  1. QoS get brought up constantly, coz they did romp Div2 with a fraction of our budget. We romped Div3. The real acid test will be who romps their respective division this season!!! QoS's main goals will be to not get relegated and if possible push for the title....our goal is simple - Win!!! There is not alternative or Plan B. Building a nice stable team is essential - all our great teams of the past have had stability at their heart. Hopefully that is something we will see McCoist developing.
  2. Looks like a standard, off the peg top. Can't see the "mighty" Chesterfield having much creative input into their strip design....
  3. aye...available in XXXXXXXXXL
  4. I think some of Ally's signing have been very good - Clarke, Law & Bell are the 3 who immediately stand out. Peralta is a complete unknown at the moment. Daly & Smith are both experienced players. I think Smith will be more of a back up than regular 1st team - unless there are plans to sell Wallace (which I hope not). Foster is a proven RB - something which fans were crying out for last season. Will be interesting to see what happens to the others who played @ RB. However, I feel that we have enough decent players there already - I think Argy will prove to be a decent signing @ RB....Mitchel (or was it Murdoch...) also played very well there towards the end of the season. I think if Goian & Boca are offski, we need one experienced CB. Thought Faure & Hegarty looked pretty decent together, but could benefit from an "older head" to mentor them further.... The big test of Ally's signing strategy will be future transfer windows. At present his hands are still tied & limited to who is available out of contract. It so happens that a number of those players have previously played for us. Ultimately....time will tell
  5. There appears to be lack of vision at times - stick with what you know. The big question is....is it down to the Managers lack of vision, or just a poor scouting network???
  6. not heard anything, one way or another....
  7. Wonder if htey had any particular Bob Marley tracks belting out @ training???
  8. Had a wee look at the photos from training today....2 things struck me. 1) Couldn't see Neil Alexander 2) Cammy Bell had No.1 on his jersey Has there been any further news on Alexander's contract negotiations???
  9. Longer term....could Hemmings have been the better option over Jon Daly??? I am getting the feeling that we will very quickly fall back into our old ways - only a short term view!!! We will probably get a couple of good seasons out of Daly, then he'll either move on for nowt or disappear into the reserves. Hemmings is still developing and could still be improving over the next 3-4 years, while still retaining some value (dependant on success...). He did well while out on loan, got called back early, then never really got a chance. I thought he looked decent when he did play. All the best Kane!!!
  10. Possible....looks quite smart...
  11. I think that was one of the main reasons for keeping the SPL registered company number....it allowed the more "lucrative" (no laughing at the back) contracts to remain in place.
  12. As I mentioned before....i think the club should politely decline.....after all we are "only" a wee 2nd division club - hearts predicament has nothing to do with us.....why are they not approaching other SPL clubs??? To get an idea of hearts fan views on the situation....have a wee flick at the jambs kickback website. They hate Rangers with a passion. They are still revelling in our down fall, while confident the their situation is nothing to worry about. They still claim that we were fielding players we couldn't afford, yet for the past 5 or 6 years they have been paying players 100%+ of their annual turnover.
  13. I think the club should show sympathy towards the Hearts situation, but politely decline the offer, after they consult with the fans of course....
  14. from memory, he had a bit of a shaky start but settled down pretty quickly. I felt he was kinda like Papac, in that he was rarely a stand-out but just went about doing the job asked of him.
  15. They certainly walked/ran funny in those days....maybe that's whay they needed such BIG shorts....
  16. I have certainly noticed a difference in all reporting of the Hearts stuff....it does appear to be taking a sympathetic slant to it. I am guessing that the graphics dept @ the DR are all on holiday, since there have been no fancy alterations of the Hearts badge or dark storm clouds over Tynecastle. Even the page headers "Broken Hearts" has a sympathetic ring to it, compared to "Rangers in Crisis". I have heard no reports of how Hearts failure to pay multiple PAYE/NI bills has resulted in less money going to the NHS or the armed forces..... I have heard no reports of how Hearts failure to pay their players should result in their recent Scottish cup win being stripped....they were after all playing players that the couldn't afford (literally)
  17. now all they need is a new strip to sell...
  18. I don't think they can afford the admin process.....which I why I wouldn't be surprised if the Court of Session doesn't approve the Admin request. They have had a number of well documented cash flow problems over recent months, as well as a number of Winding-up orders from HMRC. They owe £m's to struggling foreign companies who will be looking to maximise any return etc. I would find it VERY difficult to describe the club as a going concern. There are reportedly a number of potential buyers....but do they have the funds to firstly keep the club running over the summer, and secondly to move the club forward into next season & beyond??? I certainly don't get that impression.
  19. The biggest problem for Hearts is CASH.... Right now they don't have any, and there's no more coming in.... For a CVA to be successful, you need some one to put up the cash to pay the creditors..... For a newco, you need someone to buy the assets.... There has been talks for a while about a group looking to take over Hearts, but I get the impression that they aren't exactly rolling in excess cash. I actually think there is quite a strong possibility that their Admin application may be rejected. In order for their application to be accepted, I'm sure the entity has to show signs of being a valid concern & to be able to finance the Admin period....Hearts can't even pay a £100k bill in full, have more cash due to HMRC, and a load of unpaid wages......is there even the remotest possibility that a judge could see the on financial future in a positive light??? I do hope that they can survive, since it would be a blow to the Scottish game. However I find it hard to offer any sympathy towards them. As others have said, Hearts were very vocal about our problems - those in glass houses etc....
  20. but how many are going through the upheaval that we are.....It may be due to the constant board level squabbling etc that there was a delay in approving the design..... Sometimes there are valid reasons for delays....
  21. They generally look OK....don't like the collar though.
  22. It could be contractual.....they may not be able to officially sell the Puma kit until the current contract officially ends!!! If that is the case, there is nothing they can do about it, and is all part & parcel of changing suppliers....
  23. It is a wise investment though....our share price should increase as we work up the league, and the boardroom etc settles down. In 5 years (ish), I think you would stand to make a pretty penny.
  24. We ended up in Div3 because the CVA failed & we went the Newco route. The SPL board voted on whether to allow the transfer of the SPL share held by "oldco" to the Newco. The SPL board voted not to allow the transfer of the share. We effectively had no league to play in, so applied to the SFL - automatic entry is only available via demotion from the SPL. The SFA decided the correct thing to do was to place us in Div3. Hearts are in a completely different situation in that the financial entity running them is not in administration. At present they are struggling to pay bills & have a severe cash-flow problem. IF they go down the Newco route, I not sure how the new SPFL setup will effect things - is there a share to be transferred??? If they Newco, will they be allowed to continue in the top league....will they be relegated...it all depends on the new rule book!!!
