surely by releasing the tapes to the Sun, Whyte is prejudicing any possibly court case??? He is hoping to get public opinion changes and to Sh*t-stir. If his case was so water tight, leave it to the courts.

just what we need in addition to Black, Hutton & Faure (and occasionally Jig).... They should be looking at more creative midfielders....

What annoys me is that he felt he HAD to go to the press, after keeping quiet for so long. I get the impression by going to the press, he is trying to force CG's hand.....

....from his point of view!!! Who's to say the clubs version sin't completely different??

Rangers advertising campaign being investigated ASA confirms
Darthter replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
We should all log complaints about ceptics 125th celebrations last year......all their badges, logos etc have 1888 on them. 1888 + 125 = 2013, not 2012 which was the year the advertising was run..... -
Clubs must focus on current proposal - Neil Doncaster

I think trying to link the 2nd place prize money to us is stretching things too far. We are at least a couple of years away from it having the remotest impact on us. -
The middle 8 group is basically an extended play-off group. Not sure the setup for the bottom 8-group and the bottom league of 18.

I wouldn't totally agree with the foreign manager approach, but definitely someone with no ties to the club....they can then cast a 100% fresh eye over everything (nae blue tinted goggles...)

yet......or that we know of.

I have said this many times.....why is the financial re-distribution & amalgamation of the ruling bodies dependent on the new league structure (and vice-versa) Implement the re-distribution ASAP, and get all teams under one umbrella - surely that would make moving forward of the league structure easier....one vote with ALL clubs!!!
-
n order for this club to be profitable, it has to been doing well & winning things - there are no alternatives
-
something that has been all too evident this season (and for several in the past...) You don't see Messi or Iniesta plodding about the park thinking "hey, I'm the best in the world, I don't need to give a sh*t" - they get wired in as much as anyone else in the team!!!
-
I think this whole situation is a very difficult one to accurately comment on, simply down to the fact that we know nothing about what is happening. Pretty much everything I have read so far is either speculation or has come from a "source" I say, let the club get on with their internal business, and hopefully things will become clear.

Jon Daly reveals talks with Ally McCoist over potential Rangers move
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
its only an issue if folk want to make it one..... Would anyone really have been any the wiser if it had not been for this story??? -
Folk have been commenting on the quality of our recent signings, and asking questions about the scouting staff. Now the chief scout has been suspended while there are questions asked/investigated about his conduct etc, and folk are still complaining - ye cannae win..... What IF CG does find concrete evidence of something untoward having gone on....will folk still make the comparisons with Whyte etc???

Maybe I've got got some negative goggles on....but again, no the most encouraging statement from the Rangers Management team. In a nutshell, out squad are crap & you can't expect good performances from them - this includes the SPL "Stars" that were brought in. They are only getting a game because we have no choice (which unfortunately has a great deal of truth too it...) He is openly stating that a number of the current squad will be getting shipped out & replaced. May just be me, but that ain't gonna encourage the team to play better. It may induce a feeling of "if I'm getting punted, I don't want to pick up an injury"...... Also, the carrot of bringing in a load of new players & the performances being better - he has done NOTHING positive with the group of players he has. He also states that luring decent players to the club is a problem (no arguments there - general league status etc), but goes on to say that the wages they can pay go a long way to bringing them in.....my reading of that is we will offer free agents a substantial wad of cash to play for us - similar to Sandaza probably. The risk there being "what if they turn out to be duds???" Nothing in there to full fans with any real confidence IMHO....

Another reason to implement a playing ethos through all the age groups. By the time they reach the first team, they should be undaunted and able to slot in & still perform. Not really the kind of comment that show Durrant in a positive light - he has/had a direct influence on the young players....was he not a reserve team coach previously???
-
I think it is a very tricky question to answer because we have had Success & failure in varying amounts depending on your point of view. Back playing football - Success win the 3rd Div - Success Commercial progress - Success Cup runs - generally a failure (could/should have done better) I think improving the style of play has generally been a fans requirement, and has been a massive failure. Promoting youths to 1st team - success developing youths - generally a failure. Are the youngsters in the team improving with match experience??? A mixed bag, but the main goal was win the league, which we will do comfortably.

Kenny Shiels may not be a bad shout....at least he may get his boy playing better!!!

based on some of our recent performances, a point is a good result!!!

To coin a common phrase from McCoist...."We are where we are", and we have been for the last 7 months approx. The only negative factor that has had a direct result on the playing squad in recent months is the transfer embargo, and in truth how many decent quality signing could/would we have made in January if possible??? From the information present, the club is financially sound and being run in the proper manner. There is the league reconstruction thing, but that effect every team in the league, not just us. The fact is, we have a squad of players who are costing the club the 2nd highest wage bill in the country - we have individual players who's weekly wage is probably more than some of our oppositions entire monthly wage bill. Yet we are struggling to dominate these teams. I think it is fair to say that the majority of the Div3 managers now have the measure of McCoist & his team - they know how he will set the team up to play, and they know how they should play in order to make it difficult for us. You could argue that all these teams raise their game against us....What's new in that??? The big question is "Why aren't our guys raising their game??" The lack of pre-season excuse has long since lost any meaning, we are 3/4 of the way through the season. I also believe the novelty for the opposition of play us has long since worn off - we've played nearly every team at least 3 times now. I have said before, I believe we have the makings of a good team, but something is just not right somewhere.....it's like have a 6-pack of beer, but missing the plastic bit to hold them together. I'm believe the manager is that plastic bit.... -

Aird - 15 league apps (11 as sub) Crawford - 16 league apps (11 as sub) Faure - 12 league apps (6 as sub) Hemmings - 7 league apps for C/beath (Div1), 2 league apps Div3 With the exception of Hemmings, who has been injured & out on loan, the rest have been regularly involved in the 1st team. -

Generally, I would agree with this, however McCoist has now had 2 completely different sets of players in his time as manager, yet the fans are still talking about the SAME issues - sometimes you've got to look to the common denominator. Last season, the team started off well, building a healthy lead in the league, then lost it. Performance started to drop considerably BEFORE new of the financial stuff came out. Same again this season.....a decent start, not without its issues, but also a number of viable reasons. However as the season has progressed, the excuses have got thinner & thinner, but the performances haven't improved. The squad has changed, formations have changed, team selections have changed, style of play & attitude have not changed. McCoist stated that his squad is at the bare bones, yet every one of the players today have been fairly regular this season - no emergency call ups from the reserves/youths. What's the common denominator???? -
Ally McCoist warns young Rangers players they must improve
Darthter replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
McCoist statement in the original post was specifically aimed at the youngsters in the team - that they need to improve & progress. He also highlights that we kept a clean sheet (insinuating that the defence did well) - something that is a direct result of one of the youngsters doing his job effectively....something that many of the "old heads" have failed to do on many occasions. The real problem at the moment is that NONE of the team are performing to the standard required (or even coming close). I just thing that highlighting the youngsters is unfair on them considering the experienced players haven't exactly been a shining example.
