  1. Snatched from FF. Methinks the rumour mill is going into orbit these next 36 hours or so ...
  2. He sure believes he keeps the Rangers fans happy with these tweets and twitterings. Does he get something for a few thundred clicks?
  3. Why would he want / expect a sweetener from Villa? I doubt they are that desperate to sell him ...
  4. It looks like the press crawls over one another to provide us with a even more "accurate and up-to-date" story. As said before, there is no need to get excited about anyone, unless he's seen with pen in hand and ink drying on the contract. As for Cuellar ... I can't see any reason in pressing through with this today. He won't play for another months or so, thus he could well be the last signing of this window with no problem at all. EDIT: And it is quite interesting to see that after all the speculation about Cuellar going to Espanyol instead of us, it was HIS agent who offered him to Espanyol, not them wanting him. So much about agent-/newspaper-talk and credibility.
  5. European expectations? I would say reaching the group phase is a good target for the time being. If we manage that and with a nice dip into the transfer market, there is hope for Europe beyond x-mas. No matter how it resolves then, I would regard that as a success. First and foremost, our aim should be retaining the title. For, aside from making it Four in a Row, it would be back to straight entry to the group phase again next season.
  6. Yes, I see Hemmings as back up for all others, not Jelavic  Everyone is back up to Jela
  7. Not wanting to debate all too much, but the signs could be that we will groom Hemmings as back up to Healy and Miller. Of course, you'd have to remember that we also have Lafferty and Beattie here, and we won't want to have too many strikers about (should injury stay away from us). STV chaps noted that the RSA striker Mphela (whom we look after same time last year) is going to have a trial at the Timdome soon ...
  8. He's a back-up squad player. Not more, but not less. If he thinks he should be more than that, no problem here. Not everyone has the guts of an Alexander ... and there's no reason to be angry about it. Taking up the pay-cheque for essentially "nothing" is not looked upon kindly by many people either, I would assume.
  9. We've got one dreadline ahead, I would assume that it is not the Cuellar and Goodwillie deadline though. Neither would be available for these CL games.
  10. Why would we offer more for an untried Spanish 23-year old who has so far plied his trade in their second division? And it's not a Barca player we are talking about. Of course, we only get filtered news anyways ...
  11. Well, they can play football too and are most likely seasoned people too. Whereas our youngster usually face off against other youngsters ... on occasion.
  12. That's Kerkar as left-back. Kholert/Kohlert? Who might this be? Ain't Rhys McCabe a striker too?
  13. A "know-nothing-about" from a team that got relegated from the BL last season ahead of a solid left-back who delivered three titles over the last three seasons? Well, well ... BTW, our FF-friend from Turkey said that TurkishFootball mentions Miller having already agreed a deal with us and Bursa already eyeing a replacement from Sweden. (Ah ... see above for that!)
  14. Wasn't there a report on "Whyte wanting to hand Ally 15m and we are trying to finally get Bartley ... and Cuellar". Dunno, but if Cuellar wants to go to Spain, Bartley would still be a decent choice. Well, all depends on people wanting to sell their players (at the right price) and people willing to come. Wishlists are just that, wishlists.
  15. Those 5m to 15m will have included re-signing McGregor, Davis, Whittaker and some of the others on bumper deals, I would assume. Not spending them till the 17th day of the transfer window does not mean that they aren't there. As always, people should start to understand that wanting to sign people does not equate with people coming willingly and gladly. For all the glamour and glory that surrounds our club, this is the 21st century and money rules the world. And family stuff too. If people do not fancy the SPL or playing in Scotland, if people want to stay closer to home or their families, there is nothing that can be done about it. And, BTW, that is the case for another 200 or so clubs in Europe looking to strengthen their sides.
  16. Keep in mind that what you read in the press does not need to be what someone actually said. Especially if we talk about foreigners trying their luck in English.
  17. On a sidenote, this deal is nothing that needs to be rushed, since he's injured anyways. We may need him for the CL play-off's at the earliest, going by his injury status.
  18. Well, no matter what, Cuellar made somewhat in the region of 3m to 6m while being down at Villa. Earning about half of that (plus bonuses maybe) will not set him back that much, I would gather.
  19. At last, stv runs this now ... He can't run just yet. Well well. At least Miller and Davidson could do that
  20. Who or what is fourth official and how credible is this source? All very quiet on the main news sites
  21. On a sidenote, Malm¶ has 16 games under their belt and are 8th in the table, 10 points behind leaders Helsingborgs. Them being halfway down their season is a plus we should not count out. As in: we have to hit the ground running.
  22. As has been said, so far only the Record has this news, not even a hint at the gossip site of the BBC or NewsNow. Just to keep the feet firmly rooted here.
  23. If anything it was RW, since we signed him from Rapid Vienna, not Austria. Nitpicking Loyal
  24. 3 years on 40k a week ... so he has set some 6,2m aside by now. I think it would be fair to say that he could show some understanding here ...
  25. BBC Scotland did actually report it in fine detail ... and Whyte and/or we should act quickly, as these idiots seem to be out early this season and we have to stop it, ere it gains any great momentum. It has a) to be determined what is actually deemed to be sectarian, b) what is bigotted, c) what is banned from the song list, and d) that certain section of the media who continually snipe at us need to be checked for their bacground. As it seems, some of those who have targetted us this time have a definite Celtic-minded background and have to be kept in check by the authorities. Obviously, we should have a certain amount of self-policing too, for some idiots will stop at nothing to get their point over. That said, you will always have some people sing FTP or the like in a crowd of thousands, as you will always have some nutters behaving out of order at any game in the world. Starting a witch hunt solely based on this, as was done in Eindhoven, it seems, is out of order too. Any half-decent operatiing officer of football ground policing and stewarding will tell you.
