Was there not a story about a newsreader (i think) as well, basically being self employed in order to reduce tax?? Looks like it was Fiona Bruce....Jeremy Paxman also involved... -
I had joked about the i-Brox/Apple link up a while ago....

Slightly concerned about feedback from Green's NI trip

Don't really want to get involved in this particular debate....however... I would like to think that given the amount of split opinions about a particular colour of strip, CG & co would really think about what they plan to do next. If they feel that there is sufficient justification etc for opting for ANY colour then they go for it, if there is any doubt, they should opt for something else. -
Totally agree.... I think McKay on one side, and Aird on the other would trouble a lot of Div3 defences. These 2 guys have one thing on their minds when they get the ball - run at the defense. IMHO, that is something the team has lacked for a while. As they get more game time & experience, their decision making etc will improve. I always felt this was the big problem with Vlad Wiess.....he had pace & trickery, but his decision making was very poor at times - didn't know when to release the ball....
-
Elfideldo, I have gathered that you have a lot of knowledge about the youth setup etc....do you have any professional or person links with the youths, or just an avid fan???
-
Everything else they do is half-arsed....why change for this???
-
Sadly all too true.... Hopefully while playing in the 1st team, they can build up a good reputation, which we can then cash in on & get a good fee. This fee can either be re-invested in the youth setup (preferred) or used to buy a replacement.

Maybe ask if Seve had an EBT....combine 2 topics in one...

it's more to do with the sum of the component parts.... -
Or we get a cushy home tie, with a view to use getting into the final against them....

I thought the wording was rather derogatory to McCoist. -

No problems with long balls as a defensive measure ie clearing the lines, or when trying a long killer pass. The issue is more with Alexander when he's standing at the edge of the box waving everyone up-field - inc. the opposition. A quick long a ball is fine if it catches the opposition off guard....doesn't work as well when you tell the opposition exactly what your gonna do. Ideally he should be getting the ball moving quickly - one or 2 passes from defense and your up @ the 1/2 way line and still in possession!!! It's obviously still a work in progress....I think we will get there eventually!!! -

But RFC are the "establishment" according to many....so how does that work??? -
Those poor performances haven't been the fault solely of the youngsters.....the experienced players in the squad have also failed big time on those occasions. Who's to say that is the squad had been filled with more experienced players, the results would have been any different??? IMHO, the manager has had to call on the youth ranks, and in some cases they have come in & performed better than the "old heads". Take Sandaza for instance....he's hardly been banging in the goals, or even lining up multiple chances. Same goes for Kevin Kyle. Dean Shiels performances have also been a bit up & down - all 3 are seasoned SPL players.

There were still a good number of unforced errors, and some very poor passing....but I think over the past couple of weeks those errors are reducing. The TEAM is getting stronger. Thought Alexander was looking for the shorter throw out more than he has...still too many long balls not reaching a Rangers player though. -
I think the biggest problem has been the pressure to win. Managers are not willing to gamble on these youngsters when there are Euro places, big money etc at stake. Compare that to our situation now.....we have a registration ban in place, and no Euro football for the next few years. Fraser Aird(17) got a brief run out against Montrose & looked fantastic....the next game he gets a starting spot. Lewis McLeod(18) has started every game this season. Think Barry McKay(17) has featured in pretty much every game. The current situation has forced the manager to show faith in the youths....and IMHO, he's been well rewarded!!!

that being the case....why are Motherwell not in Monday's draw??? -
but so far they have shown they have the talent/skill.... if the managers chooses to ignore them in favour of bought in talent... that's not the academy's fault.
-
The "academy" @ Murray park has come in for a lot of stick over the past couple of years for not producing enough talent. Tonight we had Perry, Hutton, McLeod, Aird, McKay & Crawford all getting a game, and all of them looking very comfortable against the SPL leaders. Has the recent youngsters coming into the the 1st team changed anyones views???

Think the Record lost its "accurate" status the moment they printed that Craig Whyte was a millionaire with wealth "off the scale"......
