Not sure whats going on at Wolves. The manager got a new manager bounce in the first few games but since then have been poor. Plus he is very outspoken - criticising 2 players - Cunha for body language. But for Lemina it was because he didnt want to play, but you would expect both those things to remain internal. Arsenal could turn up and give them a hiding this afternoon.

What a game at Bournemouth today, who'd have thought that at the start of the season. Bournemouth 1-1 Nottingham Forest Brighton 1-0 Everton Liverpool 5-0 Ipswich Southampton 0-4 Newcastle Wolves 0-2 Arsenal Man City 1-2 Chelsea Crystal Palace 2-1 Brentford Tottenham 2-0 Leicester Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham Fulham 2-0 Man Utd

Hull go to Bramall Lane and thump the Blades. Watched the second half and it was a good performance. Although I dislike Sheff Utd they have a perfectly good goal chopped off for offside at 1-0, it looked level. Sunderland at home to Plymouth today with a chance to close the gap (nightmare journey for the away fans - doesnt get further away than that in the league). Then Burnley v Leeds on Monday night.

Went Tav also, thought he wound the years back and used his experience very well.

Match Thread [FT] Manchester United 2 - 1 Rangers (Dessers 88)

Have to say I think that would be Dessers best goal I can remember, a proper No.9 goal. He held off Maguire easily, his touch was superb then he smashed it in the corner. I think there has been harsh comments about Butland, I really like him, he is a top shot stopper which is the first thing keepers should be doing. He isnt in the same league as Goram, Klos or McGregor but certainly in the next bracket. I think he can lack a bit of confidence sometimes but it wasnt long ago he was England's No.2 to Pickford at the 2018 World Cup. -

That hurt at the end, its bad enough when teams like that score in injury time against anyone but after that superb Dessers finish I thought we'd got the draw I thought we would get. You always have to feel for keepers, they dont get minor errors, Butlands punch was just a split second mis timed. Was there about 800M difference between those teams? Considering we was also a depleted team! The minimum was to make a knock out tie and we have that. -

Does anyone know what our allocation is? -
Man City in a bit of trouble, they have to beat Brugge to make it to the play off round. Cracking result for Feyenoord over Bayern, I thought that was an interesting game. As it stands in the table Bayern would be playing either Juventus or Real Madrid in the knock out round. This format has been genius by UEFA, no more meaningless rounds of matches in the group stages.

For me its slight optimism to get a draw because how bad Man Utd have been especially at home - Southampton are a Championship side and played them off the park. And then how we keep managing to pull off good performances in Europe. -

Yeah obviously thats what they lean towards but mass outsiders would have a draw minimum 6/1 with the away at least 10/1. -
Rashford wont be going there then! I had a look at the German table, Dortmund are miles off it.

Bookies dont often get it wrong and draws in most games are never shorter than 2/1, usually around 12/5 so the price on this means the bookies can see this being a possible draw. -
Villa with a costly defeat, they still sit in the auto qualification places until tonight. It means their home match against Celtic on the last day will be very meaningful. What a scoreline Benfica 4-5 Barcelona. UEFA dont get much right but this CL format is by far their best decision in a long time.

Casemiro was a Rolls Royce world class midfielder at Real Madrid - I give you that but his legs have gone. Erikson at Spurs bordered World Class but again is almost finished. Martinez and De Ligt are good but not WC for me. I really like Mainoo but is still raw. Yet the key point is none of them can perform in this 3-4-3 the manager plays. You have a point about them being on a different stratosphere compared to what we play week in week out but not so much of what we faced in Europe. -

I dont think they have any world class players. Fernandes is their best but I wouldnt say he is world class. Diallo is on fire and Mainoo is alright but other than that they are poor. The defenders arent great and the keeper has a mistake in him every game. They will start as favourites but for us its the cliché of playing the game and not the occasion...play the team in front of us and not the name. -

Man Utd 1-1 Rangers FGS Igamane EDIT - Totally forgot Hagi wasnt in the Euro squad. -
Man City splashing the cash, they have signed two defenders after giving Haaland that deal. 30M for Reis (defender) from Sao Paolo. And an Uzbekistan defender from Lens for 33.6M. Meanwhile Man Utd have slashed the salaries of club ambassadors - Bryan Robson, Gary Pallister, Denis Irwin and Andy Cole.
-
Thought I would get this one going for the match on Thursday. First and foremost this is nothing like the Man Utd teams we have played in Europe in the past - they are a really poor with a system not suited to their players which the manager says he wont change. If we apply the same approach as we did against Celtic and Tottenham then it could be there for the taking.

Champions League returns tonight and tomorrow. 2 games to go with masses to play for. Its very difficult to work out with a huge league table but it looks like there could be some big names in the knock out round, which is great to see - just hope there is no hot and cold balls when it comes to the draw. PSG v Man City is game of the week - both need to win. Looking at the table another good game is Feyenoord V Bayern Munich.
-
Chelsea with first win in about 5 or 6 games to go 4th again. Id rather see them stay there than City.
-
Unfortunately I dont think so, Liverpool are just a bit far ahead. Top 4 for them would be almost as good as Leicester because there are 3 top teams around them in the table - and City are starting to come back. At the other end of the table Man Utd and Tottenham are in a total mess. Amorin coming out with strong comments which is either him regretting taking the job or saying to the board he needs 11 new players. Spurs - every manager they get ends up in tears.

Im channel hopping between the snooker and the footy matches, the snooker is actually the most entertaining. This has to be Ange last game, the wolves will be out now, Everton will be 4 points behind them after this game. Forest thumping Southampton, they go level with Arsenal on 44 pts. Remarkable.

Just age, he has lost a yard of pace for sure. Also Arsenal style doesnt quite suit him, he was quite good at Liverpool and Man City. Read this morning Ali was about to join Como who are managed by Fabregas. Sterling isnt quite in Ali mould, nor is he like Lingard and Rashford who are more interested in social media than football yet all these players had a talent.
