  1. as DB mentions.....just because you are the owner, doesn't mean you are a director - Mad Vlad @ Hearts being the prime example. How many times has he come out with various comments about refs etc, yet the SFA/SPL etc are powerless to do anything because officially he is not involved in the management/running of the club What could the SFA do if Hargreave Hale Limited (for example), the 2nd largest shareholder, made comment in the press about the performances of a Scottish ref??? They are part owners of the company, but have no presence on the Board. The same could apply to King....
  2. I think the reconstruction bit is a bit a red herring (ATM). It is highly unlikely now that ANYTHING is going to happen before next season. By the time something does happen we are either gonna be in the 1st Div or the SPL. Therefore the share price is most likely to be higher - now is the time to purchase the shares while the price is fluctuating. As for Imran's shares....how much did he pay for them??? Selling for £1.5m and getting outta Dodge after less than a year, is a pretty appealing prospect. As for Whyte.....with out CG & IA about, I believe his influence will diminish. He's playing on the fact that both are still actively involved with the club - it increases his de-stabilising effect. Also, any possible legal case may move towards the individuals & away from the club.
  3. The main point to consider now (compared to the past couple of years) is that there is no major financial cases overhead.....the BTC is gone, club debt is gone - the club is fresh. Therefore any new owner looking tom come in doesn't have these unknown, potential overheads to worry about. Also, from a financial stand point, the club is a pretty good bet - is the share price gonna drop as we go up the leagues??? unlikely. If anyone has been watching the shares...there has been a number of large sales recently - 50k, 25k etc Obviously we don't know who is buying/selling these shares, but it could be early signs of someone starting to get a foot in the door. CG is gone at the end of the month, it is feasible that should an offer come in for his share holding (currently valued @ £3m), he may well be more than willing to sell & head off into retirement. The same goes for Imran Ahmed's shares...is he gonna want to stick around for any length of time - his shares are valued around £1.5m mark. For a sum of £5m, it would allow someone a majority stake of around 10%. A take over may not be too far away.
  4. CG's shares are currently valued @ £3m - that would give any purchaser a majority share (just) IA's shares are currently valued @ £1.3m For £5m (round figure) a potential purchaser could own approx 10% of the club.
  5. Looks like another trade of 50k share as well today - looks like some folk offloading (at least) some of their stock while at a decent price....
  6. Another block 25K shares sold today (£15k)...... on the plus side, the share price has increased today....
  7. Also interesting that P Murray stated that he only trusts MM & WS 100%.....yet Ian Hart was part of Murray's BK was he not....
  8. I think he HAD to go.....but thought he was doing a good job. His ability to open mouth before engaging brain was his ultimate downfall. I think a precedent was set with Sandaza - he was sacked for a helluva lot less that what CG did. CG publicly embarrassed the club, bringing charges from the SFA and concerns raised from our new sponsors - possibly costing the club a lot of cash. The continued situation with Whyte has also done nothing the help the situation.
  9. That'll be Mr Traynor then....
  10. What about Regan or Doncaster???
  11. That'll be why CG was at the recent Saints game (according to the Mhedia...)
  12. Rumour has it that they contacted the European Court of Human rights for clarification....Mr Lennon is clearly being victimised. They were told to "F*ck off"
  13. I must have missed the media outcry about this in the media & from every other club in the country....
  14. There has been several "official" fans polls.....they just chose to ignore the results.
  15. After reading that.....I think its a godsend that it didn't get voted through.... Simply keeping track of games after the split & which league any points would apply do would be mind-boggling.
  16. The main reason that the Banstead thing stuck out for me was the Aiden Earley connection. Originally all connections between Earley & Whyte were denied.....now it looks very much the opposite. Couple that with the fact that the Bandstead money went to one of Earley's companies & not directly to the club & things really start to get fishy....
  17. Ogilvie will get dropped in no time - he obviously only there to push through a Rangers-based agenda.....
  18. To be honest, that would probably be the best way forward. Put together an elected cross-section of the professional teams & get them to decide on the best way forward for Scottish football. Then just do it.
  19. Banstead Athletic....anyone remember them. For some reason, they popped back into my head last night, and the money that was supposedly paid to them - £250k. Dug out this article from the DR: The date of the article - 7th February 2012 The date of the payment (from another article) was around August time. Banstead always denied ever receiving the cash as it was paid to one of Earley's companies which was a sponsor of Banstead. We have also been told recently that Whyte (and possibly Earlel) allegedly stumped up £135k+ (approx) to help CG's takeover bid (yet to be proven beyond doubt)......could it be that once again, Whyte used the club to effectively buy itself again???
  20. They need to do SOMETHING to encourage youth development into the 1st teams. How they do it, I'm not exactly sure. For too long the bigger teams have simply relied on buying in replacements rather than looking to the youths/reserves. We have HAD to do it this season, and as a result there have been a number of shining lights emerged with huge potential. In the long term, this can only help the Scottish game. Again, I'm not sure how they would regulate the financial side of things, but I think closer scrutiny & control wouldn't go amiss....
  21. As others have said elsewhere....the actual reconstruction of the leagues is nothing more than shuffling the deckchairs on the Titanic. The issues listed above are the really important bits (for me...). Much has also been said about clubs struggling financially due to the plans being booted oot. A number of these clubs are struggling NOW, so cash from reconstruction, which wouldn't be available for another few months at the earliest is a bit of a red herring. I have also not seen ANY evidence of where all this extra revenue is gonna come from. Do the SPL have a potential sponsor lined up....a deal that is 100% dependent on reconstruction??? If the extra revenue is simply from the league prize money, this won't arrive in club bank accounts until the end of the season....not gonna help any financial issues just now. I get the impression that a number of clubs & the SPL are using the defeated plans as a convenient excuse for having nae cash. Clubs have been run outwith their means, and now its coming back to bite them on the arse. Step 1: Dissolve the FAILED SPL - it hasn't worked. Step 2: Get all senior clubs back under the umbrella of the SFL Step 3: apply a redistributed money package Step 4: Bring in financial measures ensuring that clubs live within their means & enforce it Step 5: Bring in/back regulations to have a minimum number of Scottish (Possibly expand to British) players in your match day squad - help develop & maintain our own talent. Once that is done, then start looking at the league structure again.
  22. We have been guilty of this all too often over the years - short term fixes. McCoist needs to get on board with this philosophy, other wise we will end up in exactly the same state as before. As has also been stated....Miller has jumped ship twice before due to being offered better deals else where. I believe he would welcome a move to us coz no-one else will offer a similar wage packet!!!!
  23. "Mr Lunny??......are you there Mr Lunny?? " <shrug> he must have popped out for some lunch - he'll be on this ASAP I'm sure.......
  24. they do say "actions speak louder than words..."
