If Ally thinks that folks criticism is unjust because they don't know what is going on.....it's easy to fix. Get onto the media team, and get a cameraman from RTV to shadow him for a week. A fly-on-the-wall documentary exclusive for Rangers TV. Show the world the pressures you are under, and the things you need to struggle against. Show the world that the players really do work their little socks off etc. Show the world that you have a clear vision of what you are trying to achieve etc. Hands up all those that think it will happen???? Anyone???

Anyone got Craig Whyte's number that they can sent to the Pars????
-
signed from Linfield, a club we have fairly close ties to already.....good to see the scouts are scouring the globe to find top young talent!!! I was hoping we would have brought a few more, slightly older players in. Ones that should already be knocking on the 1st team door.
-
Does anyone know if we have signed ANY promising under 18's in the last year??? The registration embargo has prevented signing anyone older than that, but there has been no restriction on under 18's.
-
The players we have just now are good enough, but they are just not showing it. What happens when Ally brings in another 6-10 players - there will be at least a couple of months of "The team is still gelling together" (which is fair enough), which will be followed by "...with so many injury problems, he can't field a settled side". There will still be the odd "considering what the club has been through...". Topped of with "at least we've won the league again". The circle will begin again.....
-
Leggo continuing the Boycott theme.... The original comments from post 1 - simply suggesting that should we be in the bottom tier again, many fans will naturally choose to not go to away games (been there, done that etc - where does it call for a boycott???
-
Regardless of how many leagues, and any fancy splits & mini leagues etc, it still going to be the same teams playing week in, week out. Go for the simple option & get on with the actual football (IMHO...)
-
Have they actually raised £250k in hard cash, or is it similar to the Save Rangers thing....millions in pledges, but no where near that when it came to cold, hard cash????
-
I won't like to see ANY team go to the wall, but I don't think Dunfermline have the support to save them. They were looking at a share issue to raise £500k, compared to our £22m I really think they will be consigned to history very soon....
-
Boycotts weren't mentioned.... The comment was made that should the 12-12-18 plans go through & we are still in the bottom tier, many fans will naturally chose to stay away.

If the right foundations are laid NOW, by the time we are back in the top league, we should start to see sign of something positive happening. There shouldn't be any questions about a youth/reserve etc stepping up to the 1st team - they should either be ready or not. There should be a steady flow, year-on-year of youths coming through the ranks and getting playing time in the 1st team There should be no reliance on buying in all our players If there are doubts over a youth/reserves ability to play in the 1st team, ship them out ASAP. Don't keep them hanging onto a dream that's not going to materialise. Get the used to a strict training regime/programme from an early age - keep them hungry (not literally), passionate about playing - don't let them turn into spoiled prima-donas.
-
The players should be @ MP for 8 hours a day ie. Full time!!!! How those hours are broken down can vary from day to day. Maybe have one day that is more focused towards fitness, have other days for tactics, ball control etc When the players aren't out on the training pitches, get them into a classroom and have them analyse games - some of their own, and other top teams. The more they watch how it should be done, they more likely they will actually try it on the pitch. I was watching the Barca/Milan game last night, and realised that our players simply could not last at the pace Barca play for 90mins. The players are constantly chasing the ball when the don't have it, and when they do they are constantly moving into positions to make/receive a pass. I think Ally should start to increase the time spent @ MP. Telling the players why they are doing it etc (they should already know...). If they perform well on match day, they get home a bit earlier, poor performance, they stay later.

I think most folk support Ally and want him to succeed - if anything to top off an absolutely glorious career as a Rangers player. However, Ally himself ain't making it easy....his track record is pretty poor, and so far showing no real sign of any major improvement.
-
Excellent article.....very interesting read.
-
I think that's a fair summation of things. The question is, If Ally stays & is given longer.....how much longer??? 1 season, 2 seasons, another shot at the various cups etc.

