  1. Kranjcar would be ahead of Pena as it stands though. Pena needs to burst on and show what he can do. Kranjcar is pulling in MOTM performances every game and couldnt be dropped. There is an argument for them both then just one striker.
  2. Only Alves and Kranjcar would be shockers going out. Foderingham, Wallace and Miller may raise an eyebrow with some but I wouldnt be surprised at all depending on the reason.
  3. If it was 1-1 then they would very much up against it but they have the advantage if they score. How sweet would it be if they fell at this hurdle.
  4. If Pedro doesn't work out and is gone after 6 games of the season due to a poor start the new manager is going to need players who didn't come simply for PC - that's where the Dorrans and Jack signings are good plus probably Alves is experienced enough to accept footballing decisions. That's the only avenue I can go down for Naismith being a Rangers player again however I don't want to see him signing. If it happens it happens and I wont drop to being a Boo-boy but Id hardly be getting his name on the back of my shirt.
  5. Daniel Levy says the current spending is unsustainable and I agree. There could be some car crashes ahead. The worlds economy is not in a good shape yet clubs are just throwing multi millions around. 160m for Mbappe is crazy, Arsenal could have got him for 500k a year ago.
  6. Yes Id be up for this. Suggest we need a minimum of 6 posters to get a Gersnet League created.
  7. Javier Hernandez completes move to West Ham for 16m. At last a good transfer fee. Considering the money being splashed around 16m is a snip. Im happy with West Hams business this summer. They are buying quality rather than quantity. Last year the signings were awful and a few of them still need to move out. But Hart, Zabaletta, Arnautavic and Hernandez are all experienced and first teamers. Just need a centre midfielder (Wilshire would do) and the squad is looking good.
  8. Older players calling PC a fraud while the new ones don't - that might cause a split.
  9. Watford have signed two of Englands best young midfielders in Chalobah from Chelsea and Hughes from Derby. And now they have Marco Silva in charge they could be a bit more attractive on the eye. But with two Portuguese managers at the helm I suspect this is purely a run out for extra fitness for both squads. So this is the sort of bounce game I wont care much about unless we were thrashed.
  10. I think Batshuayi may be key to Chelsea this season, he started to score at the end of last season and may come good after a 1 season settling in. He played well against Arsenal on Saturday in the friendly. Morata doesn't seem like the Chelsea type of striker in the way Drogba and Costa are. Agree about Lukaku, over priced for that fee. Not sure if he will be able to raise his game to challenge for a title or in the CL. Rashford must be wondering what he has to do.
  11. I agree with that - and with some bears I don't think there is hatred towards Naismith. I think its we just don't want to see him being allowed to pull the Gers shirt on again as he doesn't deserve to.
  12. Not sure about Mclean. But if Hearts don't accept 600k for Walker we can just sign him on a pre contract in 6 months time. Just make sure the player knows we want him and he gets a free move and bigger signing on fee himself rather than pay Hearts.
  13. Thats a fine result, just when I was expected to read about a bit of a cuffing we manage a 1-1 and going by the posts it seems a decent performance. At least we managed to hit the net albeit not from open play which has to be what we need to work on and I think that will come with more gelling and match time plus a little shuffling around in personnel. Watford friendly in midweek before Sheff Wed - which should really become an annual fixture.
  14. Alves is obviously a winner and goes into the squad with high stature. He just looks like a leader. I just hope there is harmony in the dressing room and this talk of split camps gets sorted out.
  15. About the Foderingham one, I would just worry about Alnwick's lact of first team football if he was promoted to number 1 straight away. Who else could we bring in? I saw someone posing McGregor but he has lost his form. In saying that so had Gordon prior to training with McCoists team so McGregor may be a possible option. Keepers are massively important and we have been blessed with some cracking keepers over the years, we need a solid long term number 1 again.
  16. Looks like Sanchez is on the way to PSG. If Arsenal can get 50m for him they should take it straight away and get Lemar from Monaco. Sanchez would be a bad apple in the dressing room next season if he stays plus Arsenal have had the best out of him. But Ox-Chamberlain is supposed to be in talks with Chelsea, id be keeping him if I was Wenger.
  17. The fact these countries seasons are up and running by the time qualifiers come around is an advantage but its not the full reason. I always liked the festive period for football but now more so from the English premier league as I get the coverage of that. One issue is the winter can hit over 3 months in Scotland so games could still be frosted off in March - however Im sure that could be the same for Scandinavian countries and even more so for the Baltic teams. Its the set up and those running the game in Scotland which assists of the poor product which is going downhill fast. Saying that I would prefer to give it a try for say 3 seasons and then if it doesnt work we switch it back, its not like something those running the game could undo if it didnt work.
  18. That's just ignorance. Was he being starved, not paid and not able to buy new shoes!!
  19. Newcastle take Murphy from Norwich for 12m. Cant say Ive heard of him. Szczesny leaves Arsenal to join Juventus for 10m. That could be the first of a clear out at Emirates.
  20. This is interesting because Id like to see the numbers (who's our new number guru again on here? ) from the PLG era when it was Ferguson and Boyd causing the split. I was against that at the time but it wasnt so popular to do so IIRC. Very much different situations though, pretty sure My Baw and Co were against the change of diet and double training sessions whereas this split is down to footballing reasons.
  21. Just watching the premier league channel at the moment, Liverpool v Palace live from Hong Kong. The assistant Ref holding the subs board up is the most beautiful girl you will see in football. Im glad its a friendly with 22 changes so the camera pans onto her.
  22. Still no thanks. Purely on a footballing sense 3 years ago would have been a good addition but not now. Other reasons have been well documented.
  23. I'll know by Friday mate. Currently is a yes Im over that dates but possibility of moving to Sept. Im due over Sept for work whereas August was a holiday trip but I dont fancy going twice so may move to one trip only.
  24. I dont know why but there is a part of me wanting to see PC turn this around and be a success, I guess that change doesnt happen over night. But even during transition we should have enough in the tank to beat Progres. But Im mostly thinking should we just cut our losses now. The additionally worry to that is if the Mexican and Portuguese players downed tools and it was PC who probably got them over the line. Alves is professional enough to accept it but the others perhaps wouldnt. This is where Dorrans, Jack and probably Morelos differ.
  25. Chris Burke has just joined Kilmarnock also for a year. Anymore to go there?? Ness, McCormack, Wylde, Hutton??
