  1. Bell has been linked with us on & off for the past few years, however it never happened probably due to having McGregor & Alexander already. ANytime I have seen him play, he's always looked comfortable & generally puts in consistent performances - I think he will be an excellent signing. The only other SPL keeper I would have gone for is Darren Randolph (Motherwell)....much the same as Bell in that he's consistent, reliable & has saved his team on many occasions.
  2. Truth of the matter is....this season in a good number of games, we've needed a good poacher. At times, we've created a lot of good chances in a game, but failed to put it in the net. Jig & Little have done well with 50+ goals between them, but Clark has nailed 40+ by himself. Goals are what win you matches.....not how much running your players do.
  3. They are now....not 6 months ago. Maybe now that they have their foot in the door a bit more, they are starting to get more confident.
  4. If the 6% is right...they could either be behind Blue Pitch or Artemis Investment.....
  5. Is the purpose of the commission to find a guilty or not-guilty verdict???? Many folk may be expecting one or other......the "verdict" may simply be to document exactly what happened during the buy-out and any dealings since then, thus giving clarity on the situation as a whole.
  6. he could be deemed "not guilty" of having an active involvement with CW. The main thrust of the investigation was to clarify of CW was firstly still involved in any way with the club or the actual purchase of the assets. To be found "not guilty" CG would need to prove 100% that CW had/has no involvement whatsoever with Sevco Scotland or the actual purchasing of the assets. I think a lot of it actually comes down to the official documentation between CG & Duff & Phelps....documentation which isn't available to the public.
  7. Guilty or not....I can't see CG returning to his previous role. While I think he did a good job, his mouth was starting to become a liability. He has done his job, now time for someone else to take over for the long term.
  8. The report states that he has no claim over the Club's assets ie. Ibrox.....at most he MAY be able to claim that he was misled about CG's takeover & therefore if successful could be awarded a damages payout.
  9. Withholding PAYE/NI is not a criminal offence. If it was, CW would already be behind bars. I believe it is fairly common practice that HMRC is trying to reduce. By not paying the PAYE/NI, it gives companies a bit of temporary extra cash flow.
  10. and we thought McCoist had a hard job, following Walter....
  11. I don't think you can....they are 2 separate things in the eyes of the law. Folk may argue that if CW hadn't taken over, there wouldn't have been a PAYE/NI problem, but in reality the previous board could have done exactly the same thing, the fact that they didn't is irrelevant. The non-payment of PAYE/NI etc was a result of the club having nae cash.....not because of how the owner obtained his shareholding....
  12. you would need to proved that the faulty engines were a direct result of the illegal take over though, other wise it's 2 unrelated incidents. The company may have starting making said engines from inferior quality materials in order to reduce costs - that has no connection with how the owner acquired the business....
  13. WRT CW's takeover & the SPL/SFA....the only real questions that can be asked are concerning the Fit & Proper person requirements & testing - did the SPL/SFA properly vet Whyte before the takeover??? If they did and found him to be OK.....what sort of tests did they carry out in order to reach this decision?? if they did and found him not to be OK....what did they do about it??? If no tests were carried out...why not??? Separate questions should be answered concerning the non-payment of PAYE/NI - did the SFA/SPL know about it, when did they find out and did they do anything about it??? I feel that if/when criminal charges are brought against CW, then the SPL/SFA will simply say "nothing to do with us..." - which is probably correct.
  14. The other way to possibly look at it....Green was the only bidder to put a full & proper offer on the table. By this I mean, he included a course of action should a CVA fail. From memory, none of the other bidders appeared to do this (it certainly wasn't made public). He submitted the offer stating that should a CVA fail, he will buy the assets @ £5.5m. The other bidders appeared to only include a figure for the CVA. To include both senarios, is surely the best option for the creditors etc - everyone is clear what is going to happen. We don't know what the other bidders @ the time had planned if the CVA failed....would they still of have had the cash to purchase the assets??? CG put forward a proposal that covered all bases & was accepted. I don't know one way or the other if this was part of a grand plan or not, but IMO, it was the best offer put to D&P.
  15. The other parties involved in the bidding process had ample opportunity to get a better bid in before the sale was finalised - the fact of the matter is that they didn't. If I recall correctly, the WS & co bid was made to CG...not D&P, since CG's Group were the new owners. WS & co chanced their arm hoping that a £500k profit within 30 mins of closing the deal would persuade them to sell.
  16. did the £6m bid (from WS & co) not come in AFTER the sale had been finalised????
  17. In essence there is no extra cash being generated by the new structure.....they are just using the same cash that the SFL gets anyway, but weighting it in favour of SFL1 teams....
  18. haven't you heard...there's only one possible manager to replace Sir Alex, and only Man Utd are big enough to temp him away from his current club.....It's gotta be Neil Lennon... :roflmao:
  19. just making himself available for the "Top" job...
  20. Hugh Keevans kinda confirmed this in the DR today...stating that he is currently banned from Porkheid, & wee Chick banned from Ibrox - the latter finding it very amusing.
  21. McCoist is gonna play him out of position anyway, so what difference does it make....
  22. Novo should be brought back as a player/coach/mentor. He obviously loves the club, always gives 110% and has been known to score a few goals. He would be a massively positive influence on the current squad of youngsters, who would benefit greatly from his enthusiasm. (I have Novo as a coach in Football Manager, along with Prso....)
  23. From what I recall from the caller....it was due to reduced ticket sales - there was no mention of safety certs. The caller was told directly by the ticket office when trying to renew his season ticket for a particular area.
  24. can't disagree with that...however, if we can't get it right @ a local level, what chance is there of is being successful on a global scale???
  25. Lets start with a decent LOCAL scouting system, then expand on that....
