  1. I Dont get what you are saying. Its not about who is higher, its about who is better. They have had 4-5 seasons of playing best of the rest and are use to beating the Ross Countys and Kilmarnocks. We are still steadying on return yet over the 3 games against Aberdeen have clearly been the better side.
  2. More of an attacking winger. He has ability and Id put him in. We dont need 5 defenders in the majority of SPL games, Tav will already get back as a 4 when required.
  3. How and who will be interesting. Will we switch to back 3 something we havent traditionally done. I think id like to see something along the lines of the following (and i refuse to put Naismith in). Foderingham Wilson Alves New Signing Tavernier Rossiter Dorrans McKay Kranjcar Miller New Signing
  4. 6/10 on the weekend - better than average Midweek games Arsenal 4-0 Sunderland Man City 2-0 West Brom Southampton 1-0 Man Utd Leicester 1-1 Tottenham
  5. Cant really say I know much about Jack but the Alves signing would be a coup and a half. Ok he is 35 but thats the standard of player who we need to be have again.
  6. When asked to respond about it Aberdeen are better than Rangers, I like the way Pedro just said "i dont care". Its a cheap question by another attempted journalist. Anyone who has seen the 3 games this season can clearly see 11 v 11 we are the better side. Last outing at Pittodrie was a game of two halves, we dominated the first half and should have been 2 up. They had the better of the second half but then once we scored it was all one way traffic. The first game should have ended all square as they were given a free kick which never should have been to win the game. And we beat them at Ibrox. If Aberdeen were climbing through the divisions and got back to the top flight you can bet they wouldnt be a top 3 team at the first attempt.
  7. I'll give Conte credit for a few reasons. He was also a new manager in the league and much hype was made of Pep v Jose but those two havent been at the races while Conte has come in and ran away with it. He has bought minimal new players but those he did sign took the ground running. He has also had to keep players happy with rotating a few, like Willian and Pedro, the latter is like a new 40 million signing. The dressing room seems a happy place and thats a very difficult thing to do with big ego's. He has also got the best out of last seasons players who downed tools plus brought the likes of Moses in and made him a better player plus phased the likes of Terry out. The system is by far the biggest impressive thing. They got 10 points out of 12 in their first 4 games but didnt look convincing. They were lucky against West Ham in the opening game. But once he changed to the back 3 they took to it instantly and were unplayable for a while. That was a big gamble. Not having European football has helped keep players fit but arguably thats made rotating players more difficult. No doubt they will buy big in the summer for the CL, i can see an Italian defender and / or Van Dijk as Terry will be gone. They will add to the wide roles and in midfield and probably need 2 centre forwards with Costa leaving. The best signing Chelsea can do though is give Conte a new contract to prevent Inter Milan taking him who are now Chinese owned and will throw money at him.
  8. Protecting the 11th place team was exactly what I thought. But the previous SFL board should have been far stronger, they had the trump card in Rangers at the time and should have stood ground. With hindsight they would have been in even a stronger as Hibs at Hearts then came down. Hopefully the change you mentioned comes into play and makes the 11th place side face a proper play off.
  9. A good draw for Reading away to Fulham, with no away goals (they should be scrapped anyway) the tie is nicely poised. Fulham are certainly capable of winning away.
  10. Why is the play off system in the championship, league 1 and 2 different to the Premiership? Example Raith Rovers finished second bottom in the Championship and Peterhead second bottom in League one both went straight into the Semi final. As such Raith lost over two legs to Brechin who finished 4th in league 1 and are relegated. This is how it should be. But the team in who finished second bottom in the Premier just has one play off final against the winner of the ties from 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Championship. The team who finishes 11th in the premier should go straight into a play off semi against the team who finishes 4th in the Championship - have one rule across all divisions and make it proper semi finals.
  11. Rangers 1-0 Aberdeen Miller FGS
  12. Watched the last half hour of Lyon v Ajax last night, awesome game and end to end. This Ajax team just want to attack, Lyon could have leveled but Ajax were playing like they needed a goal also. They will give Man Utd a real game in the final. It would be great if they won it. Two legendary European Giants in the Europa Final giving this cup a bit of excitement - neither team has won the UEFA so a new winner will be named. Liverpool and the English media thought Liverpool had their name on the cup last season but Sevilla turned them over, hopefully Ajax do the same to Man Utd. Ajax have a 12 day rest after their final game this sunday but Man Utd have Spurs away, Southampton away and Palace at home in the next week.
