  1. A good draw for Reading away to Fulham, with no away goals (they should be scrapped anyway) the tie is nicely poised. Fulham are certainly capable of winning away.
  2. Why is the play off system in the championship, league 1 and 2 different to the Premiership? Example Raith Rovers finished second bottom in the Championship and Peterhead second bottom in League one both went straight into the Semi final. As such Raith lost over two legs to Brechin who finished 4th in league 1 and are relegated. This is how it should be. But the team in who finished second bottom in the Premier just has one play off final against the winner of the ties from 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Championship. The team who finishes 11th in the premier should go straight into a play off semi against the team who finishes 4th in the Championship - have one rule across all divisions and make it proper semi finals.
  3. Rangers 1-0 Aberdeen Miller FGS
  4. Watched the last half hour of Lyon v Ajax last night, awesome game and end to end. This Ajax team just want to attack, Lyon could have leveled but Ajax were playing like they needed a goal also. They will give Man Utd a real game in the final. It would be great if they won it. Two legendary European Giants in the Europa Final giving this cup a bit of excitement - neither team has won the UEFA so a new winner will be named. Liverpool and the English media thought Liverpool had their name on the cup last season but Sevilla turned them over, hopefully Ajax do the same to Man Utd. Ajax have a 12 day rest after their final game this sunday but Man Utd have Spurs away, Southampton away and Palace at home in the next week.
  5. I think Chelsea will need to wait until Monday night under the Stamford Bridge lights to be crowned champs, I can see West Brom getting a point tonight. I cant believe Arsenal could sneak top 4. If they go to Stoke and win then West Ham do them a favour on Sunday its in their hands. Hull must be kicking themselves for losing to Sunderland last weekend. If they won that they were going to Palace to go level above them and Palace have to go to Old Trafford on the last day and would be favourites to go down but now Hull have to beat Palace and Spurs which I cant see. Friday Everton 2-0 Watford West Brom 1-1 Chelsea Saturday Man City 2-0 Leicester Bouremouth 1-1 Burnley Middlesbrough 1-1 Southampton Sunderland 1-2 Swansea Stoke 0-2 Arsenal Sunday Crystal Palace 3-1 Hull West Ham 1-1 Liverpool Tottenham 2-0 Man Utd
  6. Rangers 2-0 Hearts Miller FGS
  7. Well done Yoo-Vay, surely there year for the CL. Id love to see Atletico make the comeback of all comebacks tonight but cant see it. Although an early goal could make it interesting. Lets see if Griezmann is worth the mass wage Man Utd are willing to pay.
  8. Id rather give Hill another year than Berra but he would do no harm being added to the squad, could prove decent.
  9. Good to see Wneger finally getting one over Mourinho, hopefully he sticks around for another season and does the double over him next year now that the voodoo is gone. Arsenal have to go to Southampton in midweek and win for any chance again of CL. Im going for Southampton 0-1 Arsenal.
  10. Either club from Forest, Blackburn and Birmingham going down would have been good. I was actually hoping for bristol City to score in the last minute for some drama but not to be and its Blackburn. Play offs are going to be hard to pick. Logistically better for all clubs, Yorkshire derby and Reading to West london is a short hop. Fulham v Reading is a throw of the coin but I hope Fulham win that. Sheff Wed v Huddersfield, hoping Wednesday cruise through that, Huddersfield have switched off since confirming their place in the play offs so could be dangerous. The order I would like to see going up. Sheff Wed Fulham Huddersfield Reading
  11. I bet you are wishing you just went along yesterday now
  12. Im guessing Foderingham Tavernier Wilson Bater Beerman Holt Waghorn Windass Miller Dodoo Garner
  13. To play devils advocate what IF Murray did say here is 35 million. Im sure number of fans who would welcome that would be a large majority. But I also dont see it ever happening. As for Boyd his media work is worse than his all round game, like Pete - Ive no time for him.
  14. The other thing they could do is make both teams take their pens at the same time at either end of the ground. That would be interesting and challenging.
  15. I dont think Ive read anyone saying they want Lafferty back. Naismith is on the wind down. Putting his history aside he would only give us a good year tops.
