Yup he ran down the touchline and went straight to the dressing rooms and the Keith fans in the main stand stood an applauded him. I remember the big conga by the Gers fans in the Richard Donald stand during the match. I think Fraserburgh could have moved this one to Pittordrie its a good pay day for small clubs. Queens Park must be set up for a decade after playing us at home at Hampden getting 30000 a few times.

With Brexit its pre-planned to try derail the exit however our situation is taking way to long and its looking like the Everton situation. Obviously no preference No.1 was made. The thought of Ferguson even being McInnes No.2 or 3 is depressing, will he throw the toys out the pram if he doesnt get to make decisions. May aswell bring Lee McCulloch also. I cant believe there isnt better candidates, there is some very good managers down south that need unearthed. Look at what the Sheff Utd and Bristol City managers have done. We need a strong pressence though.
-
Still not McInnes for me. Although I'll certainly back him. I liked him as a player, him and Charlie Miller were good squad players in the 90s. But I still cant see why we are not aiming higher. We certainly need someone with European experience IMO. McInnes in the Europa with Aberdeen has been poor. A vital step in our recovery to the top is competing in Europe and that means the Europa group stages first and we need someone who has guided teams through some games before. I do like McInnes, good guy and has done well at Aberdeen in the league but we are a different level. If / when he does get the gig his backroom will be key. I dont even know who his No.2 at Aberdeen is.

Maybe they are allowed back to Nandos Have to say I thought we'd get a point only before play today but to beat them twice in 4 days in reminisce of the good days, couldnt happen against a better team. It does say more about McInnes though but I hope Im wrong. That Hamilton and Dundee games are at the back of my mind now, should have been bankers and we'd be on 36 pts. However had Murty won them he'd be touted for the job.

How on earth have Arsenal lost this. Poor defending early on but since then there seemed to be 5 keepers in goal for man utd. Two pens not given. Always said Arsenal are better with 4 at the back, as soon as Mustafi went off they looked a different animal. Pogba a disgrace, almost a career ending stamp - glad he is out the Manc derby. Hope City stuff them.

Former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha confirmed as new Cruz Azul manager
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
He gets a job before we appoint his replacement!! Good luck to him, enjoyed his talks but quite possibly the most bizarre Ranger of all time. -
1994-96 adidas was the best strip, its got much hint of that but these cycling strips these days dont look as good.

Arsenal 1-3 De Gea

Only problem there is, he was actually meaning stoned on the wacky stuff

What type of Rangers related do you mean? I have always like just seeing the brick colours upon arriving. I wouldnt want to cheapen that, its class from the offset with Rangers FC and the flags flying. I dont agree with the players pictures etc on the outside of the stadium - that would look better internally. Keep the unique class look outside. As for them them in the corner, nah if thats the case we get that crap corner at Parkhead. If anything we should get our away allocation upped a bit as it should go by percentage. Imagine not having 7500 bears at Parkhead when we won the league there in 99?

Doesnt look entirely difficult to predict with no real big clashes in the group stages. Belgium v England and Portugal v Spain but both should go through. Doesnt look right without Italy. Group A: Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay Group B: Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran Group C: France, Australia, Peru, Denmark Group D: Argentina, Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria Group E: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia Group F: Germany, Sweden, Mexico, South Korea Group G: Belgium, Panama, Tunisia, England Group H: Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan England media already plotting their route through, this is kills them. They shouldnt be looking further than the first game. Groups B, D, E and F throw up some tough calls bar the top seeds. Germany, France and Argentina are the favorites for me. Followed by Brazil - Just because Neymar went for silly money and they qualified well (after 2014 they had to) all of a sudden they are up their. Argentina had horrendous qualifiers but if Messi, Aguero, Di Maria, Dyabla and Higuian (sp) are all fit then they will take some stopping. Outsiders Uruguay and Belgium.

Oddschecker has slashed it to as low as 1/25. Im not so sure for some reason. It will have an impact on the game which means a Pittodrie away day could be enjoyable once again (i had many of them growing up). We went there last season and won 3-0 so no reason why we cant win again. It just makes the Hamilton and Dundee results all the more frustrating, 3 points from one of those would be in a much better league position. Celtic can remain undefeated but they can have all the draws in the world like Motherwell they like, 2 dropped from them is big.

