To be fair to Dodoo he hasn't been given a real chance of say 6-8 run of games. Flashes of class at Firhill and Pittodrie say he should have had more pitch time.

There is nothing wrong with talking up a signing at all and getting positive after how many years dealing with the likes of Kyle. Jeez no pleasing some!

And how have Scotland picked up since he came back. A 3-0 thumping at Wembley and a last minute winner by Chris Martin against Slovenia. Butcher

Looks a proper out and out centre forward to can score all sorts of goals. Shows there is a good chance in finding unearthed gem players out there. -
Terry Butcher on Broon. And this is why Im delighted Butcher never got a chance to manage Rangers. Brown and Scholes in the same sentence is embarrassing. Scholes a truly world class player...end of. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40171605

These games just don't raise the interest or excitement anymore at all. Probably by Saturday I will be looking forward to watching it a bit. But going back to last November at Wembley I didn't even bother switching it on until I woke up at half time as I expected a humping. With it being at Hampden there is a half chance it will be a close game. Going back to Euro 1996 I remember getting excited 6 months before when the draw was made. And the Euro 2000 qualifier had everyone looking forward to it at the time. It probably used to be the equivalent of Aston Villa v Man Utd but has dropped a lot and now is the equivalent of Swansea v Everton. In World levels its more like Notts Forest v Everton - A team who used to produce good players but now down many levels against a team who are the best of the rest but cant break into the elite. Looking at the England squad Hart in goal has an error in him all day long. their centre halfs are as poor as Ive seen - Cahill (decent), Stones (hasn't stepped up), Jones (Has stole Darren Anderton sick note title), Smalling (massively over rated) so they could be got at. In the middle of the park - Dier is OK but nothing special and that's all they have defensively. Jake Livermore would probably be the same level as what Scotland have now. The rest are all attack minded - Lingard (decent), Ox-Chamberlain (I rate highly), Lallana (over rated), Sterling (can win a match on this day), Dele Alli (the one to watch - bin him in the first minute and he could get himself sent off). Upfront is where they could do damage - not only do they have goalscorers in Kane, Rashford and Defoe, they are up against a shocking Scotland back line. I need to go back to the squad list to even remember who we have in defence. Where as in the past since I started watching Scotland we had worldly defenders in McLeish, Gough, Hendry, Weir......

Hampden could be downsized to a 35000 stadium for cup semi finals that don't include Rangers or Celtic plus Scotland matches against lower opposition. Juventus have shown going from a huge 60000 seater stadium to a 41000 has generated a mass atmosphere. Scotland games moved around the country like Spain do. But Ive always liked the idea of big games at Murrayfield.

Dalcio for some reason is the most exciting signing. About time we had an exciting winger again.

Struggling to keep up with the amount of players. Alves Pena Cardoso Dalcio Herrera Jack Dorrans And Daniel Candeias making it 8 players. The good thing is they are all PC signings and first choices and he wont accept less than 110% from any player meaning they should all perform. Under PLG we saw a lot of similar type signings who weren't exactly highly known but they didn't push themselves and weren't pushed by PLG plus ended up in a split camp. The good thing about Pedro is he wont accept a split camp or nothing less than maximum effort. As for Naismith - we are thinking about you but only hoping you don't sign. -
That has been a short break when you think about it. But needed if we are going to get through the Europa qualifiers.

Shocking. He was a good player. Just don't understand how this happens to people in the peak condition out of the blue. -

I think its only fair to let him go so he can play first team football. Seemed out of his depth a bit last season. Didn't know his natural position was left mid though. As for the business being done, its very reassuring and good to have a bit of excitement again even if they are unknown players. It could turn out excellent or a disaster but that's part of the ride. Fair play to the board for backing the manager and to get 6 first choice targets in is excellent work. I hope we add Dorrans for a safe signing. Alves is obviously the top signing but I like the sound of Pena, I think he could well be suited to the Scottish game as he comes across as 100mph. He could be similar to Windass in energy but have much more to his game. -
Thats interesting. Any ideas how would that work with Ashley still in the picture?

We just finished 39 points behind them. I said that at least has to be "closed by" 20 points - by our own doing of winning more games against the rest of the league. Even that makes 19 which would be too big a gap but I dont expect them to go unbeaten again so they wont accumulate the same number of points meaning the gap would reduce further.

Champions League Final: Juventus v Real Madrid
Gribz replied to Gribz's topic in General Football Chat
Didnt see a thumping like that coming. Ronaldo pushing himself into one of the all time greats. -
I think next season is about closing the gap by at least 20 points and cruising to second place. Its about beating the rest so we get that and this time 12 months we should be looking at going for the title. Of course anything more would be welcomed. As for the odds, an each way bet has to be easy money if the bookies are going for 7/2 for a top 2 finish. But I dont think they will offer that. St Johnstone are probably worth a bet for 3rd place. Have finished 4th 3 years in a row and I can see Aberdeen dropping with the players they are going to lose.

Champions League Final: Juventus v Real Madrid
Gribz replied to Gribz's topic in General Football Chat
The title of thread should be Juventus v Real Madrid. Juve are drawn as the home side. -
Should be a belter of a game, as its probably the current best two sides in the continent going at it. Barca are the best team on their day but these two have been the best domestically and in the CL this season. Although Bayern may disagree, they were the better side against Real in the quarter final until they wrongly went to 10 men but its all ifs and buts. Real have a chance for a 3rd CL win in 4 years which would be a great achievement. Pretty sure the majority of neutrals are wanting Juventus to win though. I certainly am and they were my tip since the group stages this season. Awesome in defence and awesome in attack, they have the perfect balance and this is their best team in 20 years even after losing big players like Pogba and Vidal. The best keeper of all time - Buffon deserves this medal to add to everything else. I can see it being 2-2 after extra time and Im going for Juve on Pens with Buffon being the hero.

Scott McDonald reveals how Helicopter Sunday caused rifts with his family

Yet Sutton accused Dunfermline of sitting off us in 2003 last game but its not OK for McDonald to do his job that year. The bitterness!! -

I read somewhere its Nani but didnt even read more as that is too unlikely. He is on 80k a week so that rules it out. -
Dundee appoint Neil McCann as full-time manager

Good luck to him, I guess if he wants to be a manage more than a pundit he will have to start somewhere but Id have stayed with Sky. He is a good co commentator for the Premier League channel. -

The only problem is getting selling players under contract with no offers. I guess we will need to bide time and see if we receive offers as paying up contracts isnt an option. If we have to take a hit on some players then so be it though. If we get an offer for Garner which is lower (to an extent) than what we paid we would be mad not take it. -
Couldnt blame him for the money move nor the players at this level. Its double and treble wages even 5 fold. Its not as if its Eden Hazard weighing up a footballing decision with 200k a week with Chelsea or 210k with Real Madrid - those figures are when it can come down to other decisions. But when a player is maybe on 2k a week and offered 6k or even 10k a week going to the Championship they arent going to refuse. McInnes could have a free swing at Sunderland, the fans their know the club needs sorted internally and have struggled with big name managers. I wouldnt mind seeing a few ore successful Scottish managers again down south.
