Don't know (yet) if this is a good thing or not.... WS has stated before that he didn't want to be chairman - he may not have the business skills required for the post. However, I think we can all be confident that he will always try & do what is best for RFC. Will he now be more hands-on than before??? The BIG positive is that the fan base trust Walter, so hopefully we will see some much needed stability within the boardroom. If WS is given the power to change personnel, but doesn't....does that then mean that the board are up to the task & therefore trustworthy???

That may still be the case....time will tell.

Don't agree with Fan Ownership, but all for more structured fan involvement.

There has been A LOT of scandal over the past few weeks, yet the share price has remained constant - what sort of action would be required to make it drop further??? I think it would need to be something pretty catastrophic!!! WS leaving the board ain't gonna suddenly make independent investors suddenly ditch their shares. I think it would take something along the lines of heading for admin again to make these investors dump their shares & take was cash they can for them.

As the OP has stated, I think that the fan base is far too fractured for this to be successful. A couple of years ago, everyone was calling for an end to a single owner of the club - they didn't want a "dictatorship". Everyone wanted the shares split across multiple parties. Now that we have that scenario, a lot of fans don't want it - the common question being "who owns us?". Folk are wanting a wealthy benefactor to come in & plough £m's into the club with nothing in return. If fan ownership was brought in, I can see folk complaining about which fans group (possibly) is the main driving force etc. This has already been shown with the RST - not a popular group among some fans. Middle ground is the only way forward. Ownership split between multiple, wealthy Rangers people in the most part, with the odd neutral body in there for some balance. A clear line of communication with the fans is also a must - possibly with representation on the board at some level. Also, one clear body/banner for the fans to get behind. A body that is well run & organised that all fans can be proud of and eager to join.

Share price has been stable @ about 56p since the start of May....I think it has reached its level.

Watching an interview with The Hammer on RTV.... That guy is worse than Julio Gordio from the fast show....German accent, mixed in with rather broad Glasweigan....
-
Jon Daly, Cammy Bell and Nicky Law - are you happy?
Darthter replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Just watched the interviews with Law, Daly & Bell on RTV....every one of them come across as very enthusiastic about joining/playing for the club - Cammy Bell couldnae keep the smile from his face!!! The 3 of them are certainly whetting the appetite for next season.... -
The boardroom can bicker all they like......as long as team business continues normally.
-
I couldn't care where he plays....as long as he does it to the best of his abilities....if he can play well as a CB, then why not utilise him there.
-
Jon Daly now confirmed as 3rd signing...
-
Definitely.....I get the impression that with the names confirmed, coupled with the ones nearly confirmed....there is a bit of excitement in the fan base....
-
so...the Ready Crest is reserved for HRH??? Sounds fair enough... What number does she play???

The Summer 2013 Transfers and Rumours Thread
Darthter replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
They are probably still getting a fairly substantial wage hike compared to what they were getting. -

I may get pelters....but I think either Hegarty or Faure would do better than Cribari. -

on paper, that looks a belter of a team!!!! (with the exception of Cribari, who I'm still not convinced about) It's young, pacey & very attacking (or should be...) -
certainly saying the right things.... Both Law & Bell have certainly come across as being VERY enthusiastic about playing for the club - which can only be a good thing.

EXCLUSIVE: Rangers move for Motherwell's Chris Humphrey
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Think Humphrey would be a good signing..... -
we're gonna have the best looking quiff's next season...

Things are looking positive. Regardless of the Boardroom power struggles etc, the important business of getting players in is still working. Now we just need to get Nicky Clark confirmed, and a solid CB.

There is a rumour that someone has requested clarification on this issue. It is not 100% clear who the request came from as he/she had used a blunt crayon to write the letter, however UEFA will investigate. Initial reports claim the crayon came from a McDonalds happy meal.

totally agree....Match day should give everyone 90mins break from anything going on in the boardroom.
