  1. Czech Rep right out to 66's with that defeat, that could be worth a punt. France at 25/1 could be worth a fiver, you never know, they could burst into life if they get into the knockouts, and the Portuguese dont look a bad outside bet. But you got to fancy the Argy's at 3/1, if your a heavy punter then 50 quid plus would be worth it.
  2. Brazil 11/4 Argentina 3/1 England 11/2 Germany 7/1 Italy 10/1 Spain 10/1 Holland 12/1 Portugal 22/1 France 25/1 Sweden 40/1 Czech Republic 66/1 Ghana 66/1 Mexico 66/1 Australia 80/1 Ecuador 80/1 Switzerland 80/1 Republic of Korea 100/1 Ukraine 100/1 Croatia 125/1 Tunisia 350/1 Japan 500/1 Saudi Arabia 1000/1 Angola 1500/1 Togo 2000/1 Trinidad and Tobago 2500/1
  3. We have around 6 players in so far and am I right in saying only 4 are out? Waterreus, Soti, Rae and Lovenkrands?? Whats happening with the likes of Bernard, Ricksen, Novo, FanFan, Andrews etc whom we all thought were leaving? Maybe they left when i was away but i havent heard of them leaving. It seems PLG whats to keep the likes of Hemdani, Ricksen, Namouchi and a few others to give them a chance. This is what i wanted at the end of last season as i feel PLG will get much more out of them than McLeish did. Im glad the first thing PLG has done is bring in midfielders, everyone knew thats the position we were crying out for new faces. Now we seem to have a good looking list of real midfielders and with 1 or 2 more on there way: Ferguson Buffel Sionko Hemdani G Rae Burke Namouchi Clement?
  4. Id almost forgotten about Buffel. Im glad PLG is on board with him as I think Buffel could be our most important player next year. I think PLG will use him in his best position and it will pay off. McLeish wasted him on the wings and didnt give him support through the middle. Roll on the new season.
  5. Rangers star Thomas Buffel would relish the opportunity to join forces with former team-mate Johan Elmander again. The Swedish World Cup striker, who played with Buffel at Feyenoord, has been linked with a move to Ibrox. And Buffel told the Mail on Sunday: "Johan is very fast, quite powerful and a big lad who can be dangerous. "Of course, everyone has to prove themselves in another team and another competition, but I think he has the ability to play for Rangers." Elmander, 26, has scored seven goals for Sweden in 19 appearances and made his World Cup debut as a substitute against Paraguay on Thursday. He is currently with Danish side Brondby but Buffel has good memories of the forward from his time in Dutch football. "I remember that, when I trained with him at Feyenoord, we were quite a good couple," he added. "I played a little behind him mostly and we actually had a good partnership. "You can always use a player with pace and an eye for goal."
  6. Brazil havent been that great and i dont fancy them to win it this year. They are a bit like france in that there reputations have been bigger than there players. They are another team who need to change there formation.
  7. I think they will sneak through on goal difference then after that who knows they could burst into life. I read a good article yesterday that the world cup can be like 2 tournaments - the group stages then the knockouts. When the knockouts start its like a cup final and a different game altogether.
  8. Lost 70 quid yesterday so not touching the coupon today especially when the games are shite.
  9. Im an excited Bear again for the first time in years about PLG reign. As for 7am sessions, as a fan you think yeah great idea, but if your a player youd be like "oh know"
  10. Thats joke of the day!! You must have some electricity bill Gersfem, your permanently on here and your wee fellow is on the X box. What do the kids do??
  11. Agreed that its Argentina and Spain the only 2 now to be impressive and we will see how well Spain do in there next game. It will be interesting to see if Brazil can spark into life tonight against the Aussies. Personally i hope they do and put on a show coz im watching the game in my local which is an aussie bar and i could be done with a bit of banter
  12. I think they have been doing ok, every booking ive seen has been merited IMO but im not watching the late games.
  13. Was this the "talk to yourself" thread? Geo had a few conversations with himself, then Danny did it A good fighting performance from the yanks and it blows the group wide open. I can see either Italy or the Czechs being knocked out now as Ghana could beat the US or even nick a draw and go through
  14. As Gav says a coupon buster, i didnt see this result coming at all.
  15. It looks more like a mat than a picture
  16. Fookin 70 quid down the drain
  17. We pronounce it Mee-kyle-a-chenko but in russia its Meek-hyle-a-shenko. But i think Miko is easier Miko Miko Miko Miko.........
  18. Bastard I had 3-0 Portugal on and it should of been. Deco's goal was a cracker and Ronaldo was shit hot!
  19. Anyone just see the hand over of the penants? Iran handed over a giant picture instead
  20. Portugal v Iran Czechs v Ghana Italy v USA A portugal, italy and czech treble for me. Also going to have a bet on Czechs half time / full time at 11/10, good odds.

    Colshy stays!!
  22. He doesnt look like a keeper or a footballer at all does he!! He'd pass for a waiter in a french cafe
  23. 60,000 - 65,000
  24. Yesterday was the best day of the WC so far. Argentina was outstanding to watch and the Holland v IC match was very enjoyable. I didnt stay up for the Meckeeko v Angola match, but 2 great games out of 3 is good. Argentina were pretty impressive in there first game but yesterday produced one of the best WC displays ever against a more than decent side. Brazil, france and England are the big boys that havent got out of the starting blocks yet. Brazil will come good, no doubt about that, but England need a manager with a back bone for them to have a chance. Lennon and Rooney must start for them to click and be dangerous. As for France they could struggle but i wouldnt bet against them. A lot more will be unfolded over next 2 days as the 2 group games are completed then in the 2nd round it really starts.
  25. I think we need to get behind Letizi straight away, ok he isnt anybodys choice of signing but the last thing he needs is low confidence because the ibrox support dont fancy him for a keeper. He surely cant be that bad a keeper if he has been No.1 at PSG for 6 years. Welcome aboard. Lets get Clement signed up and add a striker il be very happy with the purchases Le Guen has made.