I would take into consideration in that time he hasnt had to play Rangers, nor even Hibs, Hearts and Dundee Utd every year in that time for the full time in charge. Its a percentage against Ross County, Kilmarnock etc and Aberdeen who are the so called Liverpool of Scotland should be ahead of the lower sides every year considering. Plus their European qualification games have not went well at all, typical Scottish mindset of glorious failure - that concerns me. I would much prefer a winning mentality. Speaking of of the Scottish / British experience I wonder if Sir Alex fancies coming home
-
Probably right there else he would be needing protection tomorrow. But if this is the case a few clues will be in Aberdeens performance tomorrow. Im not fully against it being McInnes but think we should be aiming higher.
-
Advocaat over McInnes. He's available plus has the British / Scottish experience. However no way will it be Advocaat, King said its a decision they are getting right for the next 3 years, Advocaat would be a short term until the end of the season.
-
The club would obviously need to speak to McInnes first before appointing him in the way Sunderland did. But Im struggling to believe there isnt a more attractive or better option out there.
-
But so do you and I. I did hear keepers are a different breed, think it was John Budgie Burridge who said it - himself is a bit off his rocker. He used to be our Premier League TV pundit and he was funny but you wouldnt want him managing your team.
-
A good No.2 or coach. It would be foolish to turn down someone with his experience and contacts.
-
All very well Gav, thanks and hope you are also bud. Long time! I think FdB would be more suited to a club like us, the Palace fit just didnt look right from day 1. Its kind of ruined his stock. It was actually the Palace board who requested they changed their style and played a more continental way hence why Pardew was sacked. Not sure how it was possible FdB could turn a poor group into a passing side in such a short space of time, his only two decent players Cabeye and Zaha were injured. I think he would fit into the Rangers structure long term however I do think we need an injection of confidence right now like an Allardyce / Big Eck mentality type. I wouldnt say no to Arry Redknapp to fill the gig until the end of the season until we unearth our next proper manager - because we cant start chopping and changing. Im not so sure on Allardyce though, he seems to think he is a bit invincible all of a sudden and I dont think he will do that well with Everton (where he looks to be going). I see your line of thought though and in that case the person Id like is Warnock. He isnt everyones cup of tea but what an impact manager he is and has an incredible record in the Championship. He is also a Gers fan. I heard Ray Wilkins interview, he would be good in the set up - probably as a No.2.
-
Why is McLeish the sudden leader? He cant get a job in england after Egypt, Belguim, Villa and Forest....why would that equate to be all of a sudden the Rangers job. He left a long time ago. He is an impact manager. Yet he would probably bring in McCulloch and my Baw as assistants. They will kill most of the squad. Why is Michael Laudrup or Frank de Boer not being pursued. The later was never a match for a dog eat dog team like Palace and he was stupid to go there. Laudrup or De Boer for me.
-
Aye, like all employers we start to call around. What arrogance. "They can call me". While nobody else in Europe does. If he really wants it then show it and go apply. "Call me". And thats why you wont get the job Eck.
-
Just because Pedro has followed PLG out the door sharpish I hope this doesnt mean we wont look to the continent again. Like GS said, Warnock would be ideal short term but he wont leave Cardiff while they are riding high. Again from down south Redknapp would be a good shot in the arm for 6 months until the end of the season and give the board time to fully target the right manager. He gets the simple things right and creates a good environment. He succeeds when he has one of the stronger squads around (which we obviously do in the league). Im not sure about Allardyce but he would certainly relish going up against Celtic and set us up solid so it may work. I wouldnt say no. Someone just beat me to mention Alan Pardew a few posts ago - Available, A strong personality and has done well throughout his career. Took Newcastle to 5th, took West Ham up and to a FA cup final. Started excellent with Palace and actually think they got rid too soon. I think he would be a very appealing option. From the continent M Laudrup (And perhaps B as no.2) would be high on my preference list. As would Gio if he fancies it. I still think F De Boer has something to offer. Two disasters at Inter and Palace but both times he wasnt given a chance to install his style of football. The Rangers set up is far more like Ajax' than both those clubs and would suit him. I said at the time Palace were a bad choice for him with an ugly style of football in a tight old ground and it wasnt a match. Id disregard what he did there and welcome him at Ibrox. Other runners and riders: Alex Neil - a very good up and coming manager. Moyes - His stock has gone but he does have something to prove. McLeish - Would come in and turn things around short term but would fizzle out. McInnes - Jury still out, he has done very well for Aberdeen but only been the best of the rest while not had a strong tests from Rangers plus Hearts, Hibs and Dundee Utd during that time. Again names like Davies being linked is a no no with Barry Ferguson pitching his name (probably fancying the No.2 role).
-
Bar Allardyce if the SFA go down the homegrown route then I think their list will be Big Eck, Lambert, Moyes and the already employed Malky Mckay. But likes of Alex Neil should be looked at. Did great with Norwich and has started well with Preston. IMO Id take Big Eck back, I think he is ideal for international management. Lambert is a good manager but had a few set backs, still think he is a club manager. Moyes stock is very low at the moment. McKay I think is a possible shoe in with current role and an easy appointment.

It was the home games against Lithuania and England. Lithuania at home should be a banker especially when knowing Malta points will be removed for play off tally. Yet to get infront against England at home then not defend properly was always going to be the costly goal. Strachan has made improvements during the campaign but still only got 8/11 selections right recently. He should give someone else a go. Sam Allardyce practically put himself forward for the job last month and he should be contacted straight away. Englands loss could be our gain. Id have no issues with an Englishman in charge although Im sure it wouldnt go down well with some tartans who havent reached the 21st century yet.

With hindsight he has probably done what Spurs did a few years ago when they sold Bale and bought a load of players and hasnt fit them in. At the time I said Everton was a sideways step from Southampton - Southampton have potential and a great set up. Everton are just a club steep in old history yet done nothing for 20-30 years. They are unlucky with no Coleman and Bolasie on the right hand side, that would improve any team but they should have signed a Carroll, Sturridge, Hernandez, Giroud or someone to grab them a goal.