  16. To overhaul numbers that big isnt just difficult but hugely costly. For every player that goes (sold or paid off) we would need to make a new signing (bosman plus wages or fee). And one issue is we couldnt possibly go into the season - Europa Qualifiers included - with a smaller squad than this season. Time isnt also on our side to do that in 4-5 weeks. Therefore Id probably guess Hodson, Kiernan, Halliday, Windass and Dodoo from your list will stay on for sure as squad players. Hill and Senderos will be let go due to age and form respectively and being out of contract. I think Hill maybe worth another year though to help Bates and Beerman. Crooks will probably go out on loan again at the very least. With MOH and Waghorn told they can go if a buyer is found. Garner is the interesting one as he cost plenty so I dont think he would be let go unless a good fee is offered which is unfortunate because I just dont see what he can offer at all. Kranjcar and Rossiter are arguably the two best talents in the squad but also likely to be the most frequent in the treatment room. Beerman has impressed - is he a potential starter therefore is there value in selling Wallace for some funds?
  17. Not too bad, 4/6 for Saturday and what matters is I won a nice bet with a draw double Burnley v WBA and Bournemouth v Stoke.
  18. Ive always wondered if anyone has actually done that - turn up to a game on the wrong day.
  19. Relegation battle this weekend between 3 big clubs - Birmingham, Forest and Blackburn. Fair play to Burton and Bristol City for beating the drop against the odds and leaving these 3 in it. Im actually not bothered who goes down. Forest go then a big of a smile for Bears towards Warburton and Weir in a way for exiting their ticket there. Blackburn have poor owners and to see a Premier League winner to drop to the 3rd tier would be big. Birmingham arent a easy club on the eye but after getting rid of Rowett when they were outside the play offs on goal difference is karma for them. Play offs decided only final positions to play for but I dont see any changes. Brighton going to Villa Park for the title but I can see them slipping up again as they havent won since being promoted - which is understandable but to throw away a 7 point lead isnt great. I can see them drawing which means Newcastle go up as Champs by beating Barnsley at St James'.
  20. Great performance from West Ham, didnt see that coming. Should have been 3-0. And it hands Chelsea the title.
  21. Im going for: Friday West Ham 0-2 Tottenham Saturday Man City 2-0 Crystal Palace Bournemouth 1-1 Stoke Burnley 1-1 West Brom Hull 2-0 Sunderland Leicester 2-0 Watford Swansea 1-1 Everton Sunday Liverpool 2-0 Southampton Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd Monday Chelsea 3-0 Middlesbrough
  22. I get the feeling Whittaker was easily misled by Naismith, not sure on others thoughts. Naismith was certainly the more vocal and seemed to have a speech prepared. 5 years on and the ghosts come back to haunt - I hope Pedro comes out and categorically states neither are of interest.
  23. Agree RE Hyndman with Der Berliner, Hyndman could exile in this league for another year with better players. I actually thought Toral would be the better signing but its been Hyndman. Eddie Howe says he wont release him again but I would take that with a pinch of salt. Thats 2 years in a row we have had a key loan member going back and their career could go downhill. Ball from Spurs was an unsung hero last season and has ended up at Rotherham. OK Spurs second string are as good as there is in the UK but I thought he would at least get a decent loan or a better club. Hyndman could maybe take note although he has a better chance of making things at Bournemouth than Ball had at Spurs. But Im sure Pedro has his own list of targets. The papers just need stories to print at the moment.
  24. He didnt regret his comments when getting 50k a week at Everton and Norwich, only now when he comes back a bit closer to home. Any statement would be false just to get a contract. Ive never been one to hold grudge and always thought people who wouldnt consider former Celtic players playing for Rangers were so far backwards, but Naismith crossed a line with his arrogance yet he sat and took a handsome wage while being in the treatment room for a year. Other players like Edu and Davis showed dignity - they were in the exact same boat as Naismith yet they didnt need to do an interview. He is one player who doesnt deserve to be in a Rangers shirt again especially to pick up a retirement wage. After the bumpy period it wouldnt be long before he would start to show his cockiness again. Playing wise - yes as a player he would improve us but still id rather take a punt on a new face.
  25. I'll be having a flutter on them in the final. I think Conte will be in for a player or two in the summer.