  13. I think Chelsea will need to wait until Monday night under the Stamford Bridge lights to be crowned champs, I can see West Brom getting a point tonight. I cant believe Arsenal could sneak top 4. If they go to Stoke and win then West Ham do them a favour on Sunday its in their hands. Hull must be kicking themselves for losing to Sunderland last weekend. If they won that they were going to Palace to go level above them and Palace have to go to Old Trafford on the last day and would be favourites to go down but now Hull have to beat Palace and Spurs which I cant see. Friday Everton 2-0 Watford West Brom 1-1 Chelsea Saturday Man City 2-0 Leicester Bouremouth 1-1 Burnley Middlesbrough 1-1 Southampton Sunderland 1-2 Swansea Stoke 0-2 Arsenal Sunday Crystal Palace 3-1 Hull West Ham 1-1 Liverpool Tottenham 2-0 Man Utd
  14. Rangers 2-0 Hearts Miller FGS
  15. Well done Yoo-Vay, surely there year for the CL. Id love to see Atletico make the comeback of all comebacks tonight but cant see it. Although an early goal could make it interesting. Lets see if Griezmann is worth the mass wage Man Utd are willing to pay.
  16. Id rather give Hill another year than Berra but he would do no harm being added to the squad, could prove decent.
  17. Good to see Wneger finally getting one over Mourinho, hopefully he sticks around for another season and does the double over him next year now that the voodoo is gone. Arsenal have to go to Southampton in midweek and win for any chance again of CL. Im going for Southampton 0-1 Arsenal.
  18. Either club from Forest, Blackburn and Birmingham going down would have been good. I was actually hoping for bristol City to score in the last minute for some drama but not to be and its Blackburn. Play offs are going to be hard to pick. Logistically better for all clubs, Yorkshire derby and Reading to West london is a short hop. Fulham v Reading is a throw of the coin but I hope Fulham win that. Sheff Wed v Huddersfield, hoping Wednesday cruise through that, Huddersfield have switched off since confirming their place in the play offs so could be dangerous. The order I would like to see going up. Sheff Wed Fulham Huddersfield Reading
  19. I bet you are wishing you just went along yesterday now
  20. Im guessing Foderingham Tavernier Wilson Bater Beerman Holt Waghorn Windass Miller Dodoo Garner
  21. To play devils advocate what IF Murray did say here is 35 million. Im sure number of fans who would welcome that would be a large majority. But I also dont see it ever happening. As for Boyd his media work is worse than his all round game, like Pete - Ive no time for him.
  22. The other thing they could do is make both teams take their pens at the same time at either end of the ground. That would be interesting and challenging.
  23. I dont think Ive read anyone saying they want Lafferty back. Naismith is on the wind down. Putting his history aside he would only give us a good year tops.
  24. To overhaul numbers that big isnt just difficult but hugely costly. For every player that goes (sold or paid off) we would need to make a new signing (bosman plus wages or fee). And one issue is we couldnt possibly go into the season - Europa Qualifiers included - with a smaller squad than this season. Time isnt also on our side to do that in 4-5 weeks. Therefore Id probably guess Hodson, Kiernan, Halliday, Windass and Dodoo from your list will stay on for sure as squad players. Hill and Senderos will be let go due to age and form respectively and being out of contract. I think Hill maybe worth another year though to help Bates and Beerman. Crooks will probably go out on loan again at the very least. With MOH and Waghorn told they can go if a buyer is found. Garner is the interesting one as he cost plenty so I dont think he would be let go unless a good fee is offered which is unfortunate because I just dont see what he can offer at all. Kranjcar and Rossiter are arguably the two best talents in the squad but also likely to be the most frequent in the treatment room. Beerman has impressed - is he a potential starter therefore is there value in selling Wallace for some funds?
  25. Not too bad, 4/6 for Saturday and what matters is I won a nice bet with a draw double Burnley v WBA and Bournemouth v Stoke.
