It was 4-1 Italy when they met earlier this year Colshy There has been a bit of banter between the 2 with the Germans having a go at the Italians so they will be fired up. Its a tough one to call and probably as tough a game in the hole tournament to call a winner. Id like to see a classic with one winning it in normal play rather than penalties, coz if a team goes through a few times on pens they arent convincing world champs. I back Germany to win the WC but have a sneaky feeling for Italy tonight Germany 1-2 Italy

Bizarre move from Hughes especially when they did so well last season. Youd think they would have went for somone a little more higher profile than a guy how has miserably failed at 3 or 4 clubs in a short space of time.

http://msnsport.skysports.com/worldcup/article.aspx?hlid=400189&CPID=4&clid=359&lid=4161&title=Ronaldo:+No+Rooney+apology I agree with Ronaldo on this one. Neville and Ferdinand didnt have a problem with him it was just Rooney being hot headed and looking for someone to blame other that himself so he started on Ronaldo. I bet Sir Awex is loving this!!! He's kick both there asses if they start in training.

http://msnsport.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=400187&CPID=219&clid=&lid=2&title=Fresh+delays+for+Wembley What is going on with this stadium, its a farce! How come Emirates stadium just a few miles away is up and ready with no problems. Wembley will need to be stripped down and started again

Agreed Juff we wont get carried away, but holy shit its exciting and promising. PLG must of turned up and thought to himself "what the hell was going on here last year - did mcleish have any kind of clue how to use this resources"

Yeah your spot on Craig, humidity is a killer, its always 100% humidity here and a nightmare, you just walk down the road even in the rain and you sweat like a rapist. Before xmas last year i trained every day for 4 weeks before going home and it didnt feel like i was getting fit at all, i was struggling with every run i went on, but when i got back to the UK i went for a run and i was super fit. The guys will come back from south africa in great condition. When your in a high humidity place your body automatically bloats a bit just like when your feet swell on a plane, but when you get back to the normal climate your used to you reduce again and your lean etc

Shearer is an arrogant cock and a bully, thats why he will ruled the newcastle dressing room even ahead of Souness. He text Bellamy last year and said if he ever turns up at st james pk again he would smash his face in. Only thing is Shearer can dish it out but cant take it back in return i.e. when Roy Keane squared up against him he backed off. - Fanny Shearer!!

If Ronaldo stays at man utd the rooney thing will blow over and they will be mates again. If someone stood on my team mate id be fuckin telling the ref to send him off aswell - dangerous play and there is no excuses for Rooney - he cost his side with his aggressiveness. If i was Fergie id snap at the 20 odd million for him though and buy a replacement for the middle of the park. Even get a swap deal with Beckham to return.

Yeah thats a point pete, the ball was like a bowling ball in them days

Ladbrokes Craig. Henry at 12/1.
-
Cheers for the info guys! I'll just wait and see will i?

I thought about Neville but they will look at Terry for the long term and he;s younger. Becks is still playing on coz he wants to get to 100 caps.
-
Bold decision from Beckham and probably the right one. I actually think with the pressure off him he could do a better job just playing football now. But it could also see him losing his regular place. Contenders for next captain Colshy?? Terry Ferdinand Gerrard I prefer a captain to be a defender so would give it to Terry but he was a shadow of the Terry we saw in the EPL in the last 2 years. Gerrard would be an equally good captain.

All the games from now on are at 3am for me! Nightmare!
-
Beakenbauer and Cruyff would be the next 2 in the all time 5 but not Matthaus, he'd be top 10 though. Agree with Craig, Zidane can turn it on and produce that little bit extra. 1) Maradona 2) Pele 3) Zidane 4) Cruyff 5) Beckenbauer

Ive got money on Germany now, but just want the best team to win it. Italy v Germany is going to be a cracker. And id like to see France in the final so its an attractive match but Scolari is a winner so its open! But France will win
-
What happens if the top scorers at the WC are joint? Do the bookies still pay out? I.e. If Klose and Henry both finish with 5 goals and Ive Henry on.
-
Just watched the Brazil v France re-run and have to say Zidane played out his skin! IMO he's definatly in the top 5 all time best players and maybe comes 3rd behind Maradona and Pele.
-
Germany 7/4 France 7/4 Italy 3/1 Portugal 6/1 Italy isnt a bad bet! I backed Germany on friday before the Argentina game, but i fancy the French to go on and win it. Portugal got a lot of stick from the english media for not playing good football, thats a bit rich coming from them. I think Portugal are a good footballing side but they missed Deco against England. Im going for a Germany v France final.
-
I think England will be better with McLaren if he gets the players respects (coz he was a hit or a mis appointment). I dont think he will be as negative as Sven and wont be afraid to make changes or play players like Lennon. If he gets the right staff (Shearer / Venebles) then i cant not seeing them do well.
-
I had a sneaky feeling about France before the WC started. How can anyone write Thuram, Zidane, Vieira and Henry off?
-
Im not surprised with France winning at all, they have been improving every game. They arguably still have the best midfield in the world despite it ageing but they should they can still rise to the occasion. I fancy them to get into the final.
-
Im ashamed of you Holly!!! :D Rooooooooooooooney!!!!!!!
-
Agreed Craig, they just were not positive enough from day 1. They had positive players in Lennon, Joe Cole, Downing, Walcott etc who didnt get a looking bar Joe Cole. They should of played there best players instead of relying on reputations. They all said we want to have no excuses this time round but they didnt even turn up, they were a average side all way through. Agreed about Hargreaves aswell on your other post he was englands best player.
