Most likely. But I doubt many people speak Scots (i.e. the "English" derived from the Angles' language rather than the Saxon language of England (and what you use for "Scottish English")) in daily life anyway ... -

Shouldn't this be Yella Caird? Well, at least in Scots. -

On the topic of youngsters in Scotland ... Rangers U17’s beat PSG and they need to be given a chance 16th November Former Rangers youth coach Cameron Campbell has revealed his frustration at the lack of opportunity for youngsters in Scotland. Now with RB Leipzig, Campbell moved to Germany at the turn of the year and has enjoyed his time with a club that puts developing talent to the very top of its priorities. And while Lennon Miller at Motherwell and David Watson at Kilmarnock have been Scottish Premiership standouts this term, Campbell reckons there are others denied the chance to shine in his homeland. He told the Daily Record: “It all comes down to needing two things. Talent and opportunity. “What frustrates me is when everyone talks about the gap (between youth and first-team) like it’s unattainable. It’s the academy’s job to produce players who are good enough. But you then need a whole club to buy into creating opportunities. Those players need chances. When I was a youth coach at Rangers, I saw how much talent there is in Scotland. “Lennon Miller and David Watson are doing really well at Motherwell and Kilmarnock right now. But I would argue there are one or two at the top seven or eight clubs who – if given the opportunity – could probably do similar things. “It frustrated me. These kids need a chance. We’d go to international tournaments with Rangers U17’s and beat PSG. So talent wise, player for player, we have enough to compete with them. But when they get to that age, they need a chance to play first-team football. “Whether that’s at their club or through the loan system, opportunities must open up for them. One of the studies I’ve done at Leipzig is to look at the top 100 players in the world right now. “Ninety-seven per cent of them made their first team debut before the age of 20. When you look back at their journeys, most were involved in men’s football at some level from the age of 16. It’s no coincidence. It’s about creating opportunities.” https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/news/24728760.rangers-u17s-beat-psg-need-given-chance/ And while we are at it, the one and only Ryan Kent has been freed by Fenerbahce and the transfer window is but 6 weeks away. We would be in a far better place (for years) had our managers (including the current one) discontinued the system that does not work in Scottish football. We are probably the god-kings of possession and chances created. And likewise the god-kings of missed chances and goals conceded from a minimum of opportunities of the opposition. The bucket is with the manager. -

They reap the profits of a decade's access to CL millions, which allowed them to get better/more talented players earmarked for future transfers. And they got lucky with some home-grown chaps. Whether their business as such or financial challenges of the Scottish game would be better off without CL money is anyone's guess. Methinks their wage/turnover balance was not really good for years still, was it? -

That's why you throw them in for the last 10 to 15 mins. We did it with McKinnon, Devine, Lovelace and others. Or Patterson. Other teams throw them in out of necessity and they rise to become a Barron or Gilmour. Unless we blood these people, we'll never know. But that's a Rangers' plight for many a year. Yesterday, there was Hagi on the bench, Dowell too ... and both are ahead of Diomande in my "modern-day No.10 slot". You just hope he doesn't become another Aribo. We might just as well put Igamane or Danilo in his place, as they could have done all his pressing work too, and would have grabbed the ball and run for goal, not look for a deft short pass or the next player in an even better position than himself. Nothing against Diomande, but please not in that role. Almost more frustrating was Clement's lack of changes ... and, IMHO, inability to spot the dysfunctional No- 10 role. But he "lost" it for me a week or so ago, after he replied to the question about the need to change systems: !that needs time to implement!" -

Apart from the goalie, we could have used all players on the bench from the start and would have been better off. We rarely lose against Hearts, but today was far too close for comfort. Had they got a draw, it would have been well deserved. Shocking team selection, shocking line-up, shocking display. Grab them three points and run! Hope not too many servicemen had the displeasure to see this. -

Any reason we cannot remove Diomande for an actual attacker, preferably a striker? He contributes next to nothing in that role ... -

Hagi behind the obvious main striker, no Diomande. We need someone creative to feed our "front 3", someone willing to shoot. Diomande always reminds me of Sir Walter's quote on Scott Nisbet (methinks): "you never know what he's going to do with the ball." (After that freak goal against Brugges.) But in Diomande's case, I sometimes wonder whether he knows it either. Like a mixture of Kamara and Sakala ... Maybe give Sterling a job next to Raskin or Barron, so either of them get a breather, Kasanwirjo as RB. -

I'll probably never get the changes our managers make ... Dessers were down and out after 75, Diomande too. McCausland, Lovelace, and Igamane should have seen football earlier, or ahead of Tavernier. Raskin and Barron immense again, our defense looked rather solid once more in Europe. Dessers does his business, a goal every other game. We need to start Danilo and Igamane more regularly, though, preferably alongside one another. PC must finally come up with some goods in that area ... -

Hagi and Bajrami await relevant slot allocation ... unless PC goes fro Diomande. Bajrami through the middle might mean McCausland on the left. Or one of the strikers. -

IMHO, with him and Jefte, we are well covered on the left side of defence and attack. I'd have no problems playing both and Bajrami through the middle behind our striker(s). -

Thought your days were those of Jimmy Millar? It was obviously a sarcastic joke, but even the most inept board-member can see that the football we play is not made for Scotland. So any newcomer, and I assume a loss on Sunday will see changes being made, should be questioned whether he's willing and able to change our current style of play. -

The mess we were and are in are not made on the business part of things. We are where we are money-wise, we knew and we know it. What failed us time and again, under SG, Gio, Beale and now Clement, is sticking to a system that is not made for the Scottish game - unless you have the players to play it. And even if we had them, it would have been difficult. For this system to be successful, you have to have two fullbacks playing the winger part, and two attackers either side of the central striker who supply assists and contribute with goals. We fell into the Morelos trap, as we essentially geared much of our game to assist him. As soon as he dropped out of form, we toiled. Now everyone looks at Dessers or Colak or whomever to become the new Morelos- or Negri-like saviour, instead of playing two strikers, two wingers, and just one DM. Most modern DMs can play football as well, i.e. if space opens up, attack. Throughout the years we had too many midfielders on the pitch who are not goalscorers, so they 7 out of 10 times passed the ball on from a good position rather than shoot. We still see this today. Coming to think of it, I'd give Kris Boyd the reigns to see whether he would finally approach an aggressive attacking style (every now and then) instead of a de facto "6-man defensive line-up with the 'potential' to attack". Against dross like St. Johnstone, Dundee, or the like. I'm so sick and tired of this tactical formation, which has proven to be pointless in Scotland ... -

Oh, there is. Stop playing 4-2-3-1 and instead some proper line-up to defeat this Scottish trash. Which should have been the order of the day for about half a decade, if not more. -
