  1. Gotta be the shortest statement ever from CG....
  2. too many new players, not gelling together
  3. I reckon a fine of £500k - £1m should tide the SPL over for a wee while.....
  4. hardly been gutted either.... Yeates left of his own accord, to pursue a personal business. Murray's services have been retained on a consultancy basis ("pay-to-play" type idea) Sandaza was sacked for breach of contract (convenient as it was...) There may have been other staff that have gone, but these are the only ones that I know of that will directly effect McCoist...
  5. Very much doubt the Wife part....think she hates him as much as the Rangers fans!!! (Remember the car fiasco....)
  6. he may be realistic in the fact that his age will probably prevent him getting anything in the region of £16k a week. So he has to either take a wage cut, or take his chances elsewhere. By the sounds of it (and comments in the past) he loves playing for us, so wages might not be a massive issue. IMO, he would be welcomed back. Firstly because he handled the situation last year correctly (transferred over then request to go out on loan), but also because we need a leader on the park, and especially in the middle of defense.
  7. Makes you wonder if some of these clubs only offer 1 year deals......then hope to get them to resign before the contract expires - probably depending on how the team is doing. Motherwell for example have done very well this season....I would imagine some of the out of contract players may well want to stay & see how things go next year.
  8. Law, Humphrey, Hateley & Higdon for definate. What about Concalves from St Mirren???? If Alexander is offski, I would also take Randolph form Motherwell. ......and to REALLY throw the cat among the pigeons - Kris Boyd Some decent players available who could really add something to the team, without a massive outlay.
  9. I would add to the 2up/down - have at least a 3rd place (maybe fourth as well) as a playoff spot. I'm guessing the SPL/SFA have never heard of the KISS principle....
  10. Sesame Street HS....not a Saint or Cardinal in sight!!!
  11. The media & other Chairmen clearly building the pressure on St Mirren......if it fails it will all be there fault. St Mirren alone will have brought about the downfall of Scottish Football.....
  12. we must already be paying a fortune to keep McDowell in pencils, paper & clipboards - cookies would be cheaper. If Cookie Monster is a no-go....it would have to be Snuffalupicus (sp??). Our new management team:
  13. obviously, Messi would play in place of Argyiou @ RB!!!
  14. but who would he have as no.2??? My vote goes with Cookie Monster...
  15. I think its a good thing that CG has waited until now before getting out the chopping block - ensures cuts/changes can be made with practical knowledge, rather than a view of a balance sheet.
  16. I think there will be a number of significant changes over the coming weeks..... CG's been in the job for a good while now, he knows how things are being run and the league has been won - now the restructuring starts. I can see there being a combination of cost cutting & hopefully personnel improvements across the board. Sometimes these 2 can go hand-in-hand. If CG/The Board don't think Durrant and/or McDowell are up to the task, get shot completely. IMO, there is no point "relegating" them to the reserves/youths.....all that will happen is that they will produce sub-standard players for the 1st team. Hopefully the Board have a vision of what they want from the playing side of things (at all levels), and know who they believe can deliver that vision.
  17. while still finding somehow to stick the boot into us....
  18. VERY valid points. Sporting integrity would prevent a new TOP division being created to accommodate them. In order to accommodate the extra 12 teams, the SFL would need to create a new BOTTOM league, but then there could be complaints from other teams looking to join.... Could make for some interesting TV deals from SKY. Partick Thistle or Morton would become Scottish Champs!!!!
  19. Is the vote next week a secret ballot???? I think if it is, there will be more clubs voting against. If its not, more clubs will fall in line
  20. as opposed to right back or left wing???
  21. As I said in the OP...It may just be me seeing something that's not there, but when you look at the squad this season & in particular the "big stars" that were brought in, only Black has really been unaffected by injury. Sandaza - appeared to have constant niggling injuries, resulting in being in & out the squad (facial injury being the exception) Kyle - previous injury problems but believed to be over them, yet constantly injured and freed as a result Shiels - in & out the squad all season as a result of injury Temps - same as Shiels Darren Cole - appears to be constantly injured As I said previously, this is something I have noticed for a good while, but when the squad numbers are low, I tend to notice it a lot more....
  22. "The worst team in Rangers History" Lets be honest, they have hardly done anything to disprove the comment!!! The games after CG first said it, did they not draw against Stirling Albion???? Ally should have that comment plastered all over the dressing rooms for the players to see at every opportunity & get the players fired up & desperate to prove the CEO wrong - we've had one decent game in how many??? These are the players that Ally picks week in, week out, if they can only turn in a decent performance every 1 in 10 games, that tells you as much about the manager as the players.
  23. It may just be me, but we seem to have (and have done for a good few years) an ongoing problem with injuries to players. Going back a few years, Andy Webster was constantly "injured"......goes out on loan with no problem....comes back to us - "injured".....sold to Hearts - no problems. The latest appears to be Kane Hemmings. Lots of injury issues, then goes on load on Cowdenbeath and performs well. Comes back to us early, makes a couple of appearances (has he played a full game yet???), then picks up another injury. Templeton appears to be another that has regular injuries. More often than not, a lot of these injuries happen in training...... It may just be bad luck, or me reading more into things, but I just find it curious....
  24. The info about him on the web says he's a midfielder (with defensive tendancies...)
  25. Looks like someone's already been busy on Wikipedia.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_Peralta