Rangers appear to be failing where scouting for new talent is concerned

Rangers appear to be failing where scouting for new talent is concerned
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I think the article is 100% spot on.... Our scouting over the past few years has been pretty shocking. The team seems to go for the easy option - the known commodity - most of the time. Just look at the players we've been linked with in the media recently.....pretty much all of them are known, and has been proven this season, that doesn't mean they will be a success at Rangers. We are constantly linked with previous players as well. The club needs to be bringing in young unknown names, develop them into good, consistent players then sell them on for a tidy profit. Motherwell are a good example....they have a VERY tight transfer budget, yet spend wisely and have brought in a number of good performers over the years. We have had a year out of the "active" transfer market - plenty of time for the scouts to get out & about identifying new potential, yet we are looking at a dawn raid on Motherwell's Out of contract players. -
What I don't get is: Why is this whole show being run by 12 teams, with hardly a penny to their name???
-
The stats only tell part of the story. We won 3-1 a couple of weeks back after going behind. Great result on paper, but another poor performance on the park. We have a 17-point lead at the top of the table, with 6 draws & 2 defeats - How many managers would love to have that record at this point of the season??? The problem is how we are going about our business on the park. I get the impression that folk are also keeping an eye on the future - how are we gonna fair next season, then the season after that???? McCoist isn't instilling ANY confidence in the support that the team is getting stronger, if anything they are getting weaker. Early in the season, we pulled off a fantastic display against then SPL leaders Motherwell - have we even come close to replicating that??? If McCoist can't furnish CG with a suitable reason for the poor/lackluster performances, then he has to go.

it's a good thing if your looking to play a lot of attacking play....unfortunately we're not doing that!!! I believe that we have a decent (to good) playing squad. There is a lot of talent there which need developing. I can see that when the transfer embargo is lifted, the club will probably revert back to normal business - "let's buy in players, rather than develop our own". I can see the likes of Aird & possibly McKay/Crawford disappearing. Hemmings will be offski as well. We will bring in more SPL "quality" players and put them on good wages & probably still only get mediocre results. Play will be more of the same - "Pitch is in poor condition, we have to play a high ball". Our midfield will be too busy trying to win the ball back after an upfield punt, that they won't be able to do anything creative/productive.......key defensive players will still be trying to master "Hello, my name is xxxx" in english, rather than "watch out for that running coming in at the back post".......Our keeper will end up with RSI in his wrist from constantly waving players up the pitch. We don't have the best squad, we all know that, but it should still be performing a helluva lot better that it has been. The team are not playing as a team, and that is something only McCoist can rectify!!!

Transfer rumours: Andre Bikey, Bell, Daly, Law, and ... Zaliukas
Darthter replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
We will be linked with ANY half decent player that is out of contract..... -
All too often this season, we're not near the tempo of our opponents either!!! I don't think it would take a huge amount of cash to improve the team....just careful selection of the right players, through a good scouting network.

Richard Wilson - Herald - Serious Questions Need Answers
Darthter replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
decent article..... From reading that, I think that the 1st thing that needs done with the whole rejigging is the 2 ruling bodies merged - get everyone under the same umbrella. Obviously there are 2 issues to resolve: The SPL is a commercial body that has certain contracts etc already in place & negotiations would need to take place in order to transfer to another entity. The other issue is the SFA - an entity officially formed in 1890. Many will want to see that history maintained & not just wiped out by the SPL. Once under a single organisation, a fairer financial redistribution model can be implemented. I don't see any real reason why this can't be accomplished by the start of next season, they wouldn't even need to change the names of the leagues. Under a single organisation, discussions on a new league format would also be easier & more productive (IMHO) - there wouldn't be 2 groups vying for power. All 40(ish) teams discuss & vote together on the way forward. As it stands at the moment, it appears to be the SPL that are driving all the changes, and almost bullying the rest into submission. ANY changes should be for the good of Scottish football as a whole.....not just the "top" dozen teams. I also get the impression from the way things are going that it will be the SPL that will retain the control.....this from an organisation that aimed to improve the state of the game, and make teams better off financially and make them more competitive in Euro comps. this has failed at both club level and international level. The SPL hasn't worked, and that is why rejigging is required. It would be refreshing for someone in power to actually come out & admit that, but it will NEVER happen. -
Sacking CG has nothing to do with his shareholding.....it is up to the Board of Directors.
