  1. That very point was raised on SSB last night..... IF the SFA want to be consistent in their application of the rules, I would expect many more players to be carpeted in the coming weeks. I believe McCoist said in the press conference yesterday that a quick, informal discussion with his players about gambling turned up a list of over 100 names of folk who regularly bet on football. If Black is going to get done, it should only be for betting on matches involving his registered team at that time. Should he REALLY be charged for putting a fiver on the CL final (for example...)
  2. Strong words from McColl.... He comes across as having a very clear objective, and feels he has the backing of a vast amount of shareholders. As stated in the article, the whole board can be removed at the AGM anyway. IF the current Board manage to survive McCollCo's demands, in the morning of the AGM, they could just find themselves voted off at the AGM in the afternoon. There will be change, that I'm sure off....time will tell if it works out for the longer term good!!!
  3. Noticed from piccies in the paper that Ceptic didn't have Magners as their shirt sponsor - it was Tipperary Mineral water. Anyone know why???
  4. I don't buy the conspiracy stuff....and I don't buy that the SFA or anyone else sat on this info waiting for the right time to release it. Chances are, that someone within Ladbrokes noticed the latest bets from Blacks account - he may well use it to bet on other sports. This then prompted an internal investigation @ Ladbrokes, which is when they discovered the other football related bets going back several years. Once the "severity" of the betting was established, it was then reported to the footballing authorities. Why not the Police??? It's not a Police matter - it is not unlawful to anyone (over 18) to bet on a football match. It is the SFA that prohibit this action. IF found guilty, he should be dismissed immediately....but we shall await the outcome of the hearing.
  5. Front page of the Record tomorrow methinks...
  6. Lifted from a Rumour site: Sell Ibrox, Murray Park & Albion carpark for £7m, then have an option to buy back Ibrox ONLY for £10m within the 1st year - didn't know that Wonga were now doing property deals???? I'm not the greatest financial mind out there (constantly skint), but even I can see how bad a deal that would be....
  7. Doesn't look like ANYONE has bought them....YET!!! Possible signs of someone jumping ship.
  8. Looks like the share price has also crept up to about 43p
  9. 3,000,000 shares sold is a short space of time last night.... http://www.lse.co.uk/ShareTrades.asp?shareprice=RFC&share=rangers_int
  10. Lee Wallace not getting picked due to Rangers league status....yet Andy Webster is still included even though he doesn't even have a team to play for in ANY league!!!! Did Strachan not see Wallace's performance last week????
  11. It's either that or curl up in a ball & cry....
  12. Hopefully this will be a good thing.... Laxley have a significant investment in their Rangers shares. They are looking to turn a profit on that investment, however there is a significant different between Laxley & Green/Ahmed. Laxley will want to turn a profit at a corporate level rather than a personal one. They will do this by using their shareholding power to ensure that the company/club is run correctly. If this is done, the share price will increase as RFC is more attractive to investors, sponsors etc. From my limited understanding, they will make any profit by trading shares on the open market, therefore they are not taking profit or cash from the club, unlike Green/Ahmed. They will want a good, strong board in place who are going to run the company/club correctly in order to increase the share price.
  13. I thought I read somewhere that the Ramsden appearances counted..... Edit....found this: source: http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?57978-Trialists-Rules-Explained
  14. The important thing with Daly is that he is getting into the position, and getting the opportunities. If he continues to do that, the goals will come. However, I believe that last weekends game was Daly's 2nd run out as a trialist - he can only be used once more before Sept 1st. Nicky Clark will then get his chance....
  15. Follow follow was driving me nuts...... Thanks to Frankie & his team for getting things back....
  16. So you didn't see them play & win 4:0 in Livingston then? Last season there was also the odd game where the team put in a good performance, and the fans started thinking we were turning a corner.....just to be hit with a dead end. It'll be the same this year - is it too much to ask for a reverse of that - decent performances, with the odd below par one???
  17. That's the exact reason why its time for McCoist to walk.... The excuse last season was initially the lack of players, and pre-season, young & inexperienced team etc - valid excuses at the time. However 12 months on and a full pre-season, the team & style of play hasn't changed one bit. New signings or not, we should have enough about us to beat Forfar!!! What happens when we can play the new signings and we still turn in the same level of performance??? Still grind out 0-0 draws & last minute 1-0 wins against inferior, part time teams....what will be the excuse then???
  18. just like every other club actually....loads of empty seats!!!!
  19. I think I'm firmly in the "McCoist must go" camp.... As others have said, the defeat to Forfar isn't exactly a shock result based on last seasons performances, and some of the pre-season performances (even though we didn't lose, with one exception). I can see it being the same up & down performances this season - one good performance, followed by 1/2 a dozen poor ones. The team has no consistency and for a large part, don't even play as a team. I feel that McCoist as all the component parts at his disposal to produce a VERY good team.....he just can't put them all together correctly. I think it is time or McCoist to step down as Manager, and let someone with a new fresh outlook step in. Who that person is, I don't know but I would prefer if there was a good footballing pedigree there rather than a previous Rangers history. We have already lost 1 season in the rebuilding process....lets not lose a second.
  20. Charles Green tried to shake hands with an Ally McCoist cardboard cut-out..... McCoist (thinking): "If he disnae put that f*ckin had down, A'hm sticking the nut oan him...." Green: "Mr McCoist, I presume...." Green: "I've got a tie like that....one free with every million shares!!!" Green: "Pull my finger...."
  21. Rather interesting thread over on one of the Hearts forums: http://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/index.php?/topic/131048-moaning-groaning-rangers-just-fed-up-with-them-now/ I'm sure more than one or two of those posts could be pulled up under the offensive behaviour act....
  22. Stoney, Telfer & Murdoch have had run outs with the 1st team I'm sure....possibly Burrows as well.
  23. We have an official Electronic Cigarette partner????
  24. Welcome to the club!!!! The points deduction & transfer embargo are written in the league rules & apply to EVERY club that goes into administration - no one can moan or complain about these penalties. Hearts have got off VERY lightly IMO. They have had a number of transfer embargos over the past 2-3 years due to various monetary issue - non-payment of tax, non-payment of players wages etc. They have also been allowed to sign new players when they clearly haven't had sufficient funds available (Danny Wilson being the latest example) - Unfair sporting advantage anyone??? The have also been either threatened by or issued with multiple winding-up orders from HMRC. Yet there is still extreme leniency shown..... Here's a question.....What if Hearts are still in administration come February???? Effectively the punishment handed out by the SFA become null & void.....
  25. keep in mind though, that the league structure has changed. When our CVA failed, there were 2 distinct bodies running the Scottish game. We were voted out of one body, and voted into the other in the bottom tier. Now, there is only one body - if they are liquidated & assets bought, they will most likely carry on as normal, maybe relegated down one league...they will most certainly not be booted to the bottom tier!!!!
