coffers.... -
Is the tide starting to turn for Charles Green?

So far I think CG has done a good job. Take the recent signings for example compared to last seasons attempts. Black, Shiels, Sandaza, Kyle, Emilson.....everyone of them concluded very quickly with no fuss. Granted they were all free agents, so no purchase price to be negotiated, but wage deals were still concluded quickly. As for the investment levels.....I don't know exactly how much has been brought in, but I'm sure its a sizable amount. The goalposts have been constantly changing re. league status etc....this is bound to have an impact on investment levels. However, the situation has now stabilised and I'm sure there will be further investment brought in, probably to the levels CG originally stated (it's just taken a wee bit longer...) -

Do Ceptic have a similar deal with JJB that we have??? The reason I ask is that I have noticed recently that JJB don't appear to be "pushing" the RFC stuff as much. At the new JJB store in EK, they do have a large section at the back of the store, but the display at the entrance Septic were considerably more prominent with the mannequin display and there wasn't a single RFC shirt displayed. I also noticed a double page advert in the DR - not a single RFC player shown...Ceptic, Barca etc, but no RFC. I found the above VERY strange considering JJB are supposed to be our official outlet. Maybe a change to Sports Direct would be a considerable boost. -

Was it not because his head/Ego was bigger than his ability and he thought he could secure a much better/bigger deal elsewhere (premiership???). From what I recall, he was expecting to be receiving offers left, right & centre from a host of top clubs......obviously worked out well for him... -
What ya get for the 2nd hole???

I'm sure I did read somewhere that the SFA required proof that Whyte wasn't involved in any way.... -

Is Mr Ahmed still involved with Allenby???? -
If this is what happens in Div 3.....bring it on!!!

in what way???

It seams common place just now with SPL clubs to have a counter on their web site announcing how many season tickets have been sold..... I was thinking if RFC put one on their site, it could make the SPL teams sick....might be quite amusing!!!
-
It's not the SFA that are wanting to strip the titles though - its the SPL!!! The SFA have no control over SPL titles, only titles like the Scottish Cup etc.
-
If Sebo is available and not looking for a ridiculous pay deal, I'd say get him back. We have VERY limited options up front at the moment, especially with Hemmings being out till Xmas. 27 goals from 47 appearances for Slovan Bratislava...not tooooo shabby
-
Long term, that's probably a good thing. Forces the club to prosper while not being reliant on TV revenue.

just been having a wee think about general running costs & season ticket income.... In general, does anyone have any idea how RFC's daily running costs (Stadium, training, wages etc) compare with other SPL teams - especially the "bigger" teams with decent sized grounds and decent facilities. Reports suggest that other SPL teams, with the exception of Ceptic, are selling less than 10k season tickets @ generally a lower price that our ST's. Therefore, they are pulling in less revenue than us, yet they still get by. I can see our team costs dropping fairly significantly over the next few years, but hopefully still maintain ST's in the 20-30k region. Surely that should be enough to keep Ibrox ticking over, while still providing a decent amount left over for player purchases etc.

Better from Mr Leggat....no name calling, no mud slinging, just commenting on issues based on fact!!!

I would like to see Sebo back....see if he can redeem himself. -
Green never stated that he wanted Coisty as manager for the next 25 years....just at the club!!! This could be a move into more of a PR/Ambassadorial type role???

AS other have said....I felt it was a rather "rusty" performance. Thought the first 30mins, we were well in control, then we seemed to take the foot off the gas and let Brechin have a lot more of the ball - we never really recovered from that. I don't know whether it was a mental thing or not - "We're Rangers, and we're all over you...easy!!!" I though Black had a fairly decent game. His passing at times was a yard short, but he was keen to get involved. Thought he had a couple of good deliveries from free-kicks & corners. Barry McKay started brightly. Again, keen to get involved, however never REALLY troubled their keeper and was quiet after the break. Goian & Boca, didn't look their usual impenetrable selves, and were slightly sloppy (goian especially). Wallace looked tidy & was keen to get forward, as did Broadfoot.
-
Squad enhancement is a must.....did Coisty even manage to fill the bench yesterday??? Thought there was only 4 out of 5 subs mentioned. The commentator did mention Bedoya, but god only know what he was saying....
-
We had a fairly pacey centre back with Bougie....the problem was he thought he was a winger!!! Goian's pace wasn't an issue in the SPL, I would think DIV 3 won't be any different.
